This sick grandfather is actually a corpse!

Ye Qing’s eyes reddened, he turned to look at the three young children over there, and then looked at the corpse on the bed. His heart was also in great pain. This old man might be the last relative of these three children. The poor things don’t understand, their only relative has already passed away from illness, yet they still think he is just sick, covering him with their only blanket, taking care of him.

Taking in a deep breath, Ye Qing tried to regain some calm. He respectfully covered the blanket corner again, then slowly sat in that cart and left the shack.

At this time, the eldest boy had already left here with the eldest girl, not sure what they went out to do. The local dog also went out, now only the youngest girl and three puppies were left here, playing and frolicking nearby. Only at this moment, did she show the innocence a child should have, looking very adorable together with the three puppies.

Ye Qing put on his coat, slowly lay on this small cart. Now he didn’t want to think about anything, only wanted to quickly restore his strength, quickly return to Shenchuan City, take these three children back, give them everything he can.

The warm sun shone on him, feeling quite comfortable indeed. Before long, Ye Qing fell into a deep sleep. Until the sound of dogs barking woke him, he turned his head to look around, the eldest boy and eldest girl had already come back, the local dog also ran back from afar.

Looking from a distance, the local dog seemed to be holding something in its mouth. And the three little dogs were barking excitedly and running toward it, eagerly trying to grab whatever was in the local dog’s mouth.

The local dog raised its head, not letting the three little ones touch the thing in its mouth, kept running back to this side, Ye Qing only then saw clearly the thing in its mouth, turned out to be a bone stick, with some meat still attached.

Seeing this bone stick, the three children seemed very excited. The eldest boy hurriedly ran over, the local dog handed the bone stick over to him, happily turning to play around with the little ones.

Seeing this situation, Ye Qing was even more astonished. This local dog ran such a trip, brought back a bone stick, was it really for the three children? If that’s the case, this local dog is too humane, isn’t it?

The eldest boy took the bone stick, washed it several times in water, then tossed it into a broken pot, added water and stewed it. While the three children sat by the fire, their clothes thin, this was the warmest place for them.

Of course, Ye Qing was also pushed over by the three children. Being near the fire, Ye Qing felt even warmer. Watching the three children eagerly staring at that broken pot, Ye Qing felt even more pained. These three children lived worse than dogs, yet their resilience was heartbreaking!

Though no seasoning was added, after about twenty minutes, everyone could smell the aroma of bone soup. The local dog and three little ones also ran back, the local dog was fine, but the three little ones were circling around that pot, a frenzy of eagerness, given their stance, if the fire wasn’t so hot, they would surely jump in.

Ye Qing had only eaten a bun, which wasn’t filling at all, smelling the aroma of bone soup, his stomach was also feeling hungry. Even knowing the bone stick was brought back by the local dog, Ye Qing didn’t mind. In survival scenarios, he had eaten many things!

The eldest boy was very persistent, stewing for about an hour before he finally opened the pot. A fragrant aroma wafted out, even the two little girls clapped and cheered.

The eldest boy brought over a broken basin from the side, inside which noodles of unknown origin were found. There were dried noodles, wet noodles, even some cooked ones. The eldest boy tossed them all into the basin, seemingly preparing for a mixed stew.

Once the noodles were in, the aroma became even richer. The eldest boy carefully cooked everything, then removed some fire, took a bowl from the side, and first served a bowl, bringing it into the shack.

Ye Qing, from a distance, heard the eldest boy calling out to his grandfather in an awkward voice inside. However, his grandfather surely could not respond anymore. Ye Qing didn’t know how to tell these three that their grandfather had already passed away, watching their stubbornness, his eyes too were brimming with tears.

After calling for a while with no response, the eldest boy walked back over with the bowl. Seeing him unable to wake their grandfather, the two girls also showed disappointment and sadness on their faces, clearly they too wished their grandfather could wake.

The eldest boy brought back the food, first handing it to the little girl. But the little girl shook her head, pointed to Ye Qing next to her, indicating he should eat first.

This touched Ye Qing deeply, this little girl not only knew how to care for others but was also very polite!

The eldest boy glanced at Ye Qing, finally seeming resigned, he placed the bowl in front of Ye Qing, gave him a pair of chopsticks. Then he served another bowl, this time the little girl accepted it.

The big boy served another bowl for the big girl, then a fourth bowl, which Ye Qing originally thought was for himself. Unexpectedly, he set it aside, indicating for the local dog to come and eat.

Seeing this scene, Ye Qing was once again stunned. Earlier, the big boy taking care of his younger brother and sister had already moved him greatly. To his surprise, the big boy cared for the local dog so well that he would rather not eat himself and feed the dog first. No wonder the dog was so close to them; this was the affection accumulated over many years.

The local dog came over, sniffed, and didn’t eat immediately, waiting instead for the food to cool down. After all, it was just a dog and couldn’t eat anything too hot.

Afterward, the big boy served himself another bowl; this one was finally his.

The two girls saw the big boy with food and then started eating with him.

Watching it all from the side, Ye Qing felt even warmer inside. He bent down and slowly finished his bowl of rice. Although the food was simple, even a bit dirty, Ye Qing found it incredibly tasty, finishing every last grain.

After eating, the big girl immediately took the bowls, chopsticks, and broken pots to wash them. The little girl wanted to help too, but the big boy stopped her. It’s clear that the big boy and big girl doted on the little girl a lot, not letting her do anything.

The scene touched Ye Qing even more. After eating, he felt a bit more strength in his body. However, his left hand and legs were still numb. Looking at the situation, it seemed it might take a few days to recover. Moreover, he couldn’t communicate with these three children to ask for help to make a phone call, so he could only stay here for now. Once his body recovered a bit, he would make the call himself.

In Shenchuan City, the salvage operation had already been ongoing for fifteen to sixteen hours. The sea area had almost been turned over, but the result was as expected. They still couldn’t find Ye Qing, which worried the people of Shenchuan City greatly.

Helian Tiehua was sitting in the hall with Shen Tianjun and others, discussing where Ye Qing might have drifted to. Suddenly, three people walked in from outside, it turned out to be Luan Ping, Bai Li Xi, and Ning Qianshu.

Luan Ping appeared jubilant, suggesting that the Commonheart Worm inside him had been resolved. After all, Ba Li Xi and Ning Qianshu’s medical skills were quite extraordinary. For the two of them to remove the Commonheart Worm wasn’t a difficult task.

Seeing this, Helian Tiehua slightly nodded. When Luan Ping collaborated with them before, they promised to help him remove the Commonheart Worm as a reward. Now that the worm was indeed removed, they considered their promise fulfilled, clearing any debts between them and Luan Ping.

Entering the hall, Luan Ping cupped his hands towards everyone and said, ”Thank you all for your help. The major worry on Luan’s body is gone. The Commonheart Worm had troubled me for many days, and today I can finally feel at ease.”

”This is what Senior Luan deserves.” Helian Tiehua nodded, glancing at Bai Li Xi beside him, and said, ”With the busy affairs here in Shenchuan City, we won’t be able to entertain Senior Luan this time. Until we meet again, Jianghu will see you!”

Helian Tiehua’s words clearly signaled an order to leave, showing he didn’t wish for Luan Ping to get too involved here.

A trace of barely noticeable anger flashed in Luan Ping’s eyes, but his face remained a smile. Being in the presence of the Corpse Ghost Dragon had polished his patience enough. Although not as powerful as before, he never showed any emotions on his face, simply nodding and saying, ”I was planning to leave, just came to greet General Helian and King of Fists Shen. I will never forget today’s kindness!”

”We agreed long ago that after solving the Corpse Ghost Dragon issue, we would help you remove this Commonheart Worm. We’re simply honoring our promise, Senior Luan need not be overly courteous!” Helian Tiehua calmly replied, unwilling to entangle with Luan Ping in any grudges. Next time they meet, who knows whether they’ll be friends or foes; he wanted no entanglements of gratitude and resentment. Such entanglements would prevent him from making his best effort.

”Hahaha...” Luan Ping laughed heartily and said, ”No matter what, I must thank you all for helping me get rid of this major concern. Since everyone is busy, I won’t impose. As General Helian said, until we meet again, Jianghu will see you!”

Finished speaking, Luan Ping cupped his hands towards everyone and turned, striding out of the hall. Seeing Luan Ping leave, Ning Qianshu didn’t linger either, saying a word to the others before also leaving the hall with Luan Ping.

Watching the two leave, Helian Tiehua sighed softly and said in a low voice, ”It seems that Ning Qianshu might be planning to connect with Luan Ping. Although Luan Ping’s strength isn’t what it used to be, he is still a Peak Master. If he joins the Twelve Green Halls, it could be a bit troublesome for the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance.”
