Urban Martial Saint

Hearing about the Calm Heart Zen, Ye Qing was visibly shaken. He pondered for a while and suddenly asked, ”Since the Venerable knows this Calm Heart Zen, isn’t this matter actually not that troublesome? I can gather all the employees from the orphanage who know about this, and the Venerable can use Calm Heart Zen to probe them one by one. Wouldn’t that make it easier to identify who leaked the list?”

The Purple Robe Lama glanced at Ye Qing and said, ”You need to understand, my main objective isn’t just to investigate who leaked the information. I mainly want to investigate who killed those children. I need to know who has malicious intent against my Brahmanism!”

”Is there a difference?” the Wolf Monk couldn’t help but ask in confusion. ”If we find out who leaked the list, wouldn’t that lead us to who is targeting Brahmanism?”

”It’s not the same.” The Purple Robe Lama slowly shook his head and said, ”You two have not been investigating this matter for long, so you’re not fully aware of the situation. I’ve been tracking this for several days and discovered that the person who killed those children is actually a Peak Master!”

”Ah?” Both Ye Qing and the Wolf Monk’s expressions changed. They originally thought that the children were killed by an ordinary Martial Artist. They hadn’t expected it to be a Peak Master; this news was truly shocking.

”So now you see how complicated this is.” The Purple Robe Lama said in a deep voice, ”A Peak Master carrying out such actions indicates how formidable their power must be. I fear that even the entire Brahmanism might not be their match. Simply identifying who leaked the secret is not difficult. However, since they could dispatch a Peak Master to kill, they must be capable of hiding their identity as well. Even if I find the person who leaked the secret, I may not be able to uncover who killed those children.”

”That’s true.” Ye Qing nodded slowly. With such strong forces against them, how could a single traitor reveal their identity? Even if the traitor is identified, it might not reveal their identity, making it a perpetual mystery.

”Then isn’t doing this just a waste of time?” The Wolf Monk glanced at the cave and said, ”If this person can’t necessarily unveil their identity, what good is it to find the traitor?”

”This is psychological warfare.” Without waiting for the Purple Robe Lama to speak, Ye Qing said, ”I think the Venerable is trying to apply psychological pressure on whoever is acting against Brahmanism. By investigating the traitor, the person opposing Brahmanism, with a guilty conscience, will be afraid of the secret being exposed. Even if they hide their identity, they’ll fear leaving traces in front of the traitor. So the best way is to kill the traitor and silence them!”

The Purple Robe Lama nodded and said, ”Ye Qing is right, I’m exerting pressure to force them out to kill and silence the traitor. That way, I’ll be able to find them. As the saying goes, dead men tell no tales. If I apply enough pressure, the one acting from the shadows, if they wish to remain hidden, will surely come out to kill the traitor and keep the secret. And I’ll be waiting for them at the orphanage!”

”I see.” The Wolf Monk realized and nodded, ”The Venerable’s method is indeed clever. Only with this method can the mastermind truly be found.”

”But what once you find the mastermind?” Ye Qing sighed and said solemnly, ”The fact that they can send a Peak Master to kill these children shows their power is not just simple. Venerable, are you sure you want to keep investigating this? Once they are completely exposed, I’m afraid they might directly attack Brahmanism!”

”Tianzhu Buddhism, from Dalin Temple to our Brahmanism, has weathered many storms along the way and never been extinguished. Many powers have tried to assault our Buddhist Sect, attempting to eradicate our roots but ultimately failed!” The Purple Robe Lama said, ”No matter how strong the enemy is, if it’s truly the calamity of Brahmanism, even if we don’t uncover their identity, we can’t escape it. Even if Brahmanism is gone, Tianzhu Buddhism will persist in the world, and the Buddhist Sect will never be destroyed!”

When the Purple Robe Lama spoke these words, his aura was extremely bold, leaving Ye Qing in admiration. This top master of Tianzhu Buddhism, not only well-versed in Buddhist Doctrine, had a heroic spirit, truly a person worth associating with!

The Wolf Monk nodded slowly and said, ”Even if the religion falls, Buddhist doctrine endures forever. Any attempt to annihilate our Buddhist Sect is merely wishful thinking!”

The Purple Robe Lama and the Wolf Monk exchanged a glance, each slightly nodding. These two masters of the Buddhist Sect surprisingly had unified opinions on this matter!

”Since the Venerable wishes to unearth the villain behind the scenes, we shall not hinder him.” The Wolf Monk said, ”There were some things I wanted to ask the Venerable, but since he is busy, I’ll come back another day to consult. Ye Qing, why don’t you wait a bit, until the Venerable finds out the results before proceeding? Your employees aren’t in danger here, so there’s no need to worry too much!”

Under these circumstances, Ye Qing could no longer demand the Purple Robe Lama to hand over the employees, so he had no choice but to let it go. Saying farewell to the Purple Robe Lama with the Wolf Monk, they both left the forest. After walking for a short while, they saw Cui Yu and others approaching from a distance.

Compared to the speed of the Wolf Monk, Cui Yu and the others were much slower. So, by the time the matters here were dealt with, they still had not arrived.

”What’s going on?” Seeing Ye Qing and the Wolf Monk come out, Cui Yu was quite surprised and quickly approached to ask, ”Where is the person? Did you catch them?”

The deeds of the Purple Robe Lama inside were meant to lure out the person behind the scenes who wanted to deal with Brahmanism, and so Ye Qing and the Wolf Monk naturally wouldn’t reveal his secret. Therefore, Ye Qing and the Wolf Monk did not tell Cui Yu and the others the truth, they just casually made up a lie to brush this matter off.

Cui Yu and the others did not suspect anything. Since Ye Qing and the Wolf Monk were no longer pursuing, they obviously did not continue the chase and returned to Shenchuan City together with Ye Qing and the others.

After bidding farewell to the Wolf Monk and the others, Ye Qing drove directly back to the estate of the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance. As soon as he returned to his residence, he saw Zhao Chengshuang and Li Lianshan sitting in the yard drinking together from afar. These guys were leisurely every day and still had time to drink here.

Seeing Ye Qing return, Zhao Chengshuang immediately put down his wine glass and said, ”Alright, Ye Zi is back.”

Li Lianshan turned his head, seeing Ye Qing, he was also full of excitement and said, ”Ye Zi, how’s it going? Is it done?”

It seemed that Zhao Chengshuang and Li Lianshan were waiting here for Ye Qing to handle the matter of the missing staff at the orphanage.

After all, at the orphanage, Li Lianshan was also one of the donors, and he was worried about the orphanage’s matters. As for Zhao Chengshuang, with so many employees missing consecutively at the orphanage, it was not easy for him as the director, so he really wanted Ye Qing to take care of this matter.

Ye Qing shook his head, made up a lie casually, and brushed the matter off. Zhao Chengshuang and Li Lianshan became frustrated, Li Lianshan said, ”This is troublesome, Ye Zi invited people from Sha Men, and they still haven’t resolved this matter. It seems this case is not simple. Cheng Shuang, I think solving this case may not be easy for you!”

”Who says it isn’t!” Zhao Chengshuang also looked frustrated and said, ”With employees missing consecutively, we receive reports every day. Now this case has received high attention from the city bureau. Furthermore, our orphanage is a key concern for the city. Now that the staff at the orphanage keep disappearing, many people have started doubting whether our orphanage can provide safety guarantees for these children!”

Li Lianshan was also sighing, he looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Ye Zi, should we... suspend the orphanage for a while? Let the children temporarily stay elsewhere, and the staff can take a break and go home to rest. When this matter is over, we can bring them back, how about that?”

Ye Qing glanced at Li Lianshan and said, ”Is there such a necessity?”

”How is there not?” Li Lianshan said urgently, ”Let’s not talk about the public opinion, if the staff disappearance at the orphanage isn’t solved, then the staff might all resign. If we don’t find a solution, it won’t take long before the orphanage closes. Also, the external public opinion is unanimously questioning our management method, we have to find a solution somehow.”

Ye Qing frowned, what Li Lianshan said was true, if the issue of staff disappearing consecutively isn’t solved, the employees would certainly lose their motivation to work. Moreover, the outside world is watching us, if we don’t resolve this, it will be hard to settle. If rumors spread, the reputation the orphanage worked so hard to build would be gone.

However, coming up with a solution requires an actual plan. The Purple Robe Lama had already informed Ye Qing that he intended to draw out the person behind the scenes this time. In such a situation, any action Ye Qing took would hinder the Purple Robe Lama’s plans. On matters concerning these children, Ye Qing felt already indebted to the Purple Robe Lama, and now, of course, he was even more reluctant to obstruct the Purple Robe Lama’s plan.

”Ye Zi, you are in charge of the orphanage, ultimately it’s up to you to decide how to proceed.” Li Lianshan patted Ye Qing on the shoulder and said, ”It’s just that the current situation is a bit troublesome, I just mentioned it casually. If you have another plan, that’s obviously better. After all, even a brief suspension of the orphanage may not sound nice to the public.”
