Urban Martial Saint

The elderly man looked at Ye Qing and said, ”The Northern Fist King was meticulous in his thoughts and acted with great measure. Spending his last fifteen years training such a person, he surely had great hopes for him. This individual, with his unparalleled Life Grid and protected by the Crouching Tiger Feng Shui specifically chosen by the Northern Fist King, is naturally a person destined for greatness. Moreover, his character is unmatched; he harbors great love and is clear in his affections and resentments. The Northern Fist King must have placed all his hopes on him, wanting to cultivate a hero in his last fifteen years. Even if his martial arts skills aren’t profound, he could still achieve great things and carry forward the dreams of the Northern Fist King!”

The elderly man understood the Northern Fist King Li Changqing well, and as he spoke, there seemed to be a feeling of mutual appreciation.

However, the Monk maintained his usual chuckling demeanor, still sizing up Ye Qing.

”What do you think opened up these thirty-six major acupoints on his body?” the Monk suddenly asked.

”Who knows!” the elderly man was also somewhat surprised. He stared at Ye Qing for a long while and said in a low voice, ”If it were just a matter of age causing his meridians to be blocked, merely using inner strength to break open the meridians would suffice. But this is an innate deficiency, even the strongest inner strength couldn’t break open his meridians. As far as I know, there are definitely no more than two people who can treat such an innate condition!”

The Monk looked up at the elderly man and said, ”The two people you’re talking about have been missing for over twenty years, it wouldn’t just be a coincidence that they’ve met him.”

”It shouldn’t be!” the elderly man shook his head and said, ”If those two had intervened, all his meridians would have been broken through by now, not just the thirty-six major acupoints. Moreover, take a careful look at his right arm, some of the meridians and acupoints were opened but not thoroughly, so they are still somewhat blocked. If it were those two people, why would there be such a situation?”

Last time when Ou Keren used a steel needle to pierce acupoints and opened Ye Qing’s thirty-six major acupoints, his right hand was severely damaged. Several needles had deviated from their intended positions, thus creating this situation. However, the Monk and this elderly man didn’t know about this, naturally, they couldn’t imagine that a girl could know such a treatment method. The steel needle punctured acupoints, accidentally opening Ye Qing’s thirty-six major acupoints!

”If it wasn’t these two who intervened, then who could it be?” the Monk said.

The elderly man said, ”Considering the technique, it appears somewhat unskilled; it could be one of their disciples.”

”Both of them have disciples now!” the Monk snorted disdainfully and said, ”The Monk here hasn’t even had time to take on disciples himself!”

The elderly man gave a faint smile and said, ”That’s because you chose not to. In these fifteen years, you have been busy enough, traveling across Jiangnan and beyond, have you still not caught up to him?”

The Monk said, ”Don’t mention it, you know how slippery that kid is, how easy is it to catch him?”

If others heard this, they would be greatly surprised. This monk with his near-celestial strength spent fifteen years trying to capture someone? More importantly, during these fifteen years, he failed to catch him. Exactly who could have such capability to escape from this Monk for fifteen years without being caught?

The elderly man said, ”His Heart Demon is too strong; after fifteen years, he still hasn’t come to repentance. This person, he can’t turn back anymore; you have been too kind to him!”

The Monk glared and said, ”Hey, I am a Monk, are you advising me to kill? That’s a violation of my precepts!”

The elderly man retorted, ”Drinking alcohol and eating meat, aren’t those violations too?”

The Monk immediately brought his hands together in prayer and said, ”Amitabha, although I eat meat and drink alcohol, the meat wasn’t killed by me, so what does it have to do with me? As the gentleman’s path goes, you cannot bear to see killing once you see them alive. I can eat meat, but I definitely cannot kill!”

”What kind of nonsensical reasoning!” the elderly man, uninterested in arguing with the Monk any further, went straight to Ye Qing, bent down, grabbed Ye Qing’s right hand, and slowly placed it on his shoulder.

”Wow, what are you doing?” the Monk exclaimed curiously.

The elderly man said, ”The meridians in his right arm are almost opened. Since that’s the case, I’ll lend him a helping hand and thoroughly break through the meridians in his right arm. This way, at least in the future, he’ll be able to achieve Internal Energy Release with his right arm.”

”What’s the use in that?” the Monk said, ”With his innate deficiency, if the meridians throughout his body aren’t completely opened, the speed of his Neijia Kung Fu cultivation will be very slow. Moreover, only piercing the meridians in the right arm while others are blocked, his inner strength wouldn’t be fully accessible, greatly limiting him. Even if he could make some progress in Martial Arts, the gap between him and others would still be massive. Others achieve in one day what he would need ten days to cultivate; how can he compare to others?”

”Regardless, even if only one arm can achieve Internal Energy Release, it is still always a progression. Besides, having one arm capable of Internal Energy Release is better than before!” the elderly man looked at Ye Qing and said, ”He is after all the successor of the Northern Fist King, I must help him, and you should help me too.”

”What does this have to do with me!” the Monk said irritably.

The elderly man said, ”Do you want to eat the rabbit meat my granddaughter will roast later or not?”

”You’re threatening me!” the monk immediately widened his eyes and said, ”Do you think I’m the kind of person who’s easily threatened?”

Despite saying this, the monk had already walked over to Ye Qing’s side, grabbed Ye Qing’s wrist, and began to activate his Inner Strength to help Ye Qing clear the meridians in his right arm along with the old man. It was also some of Ou Keren’s mistakes last time that gave Ye Qing this opportunity. However, it was very dangerous at the time, and any mistake could have left Ye Qing disabled.

On the other side, Huangfu Ziyu helped the girl walk to the brook. The stream was not big, but it was crystal clear, and in this scenic spot, it almost looked like a paradise.

Reaching the edge of the brook, Huangfu Ziyu helped the girl sit on a stone tablet and asked, ”What should we do? Should I wash the rabbit first?”

”No need.” The girl extended her hand, took the lively wild rabbit from Huangfu Ziyu. She gently stroked the rabbit’s back, smiled slightly, put the rabbit down on the stone slab, and pat it gently, whispering, ”Run quickly, next time, don’t let yourself get caught!”

The rabbit immediately took off as soon as it hit the ground, without any hesitation.

On this side, Huangfu Ziyu was stunned. She had not expected the girl to release the wild rabbit she had finally caught. By the time she thought of chasing it, the rabbit had already scampered into the bushes and it was too late to pursue.

”Why did you do that?” Huangfu Ziyu couldn’t help asking. She had run for over ten minutes to catch that rabbit, and the girl had just let it go. It was lucky this was a girl; if it had been a guy, she might have killed him on the spot!

The girl replied, ”Sister, the little rabbit is so pitiful, why would we eat it?”

”What do you mean pitiful? These creatures are born to be eaten by people. Even if we don’t eat it, some other animal would have, that’s the law of nature!” Huangfu Ziyu said, ”Isn’t your compassion a bit excessive? Are you saying you’ll never eat meat in your life?”

”Although that’s the law of nature, even an ant clings to life. Since it’s a life, it’s better alive than dead.” The girl smiled and said, ”Actually, why must we eat meat? Sister, are you hungry? I brought some dry food, would you like some?”

As she spoke, the girl took some dry food from her bag and groped her way to hand it to Huangfu Ziyu.

Looking at the girl’s pure little face, Huangfu Ziyu couldn’t bring herself to be angry, but could only sigh deeply and said, ”I’m not hungry, but that senior over there seems very hungry. He specifically asked for rabbit, and now that you’ve let it go, it looks like I’ll have to catch another!”

”No need!” The girl hurriedly waved her hand and said, ”Let him eat some dry food.”

Huangfu Ziyu thought about the monk’s greasy appearance and pursed her lips, saying, ”I bet he won’t eat dry food!”

”You never know, he might end up liking the dry food.” The girl laughed as she stood up and said, ”I smell wild herbs. I’ll pick some later and make a small dish for him; maybe he’ll take a liking to these vegetables.”

”Then you’ll have to tell him yourself.” Huangfu Ziyu came over to help the girl, intending to walk back, but the girl motioned her to stop: ”Sister, could you please help me pick some wild herbs and mushrooms?”

If anyone else had asked this, Huangfu Ziyu would have been angry. But faced with this ethereal girl, she just couldn’t bring herself to it.

”I don’t know any wild herbs!” replied Huangfu Ziyu.

”I can tell you about them. Just pick what I describe, and you definitely won’t make a mistake.” The girl smiled.

”Alright.” Huangfu Ziyu sighed, feeling like she had narrowly escaped death today, but somehow she ended up working here.

Following the girl’s directions, Huangfu Ziyu gathered loads of wild herbs and mushrooms, and then helped the girl back. Meanwhile, the old man and the monk were each seated on stone tablets, with closed eyes, apparently doing something mysterious. On the other hand, Ye Qing lay on the ground, still just as before.

Huangfu Ziyu went over to check on Ye Qing, and seeing his breathing was still steady, she felt much reassured. She didn’t disturb the monk or the old man but instead helped the girl collect firewood and started a fire. The girl took some sticks, skewered the vegetables, and began roasting them over the fire. She also had a spice box with her, gradually seasoning the vegetables skillfully, indicating she had often done this before.

Watching the girl’s sightless eyes yet the smile on her face, Huangfu Ziyu felt a pang of sadness. This kind of optimism was something she had never seen before; a blind person, yet still so positive, was indeed rare!
