Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing’s words left Liu Changping silent again, as he was clearly still hesitant.

Handling a cross-regional case sounds simple, but in reality, it’s quite challenging. Especially since he’s the head of the Provincial Police Department, bypassing local authorities inherently signifies dissatisfaction with their work, which is not conducive to unity. Moreover, if the case fails, the future repercussions would be even worse, and he was not willing to take this matter lightly.

However, the issues Ye Qing had raised deeply resonated with him. Looking at Xiao Ding Ding next to him, his heart also trembled. So many children like Xiao Ding Ding were at immediate risk of losing their lives at such an innocently young age, anyone would find it heartbreaking.

Was it his duty to trade off these children’s lives for avoiding a personal error, or to avoid making a mistake, regardless of the children’s lives?

Liu Changping did not hesitate for long, suddenly slamming the table, his voice deep and stern, ”Alright, Ye Qing, I fully support you on this matter. However, I also need a favor from you. It would be best if you could gather some evidence, otherwise, I will be at a disadvantage here!”

Ye Qing said, ”Uncle Liu, rest assured. Just arrange your manpower adequately, and once I find the evidence, you can take action!”

”No problem!” Liu Changping nodded, hung up the phone, turned on his cell phone, and directly called a deputy director.

In Shenchuan City, Ye Qing and his team had just gotten on the highway. After making this call, Ye Qing felt a lot more at ease.

Ye Qing was well aware of the Beggar King’s substantial influence in Tianhui City, after all, he was someone who could stand against Huangfu Ziyu. It wasn’t just about his group, even if all of Li Lianshan’s men were added, going to Tianhui City wouldn’t necessarily give them an advantage. Therefore, he needed external help, and Liu Changping was the best option!

As the biggest drug lord in the Eastern Province, the police tackling the Beggar King was the best approach and would save Ye Qing a lot of trouble.

After speaking to Liu Changping, Ye Qing called Huangfu Ziyu. However, this time the phone rang several times before Huangfu Ziyu picked up, which was unlike before.

Ye Qing did not know about last night’s incident with Huangfu Ziyu and didn’t think further about it. At the other end of the line, a hint of blush flashed across Huangfu Ziyu’s face as she bit her lower lip and pretended as if everything was normal, ”Ye Qing, you’re calling me again? Hehe, what is it, do you need my help with something again?”

”I just wanted to ask you a few questions,” Ye Qing said.

Huangfu Ziyu laughed, ”My answers are expensive; can you afford them?”

Ye Qing smiled, taking Huangfu Ziyu’s words as a joke. In fact, since he had known her, Huangfu Ziyu had always been helping him. Ye Qing said he owed her two favors, but she had never asked him to fulfill them, so Ye Qing did not take it seriously anymore.

”Miss Huangfu, how much do you know about the Beggar King in Tianhui City?” Ye Qing asked.

”The Beggar King?” Huangfu Ziyu was clearly surprised, ”What about him? Are you planning to confront him?”

Ye Qing said, ”Miss Huangfu, you know I manage an orphanage. Many children under the Beggar King’s control are suffering, and I want to rescue all these children back to Shenchuan City!”

”You have big dreams indeed,” Huangfu Ziyu laughed, ”But trying to snatch these kids from the Beggar King, isn’t that a bit too bold? The Beggar King has strong influence in Tianhui City, your manpower can’t compete with his. Of course, you can seek my help, but that comes at a price!”

”That won’t be necessary,” Ye Qing said. ”I just wanted to ask Miss Huangfu how many strongholds the Beggar King has in Tianhui City, so I can act more efficiently.”

”You are really prepared to confront the Beggar King?” Huangfu Ziyu’s voice was clearly surprised, ”Ye Qing, have you thought this through? Competing with him in Tianhui City will not be to your advantage. Not to mention the people under him, even the Tianhui City police will oppose you!”

Ye Qing said, ”Miss Huangfu need not worry about these matters; I have a clear understanding of what’s important. The key issue is that I’m not familiar with the Beggar King’s strongholds here.”

Huangfu Ziyu was silent for a while before saying, ”Alright, since you are so determined, I will help you this time for free. When you get to Tianhui City, look for the people who helped rescue Black Bear last time; they are very familiar with the Beggar King’s situation, and they will provide you with all the information about his strongholds in Tianhui City!”

Ye Qing was overjoyed and quickly said, ”Miss Huangfu, thank you so much!”

Huangfu Ziyu smiled and said, ”No thanks are needed. I just want to see if you, the Overlord Dragon, can suppress this Local Thug, the Beggar King!”

Ye Qing gave a faint smile and said nothing more. Although the Beggar King was a Local Thug, he was certainly not an Overlord Dragon. The real Overlord Dragons would be the police dispatched by Liu Changping. With the forces from the Provincial Police Department incoming, what could the Beggar King, despite his strength, really do?

Tonight, Ye Qing intended to turn Tianhui City upside down, completely destroy all of the Beggar King’s influences, and corner him into a dead end. Firstly, he wanted to rescue all the children under the Beggar King’s control; he could not bear to see them suffer any longer. Secondly, he wanted to capture Old Bai and find out about his brother’s situation. Thirdly, he suspected that there was something problematic about the Beggar King, maybe even someone supporting him from behind the scenes. By forcing the Beggar King into a corner, he would surely seek protection from his hidden backer. And Ye Qing intended to discover exactly who this person was!

Ye Qing had a feeling that the person behind the Beggar King was likely connected with the one backing Xu Dingjiang. Thus, Ye Qing decided to take swift action to force the Beggar King to reveal his supporter!

After hanging up the phone, Huangfu Ziyu’s brow furrowed slightly.

”Miss, do you really want to help him against the Beggar King?” Tianfu said in a low voice, ”The Beggar King is no simple character; Ye Qing might not be able to handle him. If there’s a direct confrontation in Tianhui City, Ye Qing will undoubtedly be at a disadvantage. Miss, since Ye Qing is so important to your plan, perhaps you should stop him first. If something happens to him in Tianhui City, wouldn’t it affect your plans?”

”No need,” Huangfu Ziyu shook her head and said, ”Ye Qing is no fool. Having suffered a loss at the Beggar King’s hands before, he surely won’t act rashly this time. This man always plans thoroughly before acting, and since he now dares to target all of the Beggar King’s strongholds, he must have made preparations. This time, the one who should be worried is the Beggar King!”

Tianfu scratched his head and said, ”Even if Ye Qing is prepared, it won’t be enough. The gap in strength between him and the Beggar King is too vast, not to mention, the Beggar King has the support from several people in Western Province. I don’t think Ye Qing can handle him!”

”Ye Qing might not be able to handle him, but he might not need to act personally either!” Huangfu Ziyu said, ”As long as Ye Qing asks Liu Changping for assistance, the Beggar King’s strength will be useless!”

”Are you saying that Ye Qing will ask for Liu Changping’s help?” Tianfu was taken aback. If that was the case, then there really was no suspense. The Beggar King would not dare to make a move in front of Liu Changping, the chief of the Dong Province Police Department.”

”If Ye Qing is so confident and ready to mobilize, who else could he turn to if not Liu Changping?” Huangfu Ziyu said, ”Moreover, Liu Changping is exactly the right person for this job. The things the Beggar King has been doing in Tianhui City will sooner or later lead to trouble!”

Tianfu still looked shocked and after being silent for a moment, he said, ”But Miss, didn’t you want to use the Beggar King as a pawn before? He was planted in Eastern Province by those people from Western Province, and you discovered this when we first clashed with him. At that time, you let him go because you planned to use the influence of those people from Western Province to suppress the Xihang Shen Family. If Ye Qing now completely uproots the Beggar King, those people from Western Province will have no foothold in Eastern Province!”

”What was necessary then is not necessary now,” Huangfu Ziyu said, ”Before, I deliberately left the Beggar King here because I knew they would not be content hiding in Western Province and would surely try to make a move. I was preparing to use them as pawns. But the situation has changed!”

Huangfu Ziyu glanced at Tianfu and spoke sternly, ”What happened in Shenchuan City, if I am not mistaken, must have been orchestrated by those people from Western Province. There is bound to be a major conflict between Sha Men and the Shen Family. And since Cui Yu dared to call back the Killing Gate Seven Hidden, it shows he is also confident in facing the Shen Family. Even if Sha Men is defeated, the Shen Family will also suffer heavily. By then, when I go back to Xihang, the Shen Family will not be able to stop me, and I can reclaim what belongs to the Huangfu Household. As for those people from Western Province, after they instigate the feud between Sha Men and the Shen Family, they are of no use to my plans anymore. At this point, keeping the Beggar King around is merely a disaster; it’s better to deal with him directly!”

If Ye Qing heard Huangfu Ziyu’s words, he would certainly be astounded. In fact, Huangfu Ziyu had long understood the entire situation. However, she also wanted to sit back and watch the battle between the Xihang Shen Family and Sha Men, seizing the opportunity to strike back at Xihang.

Everyone has their own motives. The people of Western Province have motives, the people of the Xihang Shen Family have motives, the people of Sha Men have motives, and even Huangfu Ziyu has her motives. However, Ye Qing was completely unaware of past events and thus could not guess what these people really had in mind. The actions he was taking now were for three reasons: first, to avenge Tie Yongwen; second, to rescue those children; third, to find his brother, Ye Jun.

Beyond these three issues, Ye Qing actually didn’t care about anything else. However, whether he cared or not, he was already involved because he was the sole successor to Northern Fist King Li Changqing!
