Urban Martial Saint

Yunyi knew exactly what Quan Kun meant; he wanted her to make a stand. In fact, she could also tell that Quan Kun simply wished to use them to deal with Lin Mengjie. As for this, she had no objections herself, after all, if Lin Mengjie managed to consolidate the place, Yunyi’s earnings would decrease.

She smiled faintly, looked at Ms. Bo, and said, ”Kunzi, you need to spell it out. You’re the employee here, we are not. Our relationship with Boss Ye is merely a partnership. If Boss Ye thinks the cooperation is no longer feasible, that’s not a problem either, we can always collaborate with someone else. Shenchuan City is so big, it’s not like his is the only venue we can make a living from. Right, Ms. Bo?”

”Exactly!” Ms. Bo nodded repeatedly and said, ”I don’t care about this Boss Ye or Manager Lin thing, all I want is to get paid that amount. If she’s not willing, let that Ye come and talk to me. If Ye is also no good, then I might as well go to another venue for my meals. Hmph, isn’t he just a country bumpkin from some village, getting all full of himself? The Hall Master of the Tianqing Gang has invited me several times to help at his venue, and I haven’t gone yet!”

A cold smirk flashed in Quan Kun’s eyes. Ever since Tiger King died, the venue had been nearly uncontrollable for a while. Ms. Bo was always quite arrogant, and without anyone to keep her in check lately, her temper had become even more volatile, completely disregarding others. Even Quan Kun had to tread carefully and keep smiling when talking to her. This time, by shifting the issue onto them, Quan Kun wanted Lin Mengjie to have a direct showdown with them. Regardless of who lost or won, he was happy to sit back and watch the show leisurely.

”I can’t manage these, but I’ve conveyed Manager Lin’s thoughts to you all. She’ll be coming over to our venue later to have a look around. If there’s anything you’re dissatisfied with, you can discuss it with her yourselves!” Quan Kun said, ”I do hope you can talk to her. To be honest, after all the time we’ve worked together, I wish you could earn more too. But just like Yunyi said, I’m just a worker, there’s not much I can say. How to proceed, that’s for you to decide!”

”Humph, if we were relying on you, we’d have been left to the winds long ago!” Ms. Bo glanced at Quan Kun and said, ”To think that a woman has to come forward for such a matter, it’s a disgrace for a man like you. Enough with the nonsense, when Lin Mengjie arrives, send her to see me. I want to see for myself how capable this woman is. Thinking she can boss me around? In her dreams!”

After Ms. Bo finished speaking, she stood up with Erqiang and left. Yunyi smiled faintly without saying a thing and followed the remaining account manager out. She wasn’t the type to seek the limelight, and fortunately, Ms. Bo liked being in the spotlight, so Yunyi was quite content to watch the drama unfold from the side. If Ms. Bo managed to suppress Lin Mengjie, Yunyi would naturally come forward as well. If Ms. Bo couldn’t handle Lin Mengjie, then Yunyi would figure out a way, and if necessary, she could lend her support to Ms. Bo!

As he watched the four account managers leave, a cold fury flashed in Quan Kun’s eyes. None of these four had ever taken him seriously, especially just now, Ms. Bo had insulted him so openly, which made him very angry. At that moment, he even harbored other thoughts; he wanted Lin Mengjie to give Ms. Bo and the others a good beating, to give him some satisfaction.

Knowing that Lin Mengjie was on her way, Quan Kun didn’t go downstairs. He simply sat in his office waiting. After about an hour or so, a lackey ran into the room to tell him Lin Mengjie had arrived.

Quan Kun, of course, did not dare to neglect her and hurriedly went downstairs to receive Lin Mengjie. Lin Mengjie arrived with two cars, accompanied by a total of seven people, including Yue Peng and his group.

Ye Qing thought Yue Peng and his people were quite capable, so he specially assigned them to assist Lin Mengjie with her work, and tonight they came with her to inspect the venues.

After receiving Lin Mengjie and the others at the venue, Quan Kun first took Lin Mengjie on a tour around the place, explaining the specifics of the venue to her. Naturally, he ended up discussing the issue with those four account managers, revealing to Lin Mengjie their unwillingness to cooperate.

Throughout the entire process, Lin Mengjie maintained a calm smile from beginning to end, not showing any different expressions even when she heard about the last issue.

Lin Mengjie said with a laugh, ”It’s everyone’s first time collaborating, so it’s normal to have differing opinions. Since they have some objections to my suggestions, let’s just sit down together in an honest and open discussion, see what can be improved, and have a good talk!”

”Manager Lin is truly magnanimous!” Quan Kun offered a flattery and laughed, ”I did have a meeting with them just now, but their tempers are really bad, I couldn’t persuade them. They’re all free right now, so, Manager Lin, maybe you could go and talk to them personally?”

”That would be best!” Lin Mengjie replied with a light smile.

Quan Kun led Lin Mengjie to the venue’s dressing room, which had been specially set up with makeup tables and changing rooms for the hostesses. Upon entering, they were met with a haze of smoke and the pungent scent of a mix of perfume and alcohol. Several girls were sitting on chairs, crossing their legs and smoking, a stark contrast to their elegant and frosty appearance outside.

Seeing Quan Kun bring a girl inside, the hostesses in the room immediately stood up, teasing, ”Oh, Manager Quan, are you leading a newcomer today?”

”She looks pretty good, but I wonder what her figure’s like!”

”We’ll find out what her figure’s like once she strips, but she’s tall enough, has long legs, and very white skin. She’s got the raw goods. Even if she doesn’t have much of a chest, with those looks, even if she can’t be a top card, she’ll still earn quite a bit!”

The women teased and joked among themselves, treating Lin Mengjie as if she were a new girl in the club. Quan Kun, with a face full of embarrassment, finally managed to silence the giggling girls and said, ”Let me introduce, this is our new general manager, Manager Lin Mengjie. She’s the general manager for all ten establishments under Boss Ye!”

The women hadn’t expected Lin Mengjie to hold such a position, and they were suddenly awkward, unsure of what to say.

”Yo, this must be Manager Lin!” At that moment, a disdainful voice echoed from the dressing room. Ms. Bo, with a lady’s cigarette pinched between two fingers, emerged with Erqiang and three gorgeous and enchanting girls.

These three girls were Ms. Bo’s top cards, young and beautiful, all standing over one meter seventy. With their looks and figures, they almost had the potential to be stars, which made them extremely popular in the night club.

Ms. Bo was set to face off with Lin Mengjie tonight and had brought her most popular three girls, feeling more confident as she spoke.

”I thought Manager Lin’s car had an accident on the road and you weren’t going to show up!” Ms. Bo’s words were sharp as she sized up Lin Mengjie and said, ”You do look rather good, quite the potential to be a mistress. No wonder Boss Ye brought you in to be the general manager, I guess the performance in bed isn’t bad either!”

Lin Mengjie maintained her smile, while Quan Kun hurriedly interjected, ”Ms. Bo, Boss Ye isn’t married yet!”

Ms. Bo said, ”Oh, not married yet, so not a mistress then, but a little girlfriend. But it’s all the same, right? Intimate bedroom friends, we all know what’s what!”

Quan Kun hung his head, not speaking, just letting Ms. Bo spout nonsense. He knew Lin Mengjie’s temper. Despite her constant smile, she was very tough. The more Ms. Bo provoked her, the more grim the outcome would likely be.

”So you’re Ms. Bo...” Lin Mengjie offered a light smile and extended her hand, saying, ”My name is Lin Mengjie, pleased to meet you!”

Facing Lin Mengjie’s outstretched hand, Ms. Bo scoffed dismissively, flicked her cigarette ash into Lin Mengjie’s hand with a tap of her fingers.

”We’re all here for the money, so let’s not talk about being pleased to meet or anything. Tell me, what do you want to do?” Ms. Bo didn’t even look at Lin Mengjie and said, ”My terms are simple; my girls make up half the earnings of this place, including three top cards and over thirty other girls. Hence, I’m fighting for their interests. I’m not asking much, just one third of the club’s monthly earnings. You figure it out!”

Quan Kun was stunned. When they used to take all the club’s earnings, Ms. Bo only got a fifth. Now, she was demanding a third right off the bat, clearly taking advantage of Lin Mengjie’s youth.

Lin Mengjie smiled faintly and said, ”Ms. Bo, this isn’t a good place to chat. How about we talk inside?”

”Sure!” Ms. Bo turned and said, ”Just perfect. Yunyi and the others are already inside. It’s best to sit together and talk everything through clearly.”

Lin Mengjie followed Ms. Bo into the inner room with a faint smile. Quan Kun wanted to follow but was stopped by Lin Mengjie, and Yue Peng and the others stayed outside.

Inside the room, Yunyi and another client manager were also sitting. They had been standing by the door and had heard the exchange between Ms. Bo and Lin Mengjie. The client managers were also surprised by Ms. Bo’s outrageous demand.

However, upon further thought, they understood that Ms. Bo was deliberately provoking Lin Mengjie. After all, Lin Mengjie was only the general manager; the real boss was Ye Qing. Therefore, talking to Lin Mengjie wasn’t very effective; it would be better to escalate the situation and have Ye Qing handle the negotiations. Then, they could leverage the large number of girls under their control to set their demands with Ye Qing.

Ms. Bo walked into the room and sat down directly on a large sofa. Her three top cards followed her, and Yunyi’s two top cards followed as well. This evening, they intended to use these top cards and the resources they controlled to pressurize Lin Mengjie.

A total of ten people were in the room, with nine from Ms. Bo’s faction, leaving Lin Mengjie alone, seemingly a bit outnumbered and overpowered.
