Urban Martial Saint

The man’s reaction was intense, as he paced back and forth on the spot, his expression filled with deep sorrow, as if he had lost his closest kin.

Watching him like this, Ye Qing also felt a pang of heartache. Having experienced so much in Shenchuan City, Ye Qing had come to understand that what Third Master Li had given him was not only the skills of Bajiquan but also the network he left behind. Ye Qing’s safety in Shenchuan City depended not only on his own strength but also on the prestige of Third Master Li.

”How did Third Master die?” The man suddenly turned his head and looked at Ye Qing, saying, ”Third Master was the Northern Fist King, skilled both internally and externally. His strength was against the heavens, so how could he just die like that? Tell me, how did he really die? Was he murdered by someone?”

Ye Qing sighed and slowly recounted the events of Third Master Li’s later years to the man. Ye Qing had always thought that Third Master Li had died from depression, but after Tie Yongwen’s analysis, he finally understood that Third Master Li’s greatest problem was the poison in his body that he couldn’t expel. In the battle against the Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun, Third Master Li had been poisoned beforehand, leading to his defeat. In the end, it was this poison that claimed his life!

After hearing Ye Qing’s words, the man suddenly punched the wall next to him and roared in a deep voice, ”Poison! Poison! Third Master Li was ultimately killed by the people from the Xihang Shen Family!”

After speaking, the man abruptly turned his head to look at Shen Qingyi in the room, his eyes flashing coldly.

Seeing the situation turning dire, Ye Qing hurriedly stepped in front of the man, just about to speak, but the man had already moved.

”I will kill you!” the man yelled, grabbing a wooden box nearby and rushing into the room.

”It’s not her fault!” Ye Qing rushed to intercept him, but the man seemed crazed, ignoring Ye Qing completely. He grabbed Ye Qing by the shoulders and threw him aside, charging into the room and throwing the wooden box at Shen Qingyi.

”Stop!” Ye Qing shouted, but the man was unmoved, and the wooden box crashed down heavily.

With no way to stop him, Ye Qing could only throw himself forward, pushing Shen Qingyi out of the way. However, with Shen Qingyi moved aside, he couldn’t avoid it in time and was struck by the wooden box on his left shoulder.

There was a loud crack, and Ye Qing’s left arm was dislocated, the intense pain nearly causing him to black out.

”Oh no!” Shen Qingyi exclaimed in shock, urgently asking, ”What are you doing hitting him?”

While speaking, Shen Qingyi, not caring that the man had tried to kill her, rushed back and hurriedly helped Ye Qing up, asking with concern, ”How are you? Are you alright?”

The man was also stunned, as if finally coming to his senses, looked at Shen Qingyi and then at Ye Qing, suddenly threw the wooden box away, and bent over quickly saying, ”Ye Qing, how are you?”

Shen Qingyi had already supported Ye Qing and, seeing the man bending over, slightly furrowed her brows and said, ”If you want to hit me, hit me, why hit someone else?”

This girl, yet unaware that she had just walked along Ghost Gate Pass. However, she indeed had courage, daring to say such things. If it were any other girl, she probably would have been scared stiff!

Ye Qing touched his shoulder with his right hand, took a breath and said, ”I… I’m fine. Uncle Tie once said that the poison might not necessarily have been laid by someone from the Shen Family. Even if it was by someone from the Shen Family, twenty years ago, Miss Shen was just a child. This matter has nothing to do with her, you must not… not displace your anger onto her.”

The man looked at Shen Qingyi and then at Ye Qing, and said in a deep voice, ”Ye Qing, do you know the depth of enmity I have with the Shen Family?”

Ye Qing said, ”Justice has its own course, and debts have their debtors. If you seek revenge, find the right person. How can you attack a girl who is powerless?”

The man stared at Ye Qing for a long time, then suddenly clenched his teeth, grabbed Ye Qing’s left arm, and with a pull and a twist, reset the dislocated joint.

”Ye Qing, today I’ll give face to Third Master Li, and I give you this person back. However, I hope you will not intervene in my grudge with the Shen Family!” the man stood up, casually picking up the wooden box, and looking coldly at Shen Qingyi, said sternly, ”Go back and tell your Old Madam, one day, I will invade Shen Family Manor and make them pay for the bloodshed of the past!”

After speaking, the man turned around and walked straight out of the house, never looking back.

Ye Qing called out a few times, but the man did not respond at all, simply driving away.

Ye Qing sighed, slowly stood up, and then turned to look at Shen Qingyi beside him.

Shen Qingyi was also looking at him, and as their eyes met, Ye Qing was startled, and his whole being froze.ted.

Since entering Shenchuan City, Ye Qing had met many beautiful women, among whom the most beautiful was naturally Huangfu Ziyu, a woman even more beautiful than a Heavenly Immortal.

However, after meeting Shen Qingyi, Ye Qing suddenly realized that his previous views were somewhat one-sided. Because Shen Qingyi was truly the most beautiful fairy. Her stunning beauty and ethereal aura resembled a delicate orchid in a secluded valley, flawless and divine like a heavenly immortal. In both looks and temperament, she surpassed Huangfu Ziyu, yet she lacked Huangfu Ziyu’s enchanting and clever aura. She seemed like a fairy untouched by worldly desires, purely beautiful without any scheming, her eyes so clear they contained no trace of impurity. Anyone who looked into her eyes couldn’t help feeling inferior, as if even an extra glance would sully her.

Shen Qingyi was alright, though; she looked worriedly at Ye Qing’s shoulder and asked, ”Does it still hurt?”

”Ah?” Ye Qing came back to his senses and finally remembered what he was doing. He hurriedly stepped back and quickly said, ”No... it doesn’t hurt anymore...”

He had shifted his gaze away, no longer daring to meet Shen Qingyi’s eyes, for he had realized that the longer he looked, the deeper he sank. This woman had a strange allure that made his usually untroubled heart start to beat faster.

”You were hit so hard, how can it not hurt? I fell once when I was little and it hurt for several days. It must still hurt,” Shen Qingyi pondered and suddenly remembered something. She quickly took out a blue-and-white porcelain vial from her pocket and offered it to Ye Qing, saying, ”This is the medicine my grandmother prepared for me. She said this medicine can cure all diseases in the world. You’re so badly hurt, take some now, and it will stop hurting soon.”

Looking at the pretty blue-and-white porcelain vial, Ye Qing knew clear in his heart that the medicine inside must be extremely valuable. Shen Qingyi offering this medicine to someone she had just met was indeed very generous.

”No need, it’s just a superficial wound; it will be fine soon,” Ye Qing stood up, endured the pain and moved his shoulder, and said, ”See, it hardly hurts now. Let’s go, I should take you back now, or your family will start worrying!”

”Right, I should hurry back,” Shen Qingyi quickly nodded, not asking further, and followed Ye Qing out of the house.

Upon leaving the village and getting back to the car, Ye Qing finally heaved a long sigh of relief. He made a safety call to Tie Yongwen, then started the car and headed back in the direction of Shenchuan City.

Shen Qingyi sat in the passenger seat, curiously observing the roadside scenery. Even though it was dark outside and she could hardly see anything, she seemed fascinated by everything, bombarding Ye Qing with various odd questions along the way.

”How long is this road?”

”Why are there so many cars on the road?”

”What are all these people going to do?”

”Oh, what’s that flower? It’s so pretty!”

She seemed like a village girl just stepping out for the first time, curious about everything, even the common sunflowers by the roadside, which she asked about for a long time as if she had never seen them before.

Ye Qing couldn’t fathom why Miss Shen, who was so dearly loved, was so ignorant. She seemed to have no knowledge of the outside world at all, appearing extremely delighted even when seeing strangers. What was really going on?

After chatting with Shen Qingyi a while, the two of them became somewhat more familiar. Ye Qing finally couldn’t help but ask, ”Miss Shen, have you... have you never been out before?”

Upon hearing this, Shen Qingyi’s expression turned slightly sad as she shook her head and said, ”No, I’ve only been out of the Shen Family Manor twice in my life, and this is the second time.”

”Ah?” Ye Qing was greatly astonished, turning to look at Shen Qingyi’s beautiful face and said, ”You’ve only been out twice from the Shen Family Manor? What do you usually do? Do you live there all the time?”

”Yes, I’ve lived in the Shen Family Manor all my life. I don’t do much usually, just gardening in the back yard. Let me tell you, I’ve grown many beautiful flowers; my grandmother always says I grow them well.” She sighed slightly and continued, ”It’s a pity, I’ve never grown sunflowers; I haven’t even seen them before. This time when I return, I want to ask my grandmother to find some for me; they’re so beautiful!”

”There are so many beautiful flowers outside, why don’t you come out and see them?” Ye Qing asked, ”Isn’t it dull living in the same place for so long?”

Shen Qingyi shook her head and said, ”I also want to come out, but my grandmother won’t let me leave the Shen Family Manor.”

”Ah?” Ye Qing was even more astonished, and said, ”Have you really been living in such a small place for over twenty years?”

Shen Qingyi thought for a moment and said, ”The Shen Family Manor isn’t small; it’s much bigger than my uncle’s house!”

”Even if it’s big, it’s still just a village!” Ye Qing urgently said, ”You’re a person, how can you always live in one place? What is your grandmother thinking? How can she keep you confined to such a place?”

”Grandmother means well,” Shen Qingyi shook her head and said, ”Grandmother says there are too many bad people outside, and if I go out, I might encounter them, so that’s why she doesn’t let me go. See, I just came out for a short while and already met a bad person. Grandmother was right after all!”
