Urban Martial Saint

From a distance, Li Lianshan was stunned, looking at those two injured men and muttering, ”Is this... are these still humans? The Fire Butterfly commands and they go kill without a second thought, how... how insane is that?”

Ye Qing was also profoundly shocked. The loyalty of these men to the Fire Butterfly had reached a terrifying level. With a single word from the Fire Butterfly, these men were willing to risk their lives for her, something only special forces soldiers could do.

Soldiers regard obeying orders as their sacred duty, willing to charge up a mountain of swords or plunge into a sea of fire at just one command. But how could these men, who were nothing more than small-time thugs from the underworld, display such high loyalty?

Seeing how crazed these men were, the subordinates of Xu Yingshi were also scared stiff. They grew weak in their fighting, and the outcome need not be said. More than eighty people were put to flight by a group of just over twenty.

At that moment, a shrill scream came from behind the rockery, followed by an old man gripping a long knife in his right hand and holding a head in his left as he walked out. The head was Xu Yingshi’s!

”My god!” Li Lianshan was shocked once again, looking at that head, he couldn’t help but exclaim, ”Is this damn thing a period drama? In what era do people still behead others?”

”I’ve changed my mind...” Qin Jing also began to mumble softly, ”I might as well stick with Xiao Hua’er, the girls in the city are too ruthless!”

Chen Jun Hou San Yuepeng and others widened their eyes in disbelief. They had seen cruel people before, but never to this extent. The likes of Fire Butterfly, in Jiuchuan County, was absolutely someone no one dared to provoke!

Ye Qing’s face was full of astonishment as well. The people the Fire Butterfly brought with her this time seemed very extraordinary. Moreover, it was clear she didn’t come to kill Xu Yingshi over some small matter; she had come prepared to eliminate Xu Yingshi. What exactly was going on? Could there be some grievance between Xu Yingshi and her? Yet, it seemed like Xu Yingshi didn’t even recognize the Fire Butterfly, so how could there be any grudge between them?

Seeing Xu Yingshi beheaded, his subordinates immediately panicked as if they had lost their backbone. Their fighting spirit dropped several levels, and they were beaten back repeatedly by those twenty-odd men. In the end, they dropped their weapons and fled, no longer daring to fight the Fire Butterfly’s men. Those who had been injured by the car earlier were also crawling desperately out, not daring to linger a moment more.

Upstairs, Li Wenyuan was incredulous, exclaiming, ”Damn, more than a hundred people, just like that, scattered by a few?”

Shangguan Tian frowned, looking at those men downstairs and after a long silence, he said solemnly, ”These people, they’re not from the Eastern Province!”

”What do you mean by that?” Li Wenyuan asked, looking closely at those men, he couldn’t see anything special about them.

”Look carefully at the knives they’re using...” Shangguan Tian said gravely, ”These aren’t ordinary Mountain-splitter Knives, but Horse-cutter Swords. These Horse-cutter Swords were the preferred weapons of the Ludong Resounding Horse, renowned for their incredible power.”

”Ludong Resounding Horse?” Li Wenyuan’s face changed. Being the oldest and most knowledgeable in the room, he had never seen this Ludong Resounding Horse.

”According to my father, the Ludong Resounding Horse, Pao from Shu, Northwest Bandits and Knife-bearing Guests of the Mongolian District are among the oldest black gang factions. Among these, Ludong Resounding Horse has the strongest combat force, while Pao from Shu traveled the furthest. As the saying goes, ’Without Ludong Resounding Horse crossing the borders, the Pao of Shu spread all over the world!’” Pi Junchao, now forgetting his grudge with Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan, said in astonishment, ”It’s said that the Xikou Fire Butterfly is the goddaughter of the first Red Robe Ao Wuchang of Shu, and the blood sister of Ludong White Horse Chen San...”

Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan exchanged a look, both of their complexions changing. Previously, they had thought it was just a legend, not to be believed. But today, they finally realized that most of the legend was probably true. Ludong White Horse Chen San was the only figure who could command the Ludong Resounding Horse nowadays, and now that such a group had appeared under Fire Butterfly’s command, the relationship between Chen San and the Fire Butterfly was self-evident.

In fact, they only knew Fire Butterfly’s nickname, and were unaware that Fire Butterfly also had the name Chen Si. If they had known this, they would have believed it long ago.

”The goddaughter of Ao Wuchang, the blood sister of Chen San...” Li Wenyuan paused, then said solemnly, ”There’s also a rumor that she’s the disciple of Meng District General Helian Tiehua. All these identities combined...”

Li Wenyuan didn’t continue, but the mere thought of these combined identities was enough to give him shivers. Leaving aside the unfathomable character of Helian Tiehua, the first Red Robe Ao Wuchang from Shu and Ludong White Horse Chen San were both notable tyrants. With the backing of these two, Fire Butterfly was enough to tread all over the country unopposed!

Shangguan Tian said solemnly, ”With so many identities, even the Xihang Shen Family might not dare to lay a hand on her!”

Hearing Shangguan Tian’s words, Li Wenyuan and Pi Junchao stopped talking, fixating their gaze on the courtyard outside. With such a background, the Fire Butterfly must be a heaven-defying figure; no wonder she could so decisively kill Xu Yingshi. It wasn’t just that she killed Xu Yingshi; even if she had killed Sanhe Gang’s Xu Cunxiao, no one would have thought it improper, given her strength.

The main concern for the three was what the Fire Butterfly was doing here. Was she really here to kill Xu Yingshi, or was she here to help Ye Qing? None of them wanted it to be the latter, because if Fire Butterfly was indeed here to help Ye Qing, then Ye Qing’s opening ceremony tonight was likely to be undisrupted!

Downstairs, as Xu Yingshi’s men fled in total disarray, Fire Butterfly didn’t show the slightest intention of pursuing them. She casually took the head handed over by the old man, glanced at it briefly, and then handed it to a girl beside her.

”Get a nice box to put it in and send it to that old fart Xu Cunxiao,” Fire Butterfly ordered nonchalantly, as if it wasn’t a head but some sort of gift.

The girl found a bag and packed the severed head inside as if it was just a gift, showing no sign of fear or disgust.

Fire Butterfly casually grabbed a few pieces of paper to wipe the blood off her hands, then turned to look at Ye Qing.

”Mr. Ye, I apologize for making a mess of your place,” Fire Butterfly said calmly.

”Sister, you’re too polite, it’s no problem!” Ye Qing replied. ”You must be exhausted from your journey, why don’t you go upstairs and rest.”

”No rush!” Fire Butterfly waved her hand dismissively, turning her gaze to Chen Tian and the others standing outside.

Chen Tian had originally wanted to help Xu Yingshi, but after witnessing Fire Butterfly’s frenzied methods, he was frozen with fear. Hesitating for a moment outside, Xu Yingshi’s life was lost. Naturally, Chen Tian didn’t dare to offer his help anymore; he certainly didn’t wish to leave his own life behind as well.

Chen Tian was hesitating whether to leave with his men. If they simply left, it would be a colossal loss of face for today. If they stayed, he didn’t know how to proceed either because he was genuinely afraid of Fire Butterfly.

Suddenly seeing Fire Butterfly look in his direction, Chen Tian shuddered involuntarily, his body tensed up, and his hand sneakily reached for the car door handle, ready to escape into the car at a moment’s notice.

”You!” Fire Butterfly pointed at Chen Tian, whose body immediately went soft with his calves trembling.

”Come here!” Fire Butterfly called out a second time. Chen Tian had wanted to turn and run, but somehow, he found himself shakily making his way into the venue, walking up to Fire Butterfly. He was clearly terrified of Fire Butterfly yet dared not disobey her command, a display of psychological dominance. Deep down, he had already lost completely!

Everyone watched as Chen Tian obediently walked up to Fire Butterfly, each one of them astonished, silently marveling at Chen Tian’s audacity. But after seeing his trembling legs, they all understood that it wasn’t bravery that brought him there, but sheer fear, keeping him from even attempting to flee.

”Amazing, she coaxed that guy inside with just three words. Damn, I have so much respect for her!” Li Lianshan couldn’t help but express his admiration to Ye Qing once again.

”So you are Chen Tian?” Fire Butterfly looked at Chen Tian and said, ”Were you planning to block the entrance with your men as well?”

”No... no... not at all...” Chen Tian hurriedly shook his hands, saying, ”I’ll have them leave right away, I’ll get them out of here...”

”Leave? Why?” Fire Butterfly glared at him and said, ”Are you here to celebrate the opening or to cause trouble? You haven’t even entered the door and you’re ready to run away with your men?”

Chen Tian was momentarily stunned, then hurriedly said, ”I... of course, I came to offer congratulations. Mr. Ye, Mr. Li, I wish you... wish you great prosperity with your opening...”

”Thank you, Brother Chen!” Ye Qing replied with a light smile, seeing that Fire Butterfly was helping him out.

”Since you’ve come to offer your congratulations, then bring your men inside. What are they doing, waiting outside to block traffic?” Fire Butterfly said.

Chen Tian shuddered and quickly motioned for his men to drive the cars in, standing far at the edge of the venue, no longer daring to block the traffic.

”There isn’t much space upstairs, take a few of your trusted men and go up, the rest can be accommodated by Mr. Ye,” Fire Butterfly paused, then continued, ”Mr. Ye, do you have enough staff? If not, since Chen Tian has brought quite a few people, you can have them start by cleaning up the yard, right?”

Without waiting for Ye Qing to answer, Fire Butterfly turned to Chen Tian and asked, ”How about it? Can you help out?”

Chen Tian was seething internally at being asked to have his men clean up, as if Fire Butterfly was treating him like a mere servant. Yet, when he saw her eyes, he immediately softened and nodded repeatedly, ”No problem, no problem. You guys, hurry up and help clean up the place...”

”Big brother!” a man said in frustration, ”Is this really our job?”

The girl holding the head by Fire Butterfly’s side glared at him, causing the man to immediately shut his mouth and quickly turn to lead others in tidying up the scene.
