Urban Martial Saint

The woman at the intersection was even more astonished than Ye Qing; she thought she was already a goner. Unexpectedly, a man appeared out of nowhere and saved her with such a miraculous technique.

As she watched the man put away the long knife, then glanced at the blood and organs scattered on the ground, and the wrecked vehicle nearby, the woman had forgotten to scream. It took her a while before she finally bent over, crouched on the ground, and burst into tears, covering her face.

The man put the long knife back into the wooden box and, seeing the woman crying, couldn’t help but angrily say, ”What are you crying for, standing in the middle of the road, do you want to die!”

The woman was startled; she never expected that the man who had saved her would speak so fiercely. She opened her mouth but dared not say anything, only managing to push her child away from the street hurriedly while sobbing.

The man glanced at her, hugged the wooden box in his arms, and was about to leave. At that moment, Ye Qing also got out of the car and blocked the man’s path, saying, ”This friend…”

”Move aside!” The man shouted coldly, not giving Ye Qing a chance to speak.

Ye Qing earnestly replied, ”This friend, I mean no harm, I just want to…”

”Get lost!” The man heightened his tone.

Ye Qing frowned slightly. Since the man could save someone, why was it so hard to communicate with him?

”I…” Ye Qing wanted to speak again, but the man suddenly grabbed his wrist and attempted to throw him away.

Ye Qing felt a strong force that nearly made him lose his balance. Knowing something was wrong, he hurriedly blocked the man’s hand using a technique from the Xingyi Quan he had just learned that afternoon. As Tie Yongwen had said, Bajiquan is primarily offensive and does not have many defensive moves, but Xingyi Quan has more defensive techniques.

The man’s hand was blocked by Ye Qing, who then reacted with surprise before attempting to grab Ye Qing’s wrist again. Ye Qing bent his left hand and pushed the man’s hand away once more. Thus, the two exchanged six or seven moves, with Ye Qing using the Xingyi Quan techniques he had just learned. Though he was not as strong, his skills were commendable.

After several exchanges, the man withdrew his hand and did not continue the confrontation. He looked Ye Qing up and down and asked, ”What is Tie Yongwen to you?”

”He is a senior of mine!” Ye Qing replied truthfully.

”A senior?” The man frowned slightly, was silent for a moment, then said, ”If that’s the case, we are not enemies. There’s no need to fight further!”

Having said that, the man, holding the box, turned and walked into the nearby alley. Ye Qing wanted to follow, but the man suddenly extended the box in his hand, blocking Ye Qing’s chest, and said coldly, ”If there’s anything, let Tie Yongwen come to me. You, junior, are not qualified yet!”

Ye Qing stepped back, bowed, and said, ”I just wanted to thank you, thank you for saving that child!”

The man hesitated, gave Ye Qing a deep look, and without saying anything else, turned and walked into the alley.

Watching the man’s disappearing figure, Ye Qing was filled with questions. Who exactly was this man? His strength seemed extremely formidable, and the knife he carried didn’t look ordinary either. Who really was this man? From his tone, he seemed to know Tie Yongwen and even claimed to be a senior. Yet, looking at his age, he was only in his thirties or forties, how could he compare to Tie Yongwen who was in his sixties or seventies?

With his mind full of questions, but knowing he would not get any answers from this man, Ye Qing decided he would have to ask Tie Yongwen on another day.

As he left the alley, several people were already gathered around, observing the scene in horror. Luo Caiyun’s vehicle had been nearly quartered by the man’s knife, and Fang Tian in the passenger seat had been cleaved in half. Luo Caiyun was also severely injured from the crash, and it looked like she would need to be rushed to the hospital.

Seeing such a situation, Ye Qing sighed. Luo Caiyun truly brought this upon herself. Had she surrendered her son to the police, he might have been sentenced to twenty years or so but would still be alive. Instead, Luo Caiyun chose to evade the law and flee with her son. As a result, Fang Tian died so tragically, and she too was ruined—this was truly a case of reaping what one sows.

It wasn’t long before several police cars rushed over. Since the previous incidents, the efficiency of the Shenchuan City police had improved greatly.

The officers who arrived did not recognize Ye Qing, but they had all heard of his name. After Ye Qing introduced himself, the attitude of these policemen towards him improved a lot, and he almost completely directed the scene.

They first sent Luo Caiyun to the hospital for emergency treatment, and Fang Tian’s body was also picked up; no further autopsy was needed, and it could be sent directly for cremation. Luo Caiyun had injured quite a few people on the road, who were also sent to the hospital. Additionally, the seven armed men were caught and taken away.

Having attempted murder with firearms, although they did not succeed, it was still a capital crime. They were now facing a minimum of twenty years in prison; they had thoroughly been ruined by Luo Caiyun.

As for Luo Caiyun, her situation was even more problematic. Trading guns, hiring killers, holding a gun in the street, crashing into so many people, attempting to protect her son, and causing multiple car accidents. With all these charges combined, she would likely spend the rest of her life in prison.

However, this had at least avenged Wang Tiezhu. Honestly, Ye Qing himself felt that even sentencing Fang Tian to life imprisonment wouldn’t feel satisfactory. But him dying so miserably felt like a fitting retribution for his evil deeds!

After resolving the situation, Ye Qing made a trip to the hospital to inform Wang Tiezhu of Fang Tian’s death.

Upon hearing this, Wang Tiezhu was stunned, remaining speechless for a long time. Ye Qing stayed by his side, offering no excessive words of comfort. This emotional hurdle, only he could overcome by himself; nobody else could help him much.

Meanwhile, the ten venues under Ye Qing’s management were bustling. Lin Mengjie, as the general manager of these ten venues, was taking a few people to inspect them for the first time today. They wanted to check the location of these venues and to understand their conditions to ascertain their revenue situations.

The managers had all witnessed Lin Mengjie’s capabilities. Upon seeing her, they all nodded and bowed, serving her cautiously. However, the real decision-makers in the venues were not just these managers, but also the client managers there, essentially the ”mamasans” who looked after the girls.

Life in the nightlife venues was inseparable from women; thus, every venue had to have women. However, the women who came to these places were not fixed, and to attract customers, each venue maintained a group of women to draw in patrons. Especially the karaoke and nightclub type of venues had even greater demand for these personnel.

And the girls working in the nightlife venues were not alone; they were all organized by a certain client manager and only answered to that client manager. The client managers had their fixed venues, often relying on these places to make a living, and the venues would share profits with them based on the clientele they brought in. Thus, the client managers and the venues were interdependent; the venues couldn’t do without these client managers, and these client managers couldn’t do without the venues.

In Shenchuan City, there were many nightlife venues, but not so many girls. Therefore, the role of client manager was quite a popular in Shenchuan City. Especially those managers who had several popular girls under their management held a high status, and many were even held in higher esteem than the venue managers; they had to be personally pampered by the boss.

The Tycoon was the most profitable among the ten venues under Ye Qing. The manager there was named Quan Kun. He had four client managers under him, and two of these client managers had top stars under them, which made them quite arrogant; they did not even show respect to Quan Kun regularly.

When Ye Qing had just taken over the venues, Quan Kun had been making false accounts daily, embezzling money, which he shared with these four client managers. They originally intended to exploit Ye Qing’s lack of knowledge in nightclub management to swallow all the money and gradually make the venue their own.

However, today Quan Kun attended a meeting, and after returning, he summoned these four client managers and told them that they could no longer embezzle funds from that day on.

These four client managers had never met Lin Mengjie and were not aware of her capabilities; they simply didn’t take her seriously. Upon hearing Quan Kun’s words, they immediately objected.

”Why the hell? Why should whatever she says go? This venue is ours, why can just anyone come in, some unknown floozy, and start bossing us around?” said a woman named Ms. Bo, who had three top stars under her, with many venues wanting to hire her. Thus, she held the strongest attitude in the venue, even more assertive than Quan Kun.

”Ms. Bo is right, this venue was painstakingly built up by us. That Ye guy doesn’t even know how to manage. What kind of result can his people manage?” chimed in a man hurriedly, his name was Erqiang, Ms. Bo’s lover. Though he managed a few girls, none were top stars, so he always relied on Ms. Bo, supporting whatever she said.

Quan Kun was also reluctant to accept Lin Mengjie. The reason he had first summoned these four client managers upon his return was to shift the pressure onto them and then let them deal with Lin Mengjie. As for himself, he could just sit back and watch the fight!

”I think the same, but there’s nothing I can do; it’s Boss Ye’s decision. We are all just employees; what can I do?” Quan Kun shrugged, looking toward another woman.

This woman, named Yunyi, had two top stars under her. Although she had one less than Ms. Bo, she held a key advantage with many girls under her, which allowed her to stand on equal footing with Ms. Bo.
