Ms. Bo sat on the couch without inviting Lin Mengjie to sit, simply taking her time to light up a cigarette and said, ”Okay, now that everyone is here, you can speak!”

With a slight smile, Lin Mengjie said, ”Hello everyone, my name is Lin Mengjie. I have just been brought in from Jiuchuan County by Brother Ye as the new general manager. I am fortunate to meet all of you today and hope for your kind support in the future!”

”Enough of those pleasantries, we’re not fools. All this talk of support is just nonsense. Everyone here is in it for the money, how do you plan to support them? By giving them your money? Nonsense!” Ms. Bo waved her hand dismissively and said, ”Tell me, what do you think of my proposal just now? I want one-third of the profits, what about you, Yunyi?”

”Ms. Bo, although I don’t have as many top cards as you do, I still have quite a number of girls under me. Without a third of the profits, how would it be enough to share with the girls?” Yunyi said with a light smile, ”I also want one-third of the profits!”

”Hmm!” Lin Mengjie nodded and looked over at Erqiang and the remaining client manager, ”And you two?”

The two exchanged glances, and Erqiang laughed, ”We’ll just go with the flow. We can’t compare with Ms. Bo and Sister Yunyi. Thus, we would be happy with ten percent of the earnings each.”

”I see.” Lin Mengjie nodded and said, ”Ms. Bo wants one-third, Yunyi wants one-third, and both of you want ten percent each. That adds up to almost ninety percent of the club’s income. In other words, the remaining ten percent would be Brother Ye’s earnings. Yet this ten percent has to cover the maintenance of the club’s facilities, the wages of the staff, and the usual expenses to maintain order in the club and manage relationships with various parties.”

At this point, Lin Mengjie suddenly covered her mouth and laughed, looking at Ms. Bo and the others, she said, ”I won’t say anything else. What do you all think, is this possible?”

”What’s impossible about it?” Ms. Bo glared and said, ”Brother Ye should consider himself lucky to get even ten percent of the income. Don’t forget, it’s us sisters who are keeping this club going. If I were to leave with my girls right now, the club wouldn’t last three days before collapsing. And Brother Ye wouldn’t be able to recoup a penny of the money he’s invested in this place. Nightclubs are unlike any other business; once the reputation is damaged, it’s difficult to recover. If the club collapses, trying to sell it would get you nowhere!”

Maintaining her composure, Lin Mengjie looked at Ms. Bo and said, ”But if you take all the money, wouldn’t Brother Ye end up with nothing? In business, we should be considerate of each other. No matter what, we shouldn’t drive somebody to a dead end, right?”

”I’m not trying to drive him to a dead end. I just think that we sisters, who have worked in this club for so long, should fight for our own benefits,” Ms. Bo glanced at Lin Mengjie and said, ”I know Boss Ye would be reluctant to share the profits this way. So, I’ve also thought about this, we could pool our money and buy out the club. That way, Boss Ye wouldn’t lose out, and we sisters wouldn’t need to run to other clubs anymore. You know, that’s just too much of a hassle!”

Lin Mengjie slowly nodded, ”So what you’re saying, Ms. Bo, is that you want to take over the club, is that right?”

Ms. Bo gave a cold smile and said, ”Take over is not the word for it, I’m no big shot with the power to take over a club. I just don’t think Brother Ye is suited for this kind of business. The club will collapse eventually if he keeps it, so it might as well be under my management to avoid that. You know, from the construction of this establishment to the present, we have all worked here and put a lot of effort into this club!”

”Very well,” Lin Mengjie nodded and looked towards Yunyi, ”What do you think, Sister Yunyi?”

With a mild smile, Yunyi said, ”If Ms. Bo is willing, I would be ready to come together with her to raise the funds needed to buy the club. As for the price, we can negotiate that in detail!”

Erqiang and the remaining client manager also hurriedly nodded, saying, ”We’re on the same page as Ms. Bo. Manager Lin, please ask Boss Ye to quote a price. If it’s acceptable, the money could reach Brother Ye’s hands in a few days!”

Lin Mengjie smiled faintly without responding to their comments, simply walking slowly to Ms. Bo’s side.

Seeing Lin Mengjie’s calm demeanor made Ms. Bo feel rather uneasy. She took a harsh drag on her cigarette, trying to keep her composure as she said in a cold voice, ”Well? If you can’t make the decision, have Ye come talk to me!”

”Rest assured, I am still capable of making decisions regarding this club. It’s just that there are a few things I would like to ask you about...” As Lin Mengjie spoke, she had already walked up to Ms. Bo and gently placed her hand on Ms. Bo’s shoulder.

Ms. Bo shuddered noticeably, suddenly finding this woman, Lin Mengjie, quite intimidating. She twisted her shoulder to shake off Lin Mengjie’s hand and said, ”Speak up if you have something to say, don’t get touchy-feely!”

”Alright,” Lin Mengjie nodded, took out a stack of photos from her bag, and handed them to Ms. Bo, ”Ms. Bo, could you explain to me what’s going on in these photos?”

”What photos?” Ms. Bo impatiently took the stack of photos, glanced at it, and her complexion instantly changed.

The photos were simple, depicting intimate moments between a man and a woman as well as scenes of them dining affectionately together. The woman was none other than Ms. Bo, and the man, who looked rather formidable, was far more presentable than Erqiang.

Ms. Bo froze for a moment, hurriedly clutched the photos to her legs, and looked at Lin Mengjie in astonishment, ”Where... where did you get these photos?”

Lin Mengjie spoke deliberately, ”Ms. Bo, if I’m not mistaken, the man in the photo is named Chen Shibao, also known as Leopard Head, a member of the Western Province Sanhe Gang.”

”What man?” Erqiang asked in surprise, still unaware that he had been cuckolded. But then again, his relationship with Ms. Bo was purely transactional; there were no real feelings involved to be betrayed.

Ms. Bo was somewhat flustered and glared at Erqiang, ”It’s none of your business, so don’t ask questions!”

Erqiang was even more puzzled, but respecting Ms. Bo’s assertiveness, he didn’t dare to ask anything more and could only look at Lin Mengjie with suspicion.

”What’s the matter, afraid your boy toy finds out?” Lin Mengjie said with a light smile, ”Ms. Bo, if you were bold enough to do it, what’s there to be afraid of admitting?”

Clamping her teeth in anger, Ms. Bo retorted, ”Lin, don’t think for a second that you can threaten me with this stuff. I’ve been in this business long enough to have seen it all. What the hell is this? When I was stripping in a bar, you were probably still nursing. You think you can threaten me with this crap? You must be out of your mind!”

With that, Ms. Bo stood up furiously, ”Girls, let’s go. Damn it, I want to see how long this place lasts without me!”

The three top cards, of course, listened to Ms. Bo and immediately prepared to leave with her. Unexpectedly, Lin Mengjie stepped forward, grabbed Ms. Bo’s hair and yanked her back.

”You’re leaving before we’re through talking—how rude!” Lin Mengjie forced Ms. Bo back into her chair.

”You filthy whore, how dare you hit me!” Ms. Bo was furious, trying to stand up and scratch Lin Mengjie while the three girls behind her turned their indignant gaze on Lin Mengjie, ready to come to Ms. Bo’s defense.

Lin Mengjie casually grabbed an ashtray from nearby and smashed it over Ms. Bo’s forehead, causing a lump to form immediately.

Seizing Ms. Bo’s hair, she slapped her face before threatening the three top cards with the ashtray, ”Stand still, all of you, or I’ll ruin your faces!”

The three top cards didn’t dare to move, their looks being their livelihood. If their faces were ruined, what would they do then?

”Damn whore, you’re asking for it!” Erqiang shouted as he stood up, ready to hit Lin Mengjie.

Lin Mengjie flipped a glass coffee table next to her, sending the sound of shattering glass echoing out the door.

Yue Peng and his men, who were standing by the door, barged in upon hearing the commotion. Seeing Erqiang swearing and picking up a wine bottle, Yue Peng rushed forward, snatched the bottle from Erqiang’s hand, and smashed it on his head.

Erqiang cried out in pain and fell to the ground, where Yue Peng’s men continued to punch and kick him, beating him until he screamed for mercy.

Yunyi and the account manager inside initially wanted to help, but seeing the situation, both froze in place. Including Ms. Bo’s three top cards, they all just stood there, not daring to step forward an inch.

”Alright, stop hitting him!” Lin Mengjie waved her hand casually, ”This is our place, and everything in here belongs to us. What if something gets broken? Just throw him out the window!”

The people inside took a sharp inhale at her words. Lin Mengjie may have been smiling, but her actions were ruthless. Not to speak of her treatment of Ms. Bo, she was even harsher on Erqiang. They were on the third floor—for goodness’ sake, wouldn’t he break his legs if thrown out?

Yue Peng and the others were very obedient to Lin Mengjie’s commands. At her words, they lifted Erqiang up. Yue Peng went over to open the window, and they carried Erqiang to the edge.

As Erqiang saw himself being carried over, he realized these people weren’t just threatening him and immediately went limp with fear, begging loudly, ”Manager Lin, Manager Lin, I was wrong, please spare me, please, I know I was wrong…”

Lin Mengjie didn’t pay him any mind and just calmly looked at Ms. Bo, who was sitting holding her head, pale as death, grinding her teeth, ”Lin, you’re tough, you have the numbers, I’ll admit defeat this time. Whatever you want, just say it. Let’s settle things clearly, right here, right now!”

”Ms. Bo, I think you’re a bit confused!” Lin Mengjie shrugged, ”I didn’t come here to talk to you today. I came here to talk to these two ’friends’.”
