Urban Martial Saint

Tie Yongwen’s excited appearance surprised Ye Qing greatly. He placed the medicine bottle directly into Tie Yongwen’s hand, and said, ”Of course, you can.”

After receiving the bottle, Tie Yongwen stared at the blue-and-white porcelain vial for a good while, his expression growing even more excited. He took several deep breaths and, with a slight tremble, opened the vial.

Ye Qing sat in a chair next to him, but as soon as the bottle was opened, Ye Qing could smell a refreshing medicinal fragrance that gave a sense of indescribable comfort throughout the body, as if everything had relaxed.

This medicine inside the blue-and-white porcelain vial had such a fragrance?

Ye Qing was very surprised and looked carefully. Tie Yongwen, holding the vial, also seemed to be intoxicated by the scent of the medicine. After a good while, he slowly nodded and said, ”Indeed, it is the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill!”

”What is that?” Ye Qing asked in surprise. Tie Yongwen actually recognized this medicine?

”The Ziyu Chenxiang Pill can be said to be one of the three great treasures of the Xihang Shen Family!” Tie Yongwen said, shaking the little vial in his hand and laughing, ”It’s a rare medicine. After taking it, it has a miraculous effect on any disease or injury. Even someone on the brink of death, if they take one, will have their life preserved—it’s the Xihang Shen Family’s holy medicine. However, this medicine can only be made with the Purple Jade Agarwood Tree that the Xihang Shen Family possesses as an ingredient, and only three vials can be produced each year. Even people within the family may not see one, and outsiders can forget about even getting a whiff. I was young when I was fortunate to see Elder Shen Da take one out. It truly is a wonder drug!”

As he spoke, Tie Yongwen looked at the small bottle in his hand and said, ”Nephew Ye, where did you obtain this bottle of medicine?”

Ye Qing still did not realize how precious this medicine was, and upon hearing Tie Yongwen’s words, he became somewhat bewildered. He thought back to the time when Shen Qingyi asked him to take the medicine and how generous Shen Qingyi seemed to him.

”This... this belongs to Miss Shen, it must have been left with me!” Ye Qing replied.

”No wonder!” Tie Yongwen suddenly realized and nodded, and said, ”Other than the precious gem of the Shen Family, who else could carry around a whole bottle of it? It seems that Old Madam Shen truly dotes on her granddaughter. Only three bottles are produced each year, and she carries one with her. Looking at the entire Shen Family, who else could enjoy such treatment?”

Ye Qing, looking at the medicine bottle, said, ”So, this item is originally so valuable. In that case, Miss Shen must be very anxious about losing this bottle of medicine. Uncle Tie, could you please help me hand this bottle over to someone from the Shen Family?”

Tie Yongwen was startled for a moment, looking at Ye Qing and said, ”Nephew Ye, are you sure you want to return this bottle of medicine to the Shen Family? Let me tell you, just this bottle of medicine, if you sell it to someone who knows its value, you could definitely sell it for three to five hundred million without a problem!”

”What?” Ye Qing was baffled once again. Something in such a small bottle was worth so much money?

”I know you doubt it, but it’s true!” Tie Yongwen said, ”Let me give you the simplest example. The Ghost-faced Judge charges at least thirty million for a hit in the teahouses. Making money for him is not a hard thing, but the jobs he has to take on are definitely not easy either. What to do when he gets injured, what to do if he encounters danger?”

As he spoke, Tie Yongwen shook the medicine bottle in his hand and said, ”Ziyu Chenxiang Pills are not only miraculous for healing but also allow a martial artist to rapidly recover strength and Inner Strength, essentially giving them an extra life. This bottle has about fifty or so pills, and each pill is like having an extra life. For someone like the Ghost-faced Judge, spending ten million to buy a way out and ensure his safety, do you think he’d be willing?”

Ye Qing was unaware of this reasoning but began to see the value of the bottle of medicine after Tie Yongwen’s explanation.

”Most importantly, every year there are people who go to the Xihang Shen Family and offer a fortune for the medicine. A single Ziyu Chenxiang Pill is already being sold for twenty million on the black market, yet they are so sought-after that they simply can’t be bought with money!” Tie Yongwen looked at the bottle in his hand and said, ”The Ziyu Chenxiang Pills of the Shen Family are not for sale. Only three to five pills make it to the outside world each year, and so many clamor for them. It’s not something money can solve!”

Ye Qing, looking at the medicine bottle, felt even more shocked inside. No wonder the Shen Family had such strength in the Southern Six Provinces, they didn’t need to do any other business—selling medicine alone was enough to make a fortune.

”Now, have you decided if you still want to return this medicine to them?” Tie Yongwen asked Ye Qing with a smile.

Without any hesitation, Ye Qing nodded and said, ”This is Miss Shen’s property, it is right to return it to her!”

”Good!” Tie Yongwen laughed heartily and clapped, saying, ”You lad, I really didn’t misjudge you. What’s ours, we keep. What’s not ours, we do not desire—that’s the true nature of a man.”

Saying this, Tie Yongwen placed the medicine bottle on the table and laughed, ”Of course, we should return the medicine to them, but I really dislike the temperament of the Shen family. They will also come by later to claim this bottle. Whether they can have it will depend on their attitude!”

After the incident with Shen Baichuan, Tie Yongwen was very angry with the people of the Shen family and no longer felt the slightest bit of fondness for them.

Ye Qing also truly felt no fondness for that Shen Baichuan. If the medicine had belonged to him, Ye Qing would rather throw it away than return it. However, since the medicine belonged to Shen Qingyi, it naturally had to be returned to her.

”By the way, you met that person last time, didn’t you?” Tie Yongwen turned to Ye Qing and said, ”There were too many people yesterday, and I didn’t get a chance to ask in detail. Tell me everything about that person, from beginning to end!”

It appeared that Tie Yongwen, like Huangfu Ziyu, was also very concerned about that man’s affairs. Ye Qing didn’t hide anything and recounted the condition of that man from start to finish.

After listening to Ye Qing, Tie Yongwen fell silent for a while, as if he was contemplating something. After a long pause, he finally looked at Ye Qing, ”Did he really intend to seriously harm Shen Qingyi when he heard of Third Brother’s death?”

Ye Qing nodded. At that time, the man was bringing down a wooden box on Shen Qingyi’s head. Ye Qing had managed to block it in time, and it hit his shoulder. Even with Ye Qing’s resistance to being hit, the wooden box had still dislocated his arm. Just think, if that wooden box had landed on Shen Qingyi’s head, what then? That girl, so weak she couldn’t truss a chicken, probably couldn’t withstand even one hit!

”How could he have become like this?” Tie Yongwen frowned, muttering to himself, ”Could the legends be true, that the Ink Pattern Black Gold Blade can devour one’s humanity?”

Hearing this, Ye Qing couldn’t help but be greatly astonished and curiously asked, ”Uncle Tie, what are you talking about?”

Tie Yongwen glanced at Ye Qing, slowly shook his head, and said, ”This matter has nothing to do with you. It’s better if you don’t ask. By the way, why don’t you go out and spar with Tianyi for a while and practice some Xingyi Quan? I’ve already contacted the people of the Shen family; they’ll probably arrive soon. When they do, you can sit together, and I’ll help you resolve this matter!”

Having said that, Tie Yongwen handed the medicine bottle to Ye Qing, ”You hold on to this. It will be better if you give it to the Shen family’s people later. But you need to watch my expressions and act accordingly. If the people of the Shen family are still so arrogant, then this medicine, hmph, we’ll just keep it!”

Tie Yongwen was naturally magnanimous. Although the Ziyu Chenxiang Pills were precious, he didn’t have the slightest greedy thought. What he valued more was the attitude of the people of the Shen family!

Ye Qing pocketed the medicine bottle and went to the adjoining courtyard, where Gao Shusen was standing to the side and Du Tianyi was there leading others in their practice.

Despite his young age, Du Tianyi was the strongest among these brothers and was greatly respected by the third generation of disciples. With him leading the practice, everyone was more enthusiastic in their learning and achieved more with less effort than if someone else was teaching.

Seeing Ye Qing arrive, Gao Shusen and a few other brothers quickly came up to greet him. They were thoroughly convinced by Ye Qing’s strength. Now that Ye Qing was almost considered half a disciple of Tie Yongwen, everyone treated him as a brother, and they were extremely warm when they saw him.

However, the third-generation disciples still felt somewhat disgruntled when they saw Ye Qing, as they had all suffered big losses at his hands. Of course, even if they felt disgruntled, they could only hide it, as several elders treated Ye Qing very well.

After exchanging a few pleasantries with everyone, Ye Qing sparred with Du Tianyi on the grounds. As before, when it came to Xingyi Quan, Ye Qing was of course no match for Du Tianyi. However, if it came to Bajiquan, Ye Qing could actually hold his own against Du Tianyi for a while. Du Tianyi could now perform Internal Energy Release, which Ye Qing couldn’t match, so there was still some gap in their strengths.

In the Xingyi Martial Arts School, Ye Qing was sparring with the others. Meanwhile, at the Lin family, Shen Qianyue was sitting by the bed of Shen Baichuan, who was pale-faced, having been seriously injured by Tie Yongwen’s punch.

In fact, Shen Baichuan’s injury could have been dealt with just a single Ziyu Chenxiang Pill. But he knew his status within the family wasn’t significant enough to qualify for consuming the Ziyu Chenxiang Pill. Even for Shen Qianyue, who was a key figure nurtured by the family, the annual allotment was just two pills, and those were meant to enhance one’s strength. Unless he was on the brink of death, he would definitely not get the chance to consume a Ziyu Chenxiang Pill.

”Big brother, I just can’t accept it!” Shen Baichuan clenched his teeth angrily, ”What is that Ye Qing worth, how dare he stand beside Ms. Qingyi? His presence by her side is simply the biggest insult. I’ve inquired, before he was no different than a beggar, relying on the bitch Huangfu Ziyu’s help to climb up, and now he even dares to oppose our Shen family; damn it, what kind of crap is he!”

Shen Qianyue slowly shook his head, ”Baichuan, how others rise up is none of our business. You focus on healing and stop thinking about these useless matters.”

”Alright, let’s not talk about that bastard’s background then, let’s talk about Ms. Qingyi!” Shen Baichuan continued, ”Ye Qing’s strength isn’t much different from mine, so how come he was able to save Ms. Qingyi from that man’s hands?”
