Urban Martial Saint

Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan were both thinking about this issue, their hearts filled with concern. Therefore, they couldn’t sleep at all at night. While Ye Qing went back to sleep, the two of them, like thieves, quietly met on the outskirts of the city to discuss this matter.

Shangguan Tian was a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties, of average build, with a kind face. Compared to his brother Shangguan Qing’s aggressive demeanor, Shangguan Tian was much more amiable. However, when Li Wenyuan saw him, he didn’t let his guard down at all. Looking at his expression, his nerves were clearly on edge.

In Shenchuan City, the Tianqing Gang was undoubtedly the top gang and that was without question. Although in recent years the one taking care of external affairs had been the Second Gang Leader, Shangguan Qing, everyone knew that the Tianqing Gang was truly managed by the unassuming Shangguan Tian.

Li Wenyuan knew deep down that even though Shangguan Tian seldom made public appearances, he was hundreds to thousands of times stronger than Shangguan Qing, who often appeared in public. The strength and position that the Tianqing Gang had today were all thanks to Shangguan Tian alone. Shangguan Qing was at best a fierce general.

Now, even Shangguan Tian had personally intervened, which showed how seriously he took Ye Qing.

It was no wonder, since Ye Qing had caused so much trouble in less than two months in Shenchuan City. He stood up to the Lin family without falling behind. He captured the international thief He Ziqiang, forced the major businessman Yang Shitao out of Shenchuan City, crippled Ding Shaoyan, a direct heir of the Ding Family, and yet the Ding Family didn’t pursue the matter. Additionally, both the Poisonous Mantis and the Fire Butterfly helped him, and even Tie Yongwen personally protected him. With so many accolades combined, even Shangguan Tian couldn’t help but change his expression!

Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan had met three times before, but this was their first private meeting. After exchanging a few pleasantries, they went straight to the point and began discussing the Fierce Tiger Gang’s movements that night.

Shangguan Tian said, ”I heard that this Pi Junchao and Ye Qing are at loggerheads. Ye Qing partnered with Li Lianshan to take over the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena from the Fierce Tiger Gang, which is the most profitable venue for them. Logically speaking, the Fierce Tiger Gang should really hate Ye Qing, so why would they suddenly send someone to help him now?”

Li Wenyuan shook his head and said, ”I can’t figure this out either; could it be that Ye Qing persuaded Pi Junchao to form an alliance with him?”

Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan looked at each other, both feeling that it was unlikely. After thinking for a long time, Li Wenyuan said in a deep voice, ”No matter what the reason, the fact that Pi Junchao is sending people to protect Li Lianshan means he is helping Ye Qing. This matter, no matter what, can’t be underestimated!”

”Does Gang Leader Li have any suggestions?” Shangguan Tian asked.

”Ever since the Tiger King died, the Fierce Tiger Gang has been like scattered sand, not worth considering. But Pi Junchao is bent on revitalizing the Fierce Tiger Gang to regain a tripartite balance with us. I find that idea laughable!” Li Wenyuan said gravely, ”The Fierce Tiger Gang was only a small gang originally; it was only made significant by the Tiger King, and being named one of the three major gangs was already giving them face. Now that the Tiger King is dead and the gang has disbanded, they no longer qualify to stand on equal footing with us. Pi Junchao’s actions are clearly a challenge to our authority. I think we can’t sit idly by and let him continue to cause trouble!”

Li Wenyuan made it clear that they needed to take action against Pi Junchao to prevent him from revitalizing the Fierce Tiger Gang.

Shangguan Tian, however, furrowed his brows, pondered for a while, and said, ”I think, first of all, we need to figure out exactly how Ye Qing got Pi Junchao to help him. Pi Junchao is no fool; Ye Qing must have either promised him something or threatened him with something else. Otherwise, he definitely wouldn’t help Ye Qing. Taking down Pi Junchao isn’t hard, but what I’m afraid of is that if we push Pi Junchao too hard, he might actually join forces with Ye Qing. With Ye Qing’s cunning and strength, coupled with the power of the Fierce Tiger Gang, it won’t be easy to suppress him then!”

Li Wenyuan thought for a moment and said, ”Do you mean that we should investigate this matter first? But the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena is about to open. If we don’t resolve this before it opens, it will be hard to do anything once the arena is operational!”

”You don’t need to worry about that!” Shangguan Tian said, ”The opening of the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena might not even require our disruption; certainly, someone will make trouble. Last time, Ye Qing scared off the gangs from other provinces with his strategy; those people won’t take losses lying down. They might have been quiet recently, but I guess they’re just waiting for the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena to open. Once it does, they will immediately come and make trouble, and then whether it can open will be another matter!”

”That’s also true!” Li Wenyuan nodded and said, ”Then… should we first send someone to investigate this matter? However, this kind of thing is hard to investigate, right? If Ye has really formed an alliance with Pi Junchao, then he will definitely keep it tightly secret, and even if we investigate, we won’t find out much!”

”If we can’t find anything, then it means there’s something fishy!” Shangguan Tian said with a faint smile, ”If Pi Junchao really intends to ally with Ye Qing, then we shouldn’t be polite to him anymore. Ye Qing can take over the Fierce Tiger Gang, sure. But before it reaches his hands, I intend to turn the Fierce Tiger Gang into an empty shell. With that shell, let’s see how he can compete with us!”

Hearing Shangguan Tian’s confident words, Li Wenyuan was also overjoyed and said, ”Well said, let Ye Qing take over an empty shell. If he can’t take power from the Fierce Tiger Gang, he shouldn’t even dream of standing with us in Shenchuan City. No matter how big he gets, ultimately, he’s just a small time hoodlum!”

Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan discussed some more strategies to deal with Ye Qing and then each took their own car back home. That night, the two of them were busy, but Ye Qing slept very comfortably. After all, his visit to Pi Junchao was mainly a show for Shangguan Tian and Li Wenyuan. If these two hadn’t met and had a meeting, then Ye Qing’s plan wouldn’t have achieved its effect!

The following morning, Ye Qing got up early, went downstairs, and ran a few laps in the hotel’s backyard with Black Bear. Just as he returned to the hotel entrance ready to go in for breakfast, he saw two cars rush into the courtyard. One of them was undoubtedly Zhao Chengshuang’s beloved car. No need to say, it was definitely Zhao Chengshuang arriving!

”Hey, Ye Zi!” Zhao Chengshuang poked his head out from the co-driver’s seat and waved continuously at Ye Qing. This guy’s injuries hadn’t healed yet and he still used crutches during this period, but he was much better than before.

”This early?” Ye Qing wondered, knowing that Zhao Chengshuang wasn’t an early riser.

Zhao Chengshuang said helplessly, ”I myself wouldn’t wake up this early, but some people do, and there’s nothing I can do about it!”

”Cousin, what are you talking about again?” An annoyed voice came from the car behind, and Lin Huayu got out of the car behind, hopped over to Ye Qing’s side, and said, ”Ye, I haven’t seen you for so long—I’ve missed you so much!”

As she spoke, Lin Huayu hugged Ye Qing’s arm without any hesitation, which made Ye Qing somewhat embarrassed.

”See what I mean!” Zhao Chengshuang shrugged his shoulders and said, ”Someone missed you too much, and I had no choice but to bring her to see you!”

Lin Huayu had noticeably lost weight recently, and seeing the slight exhaustion on her face, Ye Qing also felt somewhat emotional. He gently patted Lin Huayu’s shoulder and said, ”How is it going, living in Xi Hang?”

”Don’t even mention it, I was almost suffocating!” Lin Huayu immediately waved her hands and shook her head, saying, ”You have no idea what life I was leading there. I was cooped up on an island all this time without stepping off it even for a moment. Every day, the same few people were all I saw, other than watching TV, just walking around the island—it was so boring. If I didn’t come back, I think I would have gone crazy!”

Ye Qing exclaimed in surprise, ”Why are you still living on an island?”

”Of course, my grandmother’s house is on a small island!” Lin Huayu replied, ”The entire island belongs to my grandmother’s family, and there are quite a few people living there, all part of my grandmother’s family!”

Ye Qing said, ”Wow, so your grandmother’s family is quite large!”

Zhao Chengshuang added, ”The Xihang Shen Family, of course, has a lot of people!”

”Is this family really that big?” Ye Qing wondered.

”Damn, you don’t know about the Xihang Shen Family?” Zhao Chengshuang’s eyes widened as he said, ”Don’t joke!”

”Ah?” Ye Qing was stunned before saying, ”Is this... is the Shen Family famous? I’ve really never heard of them!”

Before Zhao Chengshuang could reply, a cold voice suddenly came from the side, ”Hmph, not even knowing about the Xihang Shen Family, such ignorant pitifulness. Did you just emerge from the mountains, or did you just migrate back from Africa?”

Ye Qing turned around to look and saw a young man in his early twenties standing not far behind him. The young man’s face was handsome and his eyes were chilling, his mouth cut sharp as a knife, exuding an air of arrogance. His face was full of haughtiness, as if no one else was worthy of his attention. When looking at Zhao Chengshuang, he merely glanced from the corner of his eye. As for Ye Qing, he practically used his eyelashes to look!

Lin Huayu pouted and looked at the young man discontentedly, saying, ”Bai Chuan, how can you speak like this?”

The young man replied coldly, ”What I said is the truth, isn’t it? Is there anyone in this world who doesn’t know about the Xihang Shen Family?”

Standing beside Ye Qing, Black Bear suddenly said, ”I’ve also never heard of the Xihang Shen Family!”

The young man’s expression changed, and he looked at Black Bear with cold eyes, saying sternly, ”Hmph, no wonder you two are together, both so ignorant. Not knowing about the Xihang Shen Family, what right do you have to live in the South?”

Ye Qing’s brows furrowed slightly; the young man’s tone was too arrogant, which made him feel uncomfortable.

”Not knowing about the Xihang Shen Family means we can’t live in the South? What kind of reasoning is that?” Ye Qing coldly replied, ”Could it be that the Xihang Shen Family is so overbearing that everyone must know their name?”
