Urban Martial Saint

Hearing this, everyone was suddenly overjoyed.

When Lin Mengjie brought up the issues with their accounting, they had actually already given up hope. If Lin Mengjie took those accounts to Ye Qing, they were going to die a very ugly death.

To everyone’s surprise, Lin Mengjie did not take the account records to Ye Qing, but instead magnanimously told them that they would overlook the past. The money they had embezzled would no longer be pursued and would be theirs to keep. Moreover, they were allowed to remain as managers of their night clubs, maintaining their salaries while also receiving monthly profit sharing. This was much better than the treatment offered by their previous bosses, so naturally, everyone was extremely happy.

”Manager Lin, rest assured, we will do our utmost to help you!”

”Exactly, exactly, if there’s anything, just give us the orders and we will definitely get it done for you!”

”Manager Lin, with you leading us, our places are sure to develop better than before!”

Everyone made flattering remarks, and of course, much of it was heartfelt emotion. Although Lin Mengjie had only met with them for less than two hours, everyone had already fully witnessed Lin Mengjie’s methods. This woman could manage so many night clubs in Jiuchuan County, she indeed had some abilities, and was not someone ordinary people can compare with. It seemed that there was a reason Ye Qing had brought her back to manage these ten clubs!

Lin Mengjie smiled faintly; of course, she was not going to fire all these managers. Even with her business strategies, managing ten night clubs on her own was an impossible task. Hence, she staged this act, first letting Ye Qing scare them into thinking they could be fired at any moment. This would unsettle them. Then, Lin Mengjie used the issues from the accounts as leverage, instantly frightening them, and none dared to oppose her anymore.

Afterward, Lin Mengjie brushed off the accounting issues and instead offered them the benefit of profit sharing. This was a strategy of ”slapping them before giving a sweet jujube,” and this strategy was indeed very successful. The managers were basically convinced by Lin Mengjie, making it easier for her to manage them in the future.

”I don’t have that much ability. I’m new here and there are many areas where I need help from all of you. As for the management of your clubs, firstly, I have no experience, and secondly, all of you are more capable than I am, so I won’t interfere anymore. I just hope that in the future, your clubs can gradually warm up and slowly start making a profit instead of continuously losing money like now.” Lin Mengjie paused, then continued, ”If possible, I hope your clubs can have a better income than before. This way, everyone’s profit sharing can also increase. Secondly, we would not let down Boss Ye’s expectations, right?”

”Manager Lin is right!”

”We’ll follow Manager Lin’s lead, whatever you say goes!”

”Exactly, exactly, we’ll listen to you!”

The crowd unanimously agreed, and after Lin Mengjie gave them some instructions, she let them go back.

Ye Qing and Black Bear had been standing outside all along, with Black Bear worrying whether Lin Mengjie could handle this group of managers. Even when Ye Qing was there, he couldn’t do anything about them. It wasn’t that Ye Qing couldn’t deal with them, but disciplining them would mean the end for the clubs, and back then, Ye Qing was unwilling to make that sacrifice. Now, a girl comes along intending to straighten out these managers, wasn’t that a bit too playful?

However, the events that unfolded next took Black Bear by surprise. The doors of the conference room opened, and the managers walked out chatting and laughing, their spirits and mood significantly uplifted from before. When they saw Ye Qing, they all greeted him respectfully, no longer two-faced like before, leaving Black Bear in utter shock.

When Lin Mengjie came out, the managers were even more respectful, nodding and bowing as they greeted her. This scene left Black Bear even more astonished. Lin Mengjie had held a meeting for less than half an hour in the room and had managed to get all the managers under control? How was that possible? What exactly had she done?

Black Bear couldn’t help but scratch his head, looked at Ye Qing beside him, and said in a low voice, ”Captain, where did you find this girl? She seems pretty capable, huh?”

Ye Qing smiled lightly and said, ”Of course!”

After seeing off the managers, Lin Mengjie walked straight over to Ye Qing and said, ”Ye, everything’s been taken care of!”

”Manager Lin, thank you!” Ye Qing sincerely said.

”Ye, as I’ve said before, your matters are my matters, so don’t thank me,” Lin Mengjie paused before adding, ”Oh, by the way, I just gave them a three percent share of the profits in your name. Boss Ye, what do you think about that...”

”No problem!” Ye Qing replied decisively. In fact, he had already planned to give them profit sharing even if Lin Mengjie hadn’t mentioned it. Profit sharing directly tied to business performance would motivate them to manage better. The more Ye Qing earned, the more they could share.

”That’s good!” Lin Mengjie nodded, then said, ”I was afraid you wouldn’t agree. If you didn’t, I would have had to think of something else. But, Boss Ye, you’re pretty generous too. Ten clubs, a three percent monthly profit sharing, that’s going to be about a couple of million distributed, are you really okay with that?”

”The more we can share, the better!” Ye Qing said with a smile. ”The more we share, it means the clubs are earning more money. Plus, when they get a share of the money, they’ll work even harder!”

”That’s a pretty good way of thinking, much better than Uncle Yang’s,” Lin Mengjie said with a mouth curl, then suddenly stepped in front of Ye Qing and said, ”Ye, now that the club matters are settled, when will you take me out for a trip? It’s my first time in Shenchuan City, and I haven’t had the chance to walk around yet!”

”This...” Ye Qing thought for a moment and said, ”I’m afraid not these next few days, I just got back and have some matters to take care of. How about this, I’ll have Xiong Zi take you out for a spin, you know how to drive and Xiong Zi is familiar with this area...”

However, Ye Qing failed to notice that Lin Mengjie’s expression had already changed. She didn’t wait for Ye Qing to finish speaking and suddenly blurted out, ”If you don’t want to, then forget it!”

After speaking, she turned and left without paying any attention to Ye Qing.

Ye Qing was completely baffled, unsure about what was wrong with this young woman. Weren’t they just speaking amiably a moment ago? Why had she suddenly flared up like this? What was going on?

Ye Qing looked toward Black Bear, who was as bewildered as he was, both of them the sort who were clueless about emotions. After exchanging puzzled glances, their faces mirrored the same confusion, still unaware of what had upset Lin Mengjie.

Lin Mengjie had walked all the way to the door and, not seeing Ye Qing come out, she became even more infuriated. Standing at the door for a while, she stamped her foot in frustration, wanting to leave yet unable to bring herself to do so; she could only move to the side and start kicking the stone lion, muttering under her breath, ”Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!”

After kicking for a while, Ye Qing eventually came out and saw her doing this, he couldn’t help but ask in wonder, ”Manager Lin, what are you doing?”

Lin Mengjie replied irritably, ”Practicing my Leg Technique, why, is there a problem with that?”

Ye Qing looked at the innocent stone lion and said, ”You know Leg Technique? However, this is the first time I’ve seen someone use a stone lion to practice it. Doesn’t it hurt when you kick like that?”

”It doesn’t hurt!” said Lin Mengjie defiantly, and with force, she delivered another kick, but unfortunately, she accidentally struck her foot, immediately letting out a sharp scream in pain.

”What happened?” Ye Qing hurried over, Lin Mengjie had already squatted down on the ground. She was wearing high heels that exposed her toes, and when she kicked the stone lion, she had accidentally hit her toes against it, causing so much pain that she was nearly in tears.

”What’s it to you!” Lin Mengjie felt even more aggrieved inside and turned her head away, refusing to acknowledge Ye Qing.

Ye Qing, not understanding what was going through Lin Mengjie’s mind, could only squat down and gently took hold of Lin Mengjie’s foot. Her crystalline, jade-like toes were now marred by a red bruise, seemingly injured from the impact.

”It’s just blood stagnation, it’s not serious,” Ye Qing said as he removed her high heel and began to hold her tender toes.

Feeling her sensitive area being grasped by Ye Qing, Lin Mengjie suddenly exclaimed, ”Hey, what are you doing?”

”The bruising has just begun; massaging it a bit will help to dissipate it. Don’t move around,” Ye Qing said as he firmly held Lin Mengjie’s foot, his hands gently pressing on the bruised area.

Lin Mengjie felt her entire body go weak, her heart thumping like a little deer, she could not even think about struggling. She simply let Ye Qing hold her foot, her eyes fixed on him, and she stood there dumbfounded.

Ye Qing, unaware of what the girl might be feeling inside, applied the Acupoint Seeking Technique to slowly disperse the clotting. After nearly half an hour, Ye Qing finally released her foot and said, ”There, you can stand up now, try walking and see if it still hurts?”

After Ye Qing finished speaking, he received no response and, turning his head to look, he saw Lin Mengjie gazing intently at him, completely spellbound.

”What’s wrong with you?” Ye Qing asked curiously, as Lin Mengjie looked as if she were possessed, what on earth was going on?

”Ah… no… no-no-nothing…” Lin Mengjie finally snapped out of it, her face flushing red as she hastily turned away, avoiding Ye Qing’s gaze, forgetting completely about the pain in her foot.

”You’re okay?” Ye Qing wondered, ”Blood can’t be dispersed completely at once; only a part of it can be cleared away, the rest will take time to heal, it shouldn’t have eased so quickly, should it? There should still be some pain, right?”

Only then did Lin Mengjie remember the injury on her foot; indeed, she felt a twinge as she walked, but it was much less painful than before.

”It’s better, not as painful!” Lin Mengjie straightened up, glanced at Ye Qing, and said softly, ”Ye, thank you!”

”No need to be polite with me!” Ye Qing waved his hand and said, ”By the way, let’s go out together.”

”Oh?” Lin Mengjie felt a secret thrill. Could it be that Ye Qing had finally come around and was going to take her out alone for a tour?
