The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Ma Lu looked at everything in front of him in astonishment and spoke incredulously, ”Guard Cheng Wu, what does this mean?”

Cheng Wu ignored Ma Lu and looked at Meng Yunzheng and Shu Yu, ”I advise you to surrender peacefully; don’t make any unnecessary moves. Otherwise, you’ll have to taste the sensation of being pierced by a thousand arrows.”

His gaze skipped past Xia Yan, who had drawn his sword, and Ying Xi, who held a whip, his lips curled in a smile, and his tone was threatening.

Shu Yu and his group were not surprised by this. Compared to Ma Lu’s shock, their expressions were momentarily startled, but quickly resumed calmness.

Cheng Wu raised an eyebrow, not surprised these two, who had heavily damaged the black market, were so composed.

Meng Yunzheng glanced around the vast courtyard and chuckled, ”Isn’t it overkill for so many people to deal with just a few of us?”

Cheng Wu said, ”Young Master Meng, you’re too self-effacing; your skills are not something we dare to underestimate.”

”This move by Guard Cheng Wu, is it under Lord Cheng’s orders? Striking at us suddenly like this, it seems Lord Cheng has sided with the black market?”

Cheng Wu smiled without speaking, and the next moment he waved his hand, and immediately a few people came forward with ropes.

”Young Master Meng, County Lord Lu, put down your weapons.”

”Don’t even think about it.” Ma Lu’s face turned deathly pale. Although he still didn’t fully understand what was happening, he was sure he stood with Shu Yu.

However, just as he raised his knife, two arrows shot from a distance.

Meng Yunzheng grabbed Ma Lu by the arm and pulled him back two steps, narrowly dodging the two arrow tips.

Ma Lu was startled and looked up at the rooftops.

Cheng Wu laughed, ”I told you, don’t act rashly, or these arrows won’t see reason.”

Ma Lu looked at the two arrows embedded in the ground. If Meng Yunzheng hadn’t pulled him back just now, these two arrows would have gone straight through his throat—Cheng Wu truly intended to take his life.

Meng Yunzheng whispered, ”Don’t be impulsive.”

Ma Lu gritted his teeth, his eyes reddening, ”I’m sorry, I got you into this.” He had personally invited them over, thinking they were just guests at the Cheng Mansion, but unexpectedly invited disaster upon them.

Shu Yu said, ”It has nothing to do with you. Even if you hadn’t come, someone else would have invited us.”

To be honest, they were the ones who dragged Ma Lu into this.

With those two arrows, Meng Yunzheng was the first to pull out the Soft Sword at his waist and throw it to the ground.

Cheng Wu smiled with satisfaction and looked at the others, who had no choice but to lay down their weapons.

Soon, several men and women came over, searched them, took apart the sleeve arrows from Shu Yu’s wrist, and removed several bottles of medicine from Zhao Xi’s body.

After confirming they were indeed weaponless, they tied their hands with ropes.

Shu Yu shifted uncomfortably at the wrist. When the other person used force, she kicked them away, ”Too tight, are you trying to strangle me?”

”You...” That person got up and raised a hand to hit her.

Cheng Wu frowned, ”Stop.”

He gave a look to the woman, who pursed her lips and reluctantly lowered her hand, and when she tied Shu Yu’s hands again, she was much gentler.

Very well, Shu Yu and the others understood that Cheng Wu temporarily did not want to make enemies with them. It seemed their guess was correct—these people indeed intended to use them for something.

After Shu Yu and the others were tied up, they were escorted to the back courtyard, except... Meng Yunzheng.
