The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

The boss’s daughter, who was about to push the door open, indeed lowered her hand, ”It’s all because Sister Song Juan was being lazy and didn’t light the Calming Incense for me, making me wake up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep as I tossed and turned. I’m going to settle this with her.”

The boss’s daughter spoke with some discontent, ”I don’t know what she’s doing, but earlier I heard a clatter coming from her room.”

As she spoke, she was about to push the door again, but halfway through, she was blocked by the young master, ”If you can’t sleep, just as well. Come on, brother has something good to show you.”

The boss’s daughter indeed got distracted and followed the young master away, ”Brother, why are you here in the middle of the night?” After asking this, she hesitated, ”Why are you near Sister Song Juan’s room? You wouldn’t have any thoughts about her, would you? Just now there was some noise in her room...”

The voices grew more distant, and Wei Qin never made a sound. For one, she had been stabbed twice and was in so much pain she couldn’t even cry out. Secondly, the one who attacked her was the young master; everyone living in the backyard of this shop was under him. Though she usually served the boss’s daughter, if something really happened, she would definitely side with the young master.

Wei Qin knew that staying silent might allow her to live, but making a sound to draw someone into the room would only mean certain death.

”So, the young master is afraid the boss’s daughter will find out he tried to kill you?” Shu Yu asked.

Wei Qin agreed with a hum and paused before continuing, ”I wouldn’t say he was afraid. The boss’s daughter is impulsive and somewhat... not very smart. If she found out, it might ruin the young master’s plans. So he keeps a lot of things from her, including his meetings with that killer.”

Actually, Wei Qin’s description was rather polite. To be precise, this lady belonged to the category of ’dumb and mean’ people.

”So after the young master left, you took the opportunity to escape?”

”Yes, I set a fire and escaped.”

Wei Qin knew that although the young master had left, as long as he pacified the lady, he would immediately return to confirm whether she was dead or not.

So despite being in agonizing pain and on the verge of fainting, Wei Qin forced herself to get up, opened the lighter, and directly set the bedding, mattresses, and curtains ablaze.

Then she tossed the lighter out the other window, directly throwing it onto a pile of straw in the adjacent woodshed.

She then frantically climbed out of the window the young master had exited from, which had not been closed yet.

As expected, just as she climbed out of the window, the door on the other side opened, and the young master returned.

However, the room inside was on fire, especially the firewood under the shed next to the woodshed, which blazed fiercely. The flames were so intense that they directly stopped the young master in his tracks.

He wanted to see if there was anyone left in the room, but the servants, who had heard the noise, had already come out. Seeing the burning room, they immediately pulled the young master out.

Wei Qin took advantage of everyone being preoccupied with putting out the fire to sneak out from the backyard.

She often went out to buy groceries and do laundry, so she had a key to the backyard, and she managed to open the door and leave.

But she had been stabbed twice and being able to hold on until she got out was already her limit. Her limbs were weak, her mind was dizzy, and her vision blurry. She feared she might faint before even reaching the alley.

If she were to faint so blatantly in the alley, the young master would find her as soon as he came out, making her escape in vain.
