The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

After settling Wei Qin, Meng Yunzheng thought of the young boy at the door earlier and turned to ask Xu Zhensheng, ”Are you familiar with him?”

Xu Zhensheng chuckled and shook his head, saying, ”Not familiar. His time in Righteous Dao Village has been short, and I didn’t play with him before. But after you came over last time, two days later he found an opportunity to approach me and began subtly probing for information about you.”

Meng Yunzheng and Shu Yu furrowed their brows sharply, ”He approached you?” With Wei Qin here, it might not be very safe.

Seeing their concern, Xu Zhensheng quickly replied, ”Don’t worry. Although he tried to glean information from me, he hasn’t learned anything. Two days ago, he became impatient playing with me, keeps finding excuses, saying he has lots of work at home and wants to keep his distance. I reckon he fears I might probe him for information, judging by his many secrets that seem far more than mine.”

Xu Zhensheng is indeed shrewd; when the other party sought him out for inquiries, he did not shy away at all. He exaggerated his friendship with Shu Yu from a few years back, overblown it was fine, even added more fictional things reflecting his standing in the Righteous Dao Village and before the county magistrate.

The village is not short of elderly folks who knew about Shu Yu’s matters here, and would certainly refute when hearing Xu Zhensheng’s nonsense.

With such ambiguous chatter, that young boy couldn’t discern what’s real from false, and was even more confused.

Thus, after a few days of probing and gathering no information, he decided not to play with him anymore.

But this time Xu Zhensheng wouldn’t agree, instead he clung to the young boy, saying it was rare for someone willing to hear him out, many friends weren’t interested, insisting on holding the young boy to hear his boasting.

Sometimes he’d unexpectedly show up, causing the young boy to lose opportunities to connect and communicate with others.

Now he’s eager to rid himself of Xu Zhensheng’s entanglement, but since Shu Yu and the others have arrived, perhaps the young boy would rekindle his investigative intentions.

Yet clearly, he wasn’t a match for Xu Zhensheng.

Meng Yunzheng appreciated this young lad, ”Pester him for a few more days then stop; find a chance to distance yourself, and don’t associate with him anymore.”

Xu Zhensheng puzzled, ”Why? I can learn about those taking care of him.”

Meng Yunzheng shook his head, ”The young boy you interact with may not be deeply perceptive, but others are experienced and ruthless. Even if you don’t do anything, they might worry you know something, and to guard against potential risks, harming you wouldn’t be difficult.”

Upon hearing this, Ms. Lin immediately tensed, sternly told Xu Zhensheng, ”Listen to Young Master Meng.”

Shu Yu worried that Xu Zhensheng’s youthful passion might get the better of him, added, ”Even if you don’t think for yourself, think of your parents. If they wish to silence someone, they wouldn’t target just you.”

Upon hearing these words, Xu Zhensheng’s face indeed changed, pressing his lips, he solemnly said, ”I understand, I will sever ties with him after a few days.”

”Alright.”

It’s good that he listens, only then did Meng Yunzheng inquire about his recent interactions with the young boy.

However, the other party was evidently cautious, thus there wasn’t much useful information.

After finishing their meal at the Xu Family, Meng Yunzheng’s group returned to the manor. Before leaving, Shu Yu visited Wei Qin, ”Cousin Sister-in-law, we must go now; we’ll depart directly from Righteous Dao Village early tomorrow morning. Take care and heal well, and wait for our return.”
