The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Meng Yunzheng, while walking into the mountains, spoke in a low voice, ”We are coming to Righteous Dao Village this time to deliver someone. This person is my Cousin Sister-in-law, who was seriously injured by some ruffians. You should realize we are being watched now, and cannot keep the person with us, so we would like you and your wife to help take care of her for a while.”

Xu Dali agreed without hesitation, ”No problem.”

”Thank you for your trouble.”

The two didn’t say much more and quickened their pace toward the mountain.

Over there, Ma Lu had already found prey and was aiming an arrow.

Time was running short, Meng Yunzheng didn’t delay any longer and quickly shot several wild chickens and rabbits, but this was not enough.

They went a bit deeper inside and eventually took down a wild boar.

All in all, when adding everything together and carrying the wild boar, all four had their hands full.

Seeing that they had hunted enough, Meng Yunzheng called for everyone to hurry down the mountain, lest dusk falls.

Ma Lu was still a bit disappointed, ”I was thinking that if I saw a tiger, I might have a chance to get a tiger skin.”

Meng Yunzheng twitched his mouth slightly, this mountain’s tiger really has offended you, to keep you thinking about it so much.

The group returned fully loaded, descended the mountain, and returned to the Manor, arousing quite some excitement among the people.

These were the prey caught by Meng Yunzheng, not required to be handed over to the Manor, so Steward Yu naturally let him deal with them as he wished.

Meng Yunzheng immediately arranged, ”I don’t want the wild boar, cut a part for the Xu Family and Fang Family, and the rest will be an additional meal for everyone at the Manor.”

Everyone cheered up and started dividing the meat noisily.

Meng Yunzheng borrowed two large baskets from Steward Yu, one for the Fang Family and one for the Xu Family.

The basket for the Fang Family was filled with a lot of meat, while the one for the Xu Family... contained the petite Wei Qin, with a layer of cloth on top, then several pieces of meat and a wild chicken.

They could only use this method to deliver Wei Qin, as the large chest couldn’t just be carried openly to the Xu Family.

It was a bit dark at this moment, in another 15 minutes, the villagers from work would return, they had to deliver Wei Qin to the Xu Family before everyone came back.

Meng Yunzheng had Xia Yan carry the basket, and the group headed directly to the Xu Family.

Ma Lu simply went back to the Fang Family, ”I’ll carry this basket of prey home and won’t go to your house. It’s rare to be back, I’ll talk with my wife and son.”

Xu Dali invited him over for dinner, but Ma Lu refused.

He felt that gatherings must involve some drinking, but neither Xu Dali nor Meng Yunzheng and Zhao Xi were fond of drinking, and Xu Zhensheng was too young, so he returned home to have a couple of drinks with his father-in-law.

Xu Dali had things to discuss with Meng Yunzheng, so he didn’t insist and the two separated at the fork.

Seeing they were nearing the Xu Family, Xu Dali suddenly stopped, raised his hand, and shouted towards the distance, ”Zhensheng, why are you still playing outside, come home for dinner.”

Xu Zhensheng was talking to a youth, turned hurriedly upon hearing his father’s voice, and ran over excitedly, ”Sister Shuyu, Brother-in-law, you’re here.”

Xu Dali patiently waited for him, while whispering, ”Young Master Meng, the youth talking to Zhensheng is the one receiving care from Shu Feng and the others.”

Meng Yunzheng squinted suddenly, the youth seemed to glance over this way, looked twice, then walked away.

Xu Zhensheng ran over, and the group entered the house.

After Xu Dali and Ms. Lin briefed Xu Zhensheng on the situation, Ms. Lin immediately entered the house, tidied up the bed, and let Shu Yu and Ying Xi help Wei Qin lie on the bed.
