Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 245: Chapter 228: Melodramatic Plot (Part 2)

”This name somehow feels familiar?” Bai Yizhu frowned.

”It actually reminds me of someone,” Luo Qianqian sneered, ”Hopefully it’s not who I think it is.”

Luo Shufan seriously considered, ”Yi Han? Isn’t that the person who transferred to Class 7 this term? The one who is first in our grade now? Interesting.”

”Rich family, good-looking, and performs well academically,” the girl briefly answered.

”Is he a repeater?” Luo Qianqian suddenly turned to a leader present who was trying to be less noticeable.

The leader, looking surprised, nodded. He hadn’t even seen him but knew he was a repeater? If it weren’t for the changed name and the new science building donated to the school, the school probably wouldn’t have agreed to let him return.

”So, his original name, Yi Muhuan?” Luo Shufan realized, his face grim.

The school leader, even more surprised, nodded. Do the Luo family come from a line of fortune-tellers?

”You should transfer or drop out, this matter doesn’t concern you, and hitting a child might still give you a chance to take the test,” Luo Shufan said to the girl in a soft voice.

”Stop, first of all, you need to apologize to my brother in front of the entire school,” Luo Qianqian said calmly, staring at the middle-aged woman’s angry eyes, ”Don’t look at me like that, Auntie. I haven’t even said the rest yet. You’ve damaged my brother’s reputation, and just for that, I can ensure she will never be at ease in any school she transfers to.” Luo Qianqian walked up to the girl, raised her hand, and gave her a slap, then slowly said while observing the girl’s surprised expression, ”I’m not a saint. Considering the child, you don’t need to cover any medical expenses, this slap is for me and my brother to return the favor.” Then, she turned to look at An Zilan, ”Mom, do you think this way of handling it is okay?”

”Ah? Ah... Yes, it’s fine.” An Zilan was completely blindsided by her daughter’s words, responding somewhat dumbfoundedly.

”A complete family really raises such independent children. It’s my fault for not remarrying, fearing it would harm the children, which made her easily deceived,” the middle-aged woman held An Zilan’s hand, ”I really envy you and your husband for raising such good children; the boy is calm and knows how to save face for the girl, and the girl is lively.”

An Zilan shook her head, ”Good upbringing is important, but the right guidance and establishing a sense of right and wrong are equally important.”

”Qianqian, does your hand hurt?” He Wenyu looked at Luo Qianqian’s hand worriedly, turning it over and over.

Luo Shufan speechless, his sister’s slap was obviously not serious, she hadn’t used any of her usual skills that she does when messing around with him.

”I’ve agreed, I will do it,” the girl nodded then hung her head.

”It feels like it’s too easy to settle the small fries,” He Wenyu said softly, ”The big boss seems to be still behind and more troublesome.”

”I feel the same,” Bai Yizhu shook his head, ”Why are they all acquaintances though?”

Luo Shufan felt relieved, thankful that his sister had transferred to First Middle School. Otherwise, being so close to Experimental Middle School and potentially getting ruined by that jerk would’ve left them with no recourse.

”Sir, with no issues left, can we go home and sleep?” Yuan looked at the less noticeable leader with an unwelcoming attitude. It really wasn’t Shufan’s problem, but could it be because he’s excelling that someone wished something went wrong, dragging him down too?

”Err...,” the leader touched his nose, looking towards Zhang Ye.

”You’ve already settled the issue, why still occupy this place?” Zhang Ye was clearly impatient, ”Everyone go home, just sign this and it will be settled.” He handed over the two copies of a civil mediation document recorded by a female officer to both parties.

Luo Shufan signed the agreement as the party involved, and since he was underage, An Zilan also signed. The female student was also a minor, so her parents signed as well.

”I’ll take you guys.” Watching the mother and daughter leave with a certain pretentious leader, Zhang Ye changed his clothes and yawned.

”Mom, Uncle, you guys go back first, Big Brother Zhang Ye will take us.” Luo Qianqian hailed a cab and chuckled to her mother and Lin Xu.

An Zilan was about to say something, but seeing that Zhang Ye and Bai Yizhu were there, she figured there wouldn’t be any issues and nodded, ”Mom will visit another day. Send a message when you get home, sleep early, Xiao Fan, apply some aloe vera gel to your face.” She took out her wallet and handed all the cash to Luo Shufan, similarly, Lin Xu also took out all his money.

”Mom, Uncle, do you want to ride the Overlord car?” Luo Shufan stuffed the money Lin Xu handed him back into their hands, ”We still have money, we’ll let you know if we run out.”

”Exactly, aren’t you afraid the taxi driver might call the police if you take the Overlord car?” Luo Qianqian also laughed, ”Mom, you have to call us when you get home too.”

Watching the taxi drive off, Luo Shufan’s expression darkened, ”This is infuriating, I’m really like a new father.”

”Brother, even though we don’t have elders around, your current face might scare your sister,” Luo Qianqian huffed, turning her head to Zhang Ye, ”Big Brother Zhang Ye, do you have any clues?”

”Sort of,” Zhang Ye nodded, ”The Yi family has run into some trouble.”

”Yeah, didn’t that guy go abroad?” Bai Yizhu seemed to agree.

”He’s back now, it’s quite complicated, I haven’t quite figured it out, but it’s no secret that the Yi family is looking for investors,” Zhang Ye frowned, ”It seems to be somewhat related to you guys.”

”What? We’re just a bunch of students, what does this have to do with us, Big Brother Zhang Ye, don’t talk nonsense,” Luo Qianqian turned her head away in dissatisfaction, though her mind was racing, Could it be the Luo Family?

”Yes, it’s not related to you, come on, let’s go home, I’m starving,” Zhang Ye rubbed his stomach, ”You guys really have a way of getting into situations, Bai Yixian doesn’t keep an eye on you guys.”

”Big Brother Bai has gone into Cultivation, he’s probably going to become immortal...” Luo Qianqian said without hesitation, ”So we common mortals all need to disperse.”

”Sounds like the real deal, Xiao Yu, I heard your culinary skills have improved a lot,” Zhang Ye smiled as he looked toward He Wenyu.

”Don’t know what ingredients we have at home,” He Wenyu nodded, ”but whipping up something simple shouldn’t be a problem.”

”Guests follow the host’s lead.” Zhang Ye chuckled.

Luo Shufan felt his stomach, ”I’m hungry too.”

”It’s your fault for not eating earlier,” Luo Qianqian glared at her brother, but Luo Shufan didn’t even look at her.

”How can I eat with such a vexing issue at hand.” Luo Shufan shook his head and picked up Luo Qianqian, ”I always have to rely on you to step up, am I really that useless, brother?”

Luo Qianqian lay on her brother’s chest, stretching out her hand to touch his slightly prickly head, ”You’re responsible for securing a top spot on the honor roll, and I’ll be the happy little rice bug under your wings. But,” Luo Qianqian lifted her smiling face, ”until the day you achieve that, I’ll help shoulder all obstacles with you. Once Brother spreads his wings and soars, Sister will really do nothing but irritate others.”

”Alright,” Luo Shufan hugged his sister tightly, his eyes brimming with confidence.
