Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 238: Chapter 221: Fish Soup Without Fish

Looking at the band-aid on her neck and the worried face of Luo Shufan in front of her, Luo Qianqian wisely kept her mouth shut and smiled compliantly.

The wound wasn’t serious, only less than two centimeters had been cut open. What had frightened Luo Qianqian to the point of fainting was the nosebleed... Dry weather and careful of nosebleeds?

”Luo Qianqian, who allowed you to go with strangers?” Luo Shufan finally spoke, sitting in the room, his gaze on his sister growing more unpleasant, ”I’ve taught you since you were little not to talk to strangers. Where did you forget that?”

”Well... they weren’t exactly complete strangers...” He Wenyu said fearfully from the side, ”It seems there were students from our school.”

”Not strangers, but Luo Qianqian, you’re really getting bolder, aren’t you?” Bai Yizhu, usually playful in front of the siblings, spoke seriously, ”Throwing your phone, do you think you’re a reincarnated lucky goddess who won’t encounter mishaps?”

Luo Qianqian didn’t speak; this was a misunderstanding. If it hadn’t been for He Wenyu’s sudden appearance, this wouldn’t have happened.

”If it hadn’t been for Zhao Wenxuan being nearby, who knows what would have happened!” He Wenyu also wore a serious expression.

Luo Qianqian and Bai Yizhu both protested internally; wasn’t it your good boyfriend who caused this trouble?

”I was wrong. I won’t talk to strangers or go with them again.” Seeing Luo Shufan’s still worried expression, she continued, ”From now on, I won’t go with anyone except friends whose contact details my family has, not even if they say my grandfather is critically ill, I just won’t go.”

Only then did Luo Shufan’s mood somewhat improve. He stirred the thin porridge in his hand, waited for it to cool down to the right temperature, and then handed it to Luo Qianqian, ”If there’s a next time, you will go to the Boarding School and not come back until the holidays!”

”Yes, sir.” Luo Qianqian repeatedly nodded. She truly hadn’t expected such an incident to happen, and it was indeed fortunate that although the person wielding the knife had used a lot of force, the knife wasn’t sharp, and it had only reddened a large area and scratched a little, without disfiguring her.

”This time I didn’t call the police; I let my brother handle it,” Bai Yizhu pondered for a moment without bringing up Zhao Wenxuan’s involvement. If He Wenyu didn’t believe it and it caused further trouble, what if something happened to Qianqian? Given Luo Shufan’s temperament, wouldn’t he have killed him to vent his anger?

”You handle it, don’t let them off easily,” Luo Shufan nodded his head.

Yet Luo Qianqian wore a bitter smile; this time, the truth that had been hidden for over two years was about to be revealed. How would Zhao Wenxuan dare to bother her anymore? Wasn’t this just an excuse for him and He Wenyu to continue their relationship? Should she tempt him with a handsome guy? But it seemed He Wenyu had met all her friends... and he didn’t seem interested.

On the other side, Zhao Wenxuan, watching his brothers unrecognizable from the beating, was shocked to learn that Luo Qianqian was Lin Jiayou’s sister, feeling a chill in his heart. He had nearly got himself involved; Luo Qianqian was not someone to offend, so it seemed he would have to be more careful with He Wenyu in the future.

Luo Qianqian could never have anticipated that the revelation of her identity would make Zhao Wenxuan so determined to win over He Wenyu.

”Qianqian, put down that chicken wing and just drink your soup!” Luo Shufan knocked the glistening chicken wing off Luo Qianqian’s chopsticks with his own.

Luo Qianqian held her chopsticks sulkily, watching as the chicken wings on the plate were taken away one by one.

”I will make some for you once your wound heals,” He Wenyu couldn’t bear seeing Luo Qianqian eat rice one grain at a time, looking so pitiful, and gently advised her.

”These wounds are no different than what a pencil sharpener does...” Luo Qianqian said, her eyes pleading as she looked at her brother.

Luo Shufan placed the last chicken wing into a bowl with a cold snort, ”Drink the soup.”

It made Luo Shufan angry to think about it; his own sister had had an accident, and yet he was the last one of the four people in the family to find out.

Luo Qianqian held the soup bowl reluctantly, looking disdainfully at the fish soup, ”Xiao Yu, can we have chicken or pork knuckle soup next time? Fish soup always makes me feel like it’s for convalescing mothers.”

”You seem to know a lot?” Luo Shufan took the soup spoon, took his sister’s soup bowl, and added all the avoided fish into her bowl, ”Drink up, no more talking!”

Luo Qianqian had a tearful expression; was this her gentle and lovely brother? How could he be so heartless, treating his cute sister like this?

”Brother...” Luo Qianqian’s voice wavered, and He Wenyu turned his head away; the scene was too heartbreaking to bear, while Bai Yizhu fished out a piece of fish from the soup bowl.

”Actually, it’s pretty tasty; Xiao Yu even removed all the bones.”

”Drink it quickly, or else I’ll drink all the soup,” Luo Shufan said, his head lowered as he ate the meat, imagining the meat in the bowl as the person who had hurt his sister, and he bit down hard.

Luo Qianqian watched her brother’s expression, eyeing the pitiful chicken wings, swallowed saliva, and dutifully sipped her soup. She always felt her brother’s expression while eating chicken wings was too ferocious.

”Xiao Yu,” Luo Shufan put down his chopsticks and looked at He Wenyu calmly.

He Wenyu shuddered, put down his chopsticks, his face still smeared with two grains of rice, ”What?”

”Tomorrow, put less fish in the fish soup...” Luo Shufan finished speaking and turned back to his room.

He Wenyu was utterly baffled, ’What? Put less fish in fish soup? Just boil a pot of water with some spring onions and salt?’

”You could add fish bones...” Bai Yizhu helpfully suggested, as he picked out the fish meat from the soup and placed it in his own bowl, looking at Luo Qianqian, ”Drink up quickly.”

Luo Qianqian, moved, ladled another bowl of soup for herself.

”Why do I feel like this means just boil a pot of water and adjust the taste?” He Wenyu muttered softly.

The next day, Luo Shufan stared at the spring onion soup in front of him speechless, ”Xiao Yu, are we having noodles today? Why isn’t there any noodles?”

”This is fish soup without fish...” He Wenyu opened his mouth, pointing at another dish of sweet and sour fish, ”The fish is there.”

”...” Luo Shufan looked at his sister staring at the greenish soup in front of her dumfounded; his mood slightly improved, ”Yesterday, I meant that you could make some meat soup...”

”Your language expression is really bad.”

”It’s your comprehension that’s poor!!!”

”So should I drink this thing?” Luo Qianqian pointed to the spring onion soup in front of her and swallowed saliva.

”Add some ginger, keep treating it as ginger soup.” Luo Shufan, in a great mood, ate the sweet and sour fish in front of him, ”Let’s continue with fish soup tomorrow.”

Yesterday it was cola chicken wings, today sweet and sour fish, could it be braised pork ribs tomorrow? And could she only have less than or equal to one piece?

”Brother, I’m going to tell Mom you’re mistreating me.” Luo Qianqian bit her chopsticks, looking at the spinach in front of her.

”Oh? Then remember to also mention why, your injury, and the incident when you ran off with a stranger.” Luo Shufan looked at Luo Qianqian coldly.

Luo Qianqian’s face fell, ”I don’t want to drink fish soup, don’t want to eat spinach, don’t want to eat any weird brown sugar pig liver jujube porridge...”

”It’s for blood replenishment.” Luo Shufan spoke tersely, eating the fish in front of him, his face lifting into a smile, ”Why don’t you write a guarantee? Let’s see if it puts me in a good enough mood to have Xiao Yu make you pork ribs and pig’s trotters?”

Luo Qianqian thought to herself, so he really was planning on having ribs, wasn’t he?

”I’ll write, what should I write, you tell me.” Luo Qianqian surrendered under the spell of food.
