Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 216: Chapter 201: This Birthday is Quite Thrilling (First Part)

The next day at noon, An Zilan and Lin Xu saw off the An Family’s visitors, sent the three kids back home, then returned to their new house. A sign announcing a week’s closure was already posted at the storefront.

Lin Jiayou was no longer staying at the old house, which hadn’t been sold. On Luo Qianqian’s suggestion, Lin Jiayou rented it out. Since all the important items were either in Lin Xu’s new house or with the Luo siblings, he wasn’t worried at all. He had settled into Shufan’s room, studying with his newly acquired brother until late every night while Luo Qianqian prepared a late-night snack for them and joined them in their studies until bedtime at ten o’clock.

Tomorrow was Sunday and also Luo Qianqian’s tenth birthday. Shufan pulled Jiayou into his room, whispering and occasionally making a phone call. As for Luo Qianqian? She lay sprawled in her room, forlorn. Her classmates all said they were busy, and her brother wasn’t playing with her either; there was nothing interesting on TV.

After a while, Luo Qianqian got up, asked Luo Yanhai for their address, and also obtained the current address from Luo Yanran, then cheerfully went shopping.

Now, with summer approaching, Luo Qianqian chose sunscreen, shower gel, facial wash, insoles, and a soft-touch towel for Luo Yanhai and Luo Yanhao, also picking up a set for Xu Tianyi. For Luo Yanhao, she decisively chose BYT and smirked mischievously. A little girl, she didn’t blush at all but told the salesperson with a straight face, ”it’s for dad and mom,” and even bought sanitary pads. Luo Yanwu had just returned home, so after some thought, Luo Qianqian decided to buy him a pillow.

After purchasing the items, filling out addresses, paying the postage, and sending everything off, Luo Qianqian felt exceptionally happy. Shopping truly is the best cure.

”Qianqian, where did you go?” Shufan waited at home. Luo Qianqian hadn’t brought her phone, and as soon as she pushed open the door, she saw Shufan blocking the entrance, staring at her.

”You all didn’t want to play with me; I had to entertain myself.” Luo Qianqian spread her hands, an innocent look on her face.

”Is that why you didn’t bring your phone? And making calls to your brothers?” If it weren’t for the fact that he saw addresses from different cities being returned, he would have dashed straight to the airport.

”Snooping through my phones again.” Luo Qianqian pouted in dissatisfaction, ”It’s your fault for ignoring me.”

Shufan chuckled, shaking his head, his face betraying a contemplative expression as he thought about that message from Xu Tianyi.

”Yes, yes, it’s our fault. Come on, taste my cooking.” Jiayou brought out his signature dish—boiled instant noodles.

Luo Qianqian’s mouth twitched as she darted into the room and swung open the cabinet doors, ”Am I not fat? Why are we just having instant noodles? Even if the food these past few days was a bit oily and greasy, shouldn’t we be eating vegetables instead?”

Watching Luo Qianqian’s reaction, Jiayou was at a loss.

Shufan, with one hand on his forehead, pulled his sister out of the room: ”Brother Jiayou is practicing his cooking skills.” But his attempts were disastrous, apart from instant noodles, the ramen turned into a blob, the noodles got burnt, the splash noodles crumbled, and the stir-fried noodles scorched... The longevity noodles... ended up in tatters.

”For your girlfriend, right? Hehe, good job Brother Jiayou. Brother, you better learn from him.” Luo Qianqian teased with a smile.

”How to wreck the kitchen?” Shufan looked towards the kitchen, silently thinking, deciding never to let Jiayou back in the kitchen with his sister; renovations would cost a pretty penny.

After eating the somewhat oddly flavored instant noodles, Shufan took Jiayou back to their room for study time, while Luo Qianqian, having received messages from her friends, went to bed early.

Early in the morning while it was still dark, An Zilan and Lin Xu lined up to register their marriage, and Luo Qianqian was soon awakened by a phone call: ”Qianqian, get up quickly, or it’ll be daylight soon.”

Caller: Pei Yuhao. Reason: Watching the sunrise. Companions: Pei Yuhao, Pei Yutian, Li Qi, Shen Yan, Han Lei, Gu Yanzhi, Yang Weizhuang, Chu Ci, Qiao Xiyang. Xia Qi, having classes, couldn’t skip and sadly missed out.

After picking up the phone, Luo Qianqian got out of bed. She had slept early the previous night because Pei Yuhao had messaged her about going out to play today.

After packing up, it was still dim outside, and it was not yet five o’clock when she checked the time.

After leaving a note, Luo Qianqian headed out.

However, even though she took a taxi, the sun still rose while she was on the road, ”It really should have been winter for this; then the sun would have come out later.”

”It’s deadly cold in winter, I wouldn’t step out at all.” After coordinating over the phone, three taxis dashed towards the next destination: the amusement park.

After buying all-access passes, the ten people split into two groups. Chu Ci, Li Qi, Shen Yan, Han Lei, and Yang Weizhuang formed one group. Luo Qianqian nearly cried, feeling exiled by the girls’ group. She was the only one left out, but this was a conspiracy. Pei Yuhao, Pei Yutian, Gu Yanzhi, Qiao Xiyang, and she formed the other group.

Luo Qianqian looked at those five people cheerfully heading towards the merry-go-round and muttered under her breath, ”For the sake of your good looks, I’ll let it slide, bros.”

”Where are we going?” Pei Yuhao asked.

”Let’s go with the majority rule. Everyone makes a suggestion, and we go wherever most people agree,” Pei Yutian added.

”Merry-go-round.” Luo Qianqian wanted to join the girls, but... only she agreed.

”Roller coaster,” Pei Yuhao declared. Luo Qianqian put her hands in her pockets, determined not to raise her hand. Only Pei Yuhao and Pei Yutian agreed.

”Pirate ship,” Pei Yutian suggested. Luo Qianqian still pursed her lips and hid her hands. Again, only the Pei brothers agreed.

”The little girl is scared, and you guys want thrills. How about the haunted house? This amusement park has three themed haunted houses,” Qiao Xiyang pushed up his glasses and said, a flicker of shrewdness in his eyes that Luo Qianqian missed. At this moment, she saw four people in the group raise their hands.

”You guys planned this.” Luo Qianqian turned her head away, reluctantly following the group, ”I want to switch with Han Lei.”

Gu Yanzhi chuckled lightly, ”We have so many people, what’s there to fear? You just follow behind me.” He said, handing half of the string from his hoodie to Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian took the hoodie string with a grin. In her previous life, she loved watching horror movies but was also scared, often avoiding the bathroom and sleeping alone after watching, but she knew it was all fake. Was she being treated like a child now?

”Bro’s got your back,” Pei Yuhao patted Luo Qianqian’s shoulder and then his chest, confidently saying.

Luo Qianqian’s face showed utter disdain, ”It’s because of you that I’m scared. Don’t you know humans are the scariest?”

Pei Yuhao, who had arranged the visit to the haunted house, looked embarrassed.

”They’re giving out fluorescent bracelets today at the haunted house, let’s go get them,” Pei Yutian said, pushing Luo Qianqian to collect the fluorescent bracelets.

Luo Qianqian got a pink one, Pei Yuhao got a green one, Pei Yutian got a blue one, Gu Yanzhi got a turquoise one, and Qiao Xiyang got a red one.
