The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 439: Chapter 439- Reinhardt Vs Guren (2)

BOOM...

At this instant, two columns of energy arrows were shot. As usual, Reinhardt was about to punch them back.

It was a crude technique, but it worked. Though this time, the arrows suddenly changed properties. They were no longer energy columns, but instead something malleable and sticky, like gum.

When his fist collided with the arrow, instead of rebounding back, his fist sank in, and it stuck to his arm. The same was for the other arrow.

And then, the large column of energy began to glow and exploded.

BOOOM...

The blastwave created a beautiful mushroom cloud that devastated hundreds of meters of land in an instant.

.

”Huff...” Standing on the branch of a tree, Guren inhaled a breath, his stance poised and arrow nocked. Just earlier, he had used multiple skills on those two arrows of his.

The first was [Decoy Arrows]. Using this, he masked the special grade arrows of his into ordinary ones, and the second, [Arrow Polymorph], to change the properties of his arrows. The previous volley was just a distraction; the two were the real attacks.

Guren, with his skill [Hawk Eyes] activated, glanced at the mushroom cloud; his eyes, as if piercing through all the distraction, searched for a figure. He knew that the Divine Paladin wasn’t going to go down with just this.

He had more powerful arrows in his quiver for that job.

And just like he predicted, a large spiral of fire rose to the sky from the area of destruction. The fire, no, the golden column of fire, quickly wheezed out the inferior ones and asserted its dominance.

Inside the column of fire, the Divine Paladin stood there perfectly fine.

PANG...

No delay, no hesitation, Guren shot out multiple more arrows, each a different brand and property. However, when they met the pillar of golden flames, they were all disintegrated after a short few seconds of fight.

ZAP...

The Extreme Knight did not waste a second and quickly teleported, constantly changing his position.

From one tree top to another, he would appear at any place that was already marked with his arrows.

Reinhardt disintegrated all attacks using his skill [Aegis of Eternal Flame], allowing none of them to explode near him.

The reason for that was simple; these arrows, unlike the ones coming before, were different. Not only did each of them pack immense power, but all of them were tricky to defend against.

Just like the malleable arrow from before, some of them changed properties haphazardly. Like the ones right now. One of them started as big as a pillar. However, when it reached him, it compacted in size, becoming as small as a needle. Another turned into a rapidly spinning water jet.

All slammed against his [Aegis of Eternal Flame] before disappearing. Well, even if he cannot punch them back, there is the option of dodging them.

However, doing so would expose the crystal. Given the power packed within each of these arrows, if he ignored them, the radius of their blast would no doubt encompass the crystal behind him.

It need not even be mentioned how easy it was for a knight of Guren’s level to break the crystal. As such, he had no choice but to nullify them all.

Be that as it may... ”This is getting boring.”

Simply taking a hit was not his style. While it was indeed fun to spar with Guren, it would be boring if he just acted as a target practice.

Reinhardt’s eyes, which were tracking the movement of his opponent, shifted toward the large crystal embedded in the ground behind him.

A Crystal Guardian’s role was to defend the crystal. He cannot abandon it, nor can he move too far away from it. Those were the rules.

A grin appeared on Reinhardt’s face.

Far in the distance, Guren poised himself to shoot another volley of arrows.

”That skill is really powerful. To think it can even stop my [Arash’s Line]. I have no choice but to use that...”

Thinking so, he just narrowed his eyes when the next instant he was forced to open them wide.

In the distance, the pillar of fire disappeared, and so did his opponent. Guren did not waste a single fraction of a second thinking and immediately teleported out of the way.

At the very instant he moved, space behind him trembled, and out from it came the Divine Paladin, grinning and swinging his sword in excitement.

”Haha, now this is what I call a battle.”

On his shoulder was the huge crystal that he carried with him seemingly effortlessly.

SLASH... SLASH...

With one hand holding onto the larger than him crystal, his other hand wielded the sword, executing the first three techniques of the [Holy Blade Arts] at a blinding speed.

Immediately, everything around him was cut into pieces. As for Guren, he managed to somehow dodge them all.

Nevertheless, the slashes still managed to cut his cape.

Step... he balanced himself on top of a tree and looked at the ridiculousness of the knight below him. While there was no rule dictating that one cannot move the crystal, fighting while carrying it... what kind of logic was that?

No sane person would come up with it on the spot.

”Hehe, shall we start the fun?”

FLAP... Golden wings radiating pure divine light unfurled behind his back. The next second, they gave a gentle flap, and the man... practically turned into a golden streak.

[Blink Arrows].

Once again, without thinking, Guren acted on instinct and hurriedly moved away.

The golden streak passed by his afterimage. Reinhardt missed; nevertheless, he wasn’t too bothered. By now, he knew every area the knight had marked using his [Blink Arrows].

”Unique Skill [Arsenal of the Gods].”

As if his words were a declaration, the sky above them turned golden. Then, a complex golden formation like the gates of heaven, manifested in the sky.

The moment the visually striking gates of heaven appeared, all the powerful knights in the valley could instinctively feel a kind of terrifying, annihilation-like power charge the air.
