The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 420: Chapter 420- Squad Vs The Demonified Knight (2)

Arriving at that thought process, Rolan stepped forward.

”I’ll take the lead; you two back me up.” He was the only one among the trio who had any chance of stopping the demonified True Knight.

However, just as he stepped forward, a voice sounded out and beat him to the punch.

”No, I’ll take the lead. Seniors, please support me.”

Saying that, she rushed toward the enemy.

”Wait, don’t be impatient. Tch, Miss Delicia, I leave supporting Gwen to you.”

Delicia nodded, and the two immediately followed behind the girl who rushed out like a storm.

Surfing through the water and pushing her movement skills to her limits, she challenged the limits of what was possible with her skills that had evolved not too long ago.

She was freakishly fast and was able to keep up with the speed of a True Knight who had reached the superhuman level.

Blades clashed, and water formed waves crashing onto the demonified knight in an attempt to crush him. However, a true knight was a true knight, even dead. A single swing and the waves were severed in half.

However, the attack of the girl did not stop there. She rode the wave and came attacking her enemy. Water rotated around the edge of her blade, shimmering with an extremely sharp light.

Not only was she using her skills in a versatile and different way than before, she had even learned to condense it.

A scene from the past flashed in her mind.

Gwen, who was much younger then, lay on the ground, breathing laboriously. Dirt covered her training garb, and her sword was knocked out of her hand.

”Listen well, my stupid disciple. Skills are not sword, a weapon meant for one thing. No, they are clay. You shape it with intent, training, and imagination. The same skill can show different effects depending on how you use it.”

Cadence, who was her master, gently chided her from the side.

The little Gwen at that time blinked her innocent eyes and questioned, ”But master, if skills are not fixed, then how do we know we have mastered them?”

”Silly girl, you’ll find out one day.”

Cadence rustled her hair.

Back in the present, the sword that was thrust at the demonified knight was easily dodged by the latter with a side step.

Then, just as it moved to counter, Gwen changed the flow of the skill. The water that was adhering to the blade of her sword suddenly burst forth in a spiralling fashion.

CLANG... Sparks burst forth; it was at the nick of time, but the demonified knight managed to defend it.

However, it was still pushed back, and a part of its armor was scratched. The damage might not have been much; in fact, it was negligible, but still it was quite an accomplishment. After all, even though dead, the enemy in front of her was a True Knight.

”Skills are just like a mirror; the more you polish yourself, the stronger the skill becomes.”

Though her opponent dodged her attack, she was not done yet. The surging water around her was pulled back towards her sword before adhering to the blade once again.

[Ripple Strike] she muttered inside her heart and swung horizontally.

Given that there was quite some distance between her and her enemy, one would wonder who she was even aiming at. However, the demonified knight used his own technique to counter hers.

Sparks burst forth, and the ground around the demonified knight was instantly severed.

As it turns out, Gwen was not swinging randomly; no, the skill she used earlier manifested forth slicing water blades so thin that it was difficult to see for a normal person.

”Nice job, Gwen.”

Rolan shouted, seeing how she managed to keep the demonified knight in check. He rushed over with his sword glowing with [Holy Light] and [Blessing of the Valor]. T

he enemy responded by using its own skill and technique.

RUMBLE... There was a flash of light caused by two energies of opposite attributes colliding, causing a wave of distortion and crimson lightning to wreck the battlefield.

Rolan was pushed back and only found his bearings after taking a couple of steps back.

Delicia attacked from the side when her opponent’s blade was farthest from her and managed to slightly disbalance the latter.

The three squires hurriedly regrouped and cornered the enemy.

Seeing how much each of them improved, for a moment, Rolan felt like they could do this.

So what if their opponent is a True Knight?

At that very second, he suddenly remembered what Vangeance told him once.

It was a couple of days ago. Having entered the state of [One with the Sword] unintentionally in his fight against the mid ranking demon, Rolan asked for a spar match one night. He wanted to get the feeling down in his body once again and enter the state on his own will.

Vangeance was more than happy to comply.

The result was... Rolan tasting the dirt.

”Dammit, why is it so hard to enter the transcendent state?” The squire punched the ground in annoyance.

”Haha, if it was easy to get it, there would not be so few true knights in this world. You trynna mock us?”

”No, I didn’t mean...”

”Just be patient, you will get it one day. But since I, your senior, am so generous, let me tell you a shortcut...”

Hearing the knight’s words, Rolan couldn’t help but blink his eyes.

This ’shortcut’ Vangeance spoke of sounded more like a shortcut to heaven.

”Haha, that’s how I did it. Anyway, Rolan, let me give you a piece of advice. In your current state, if you are able to enter the state of [One with the Sword], you might be able to fight a True Knight head on, albeit with some assistance from the squad”...

”However, that is only so for true knights with decent talent like me. However, there are cases like Silvia. A bundle of pure talent who are said to be favoured by the gods”...
