School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 369: Chapter 419: Dinner

The dinner was bountiful, and the dishes tasted great.

The family chatted as they ate, creating a warm atmosphere; however, as the conversation went on, the topics multiplied, and eventually, Chen Nan had no choice but to keep pouring drinks for Dongfang Tianming.

Why, you ask?

Because the elders brought up the matter of holding a wedding banquet!

Getting married requires not only a marriage certificate but also a banquet to entertain relatives and friends from all around!

Facing this question, Chen Nan dared not take it lightly. He might have managed to get a fake certificate with Dongfang Yun Fei, but hosting a real wedding banquet was a serious matter.

With no other option, Chen Nan had to keep drinking and making up excuses on the fly.

”Dad, Mom, actually, here’s what I’m thinking,” Chen Nan said, looking earnestly at Dongfang Yun Fei as he started to bluff, ”Yun Fei marrying me is her looking up to me, so I must make her happy and let her be the happiest woman in the world. I’m not some big boss; maybe I can’t give her the most luxurious wedding, but I’m determined to give her the most heartwarming, romantic, and unforgettable wedding. So I hope you can give me some time to prepare.”

”Ah Nan, I can see that you’re a very responsible man. Handing Yun Fei over to you, I’m at ease, old dad!” Dongfang Tianming said, contented. ”But roughly how long will you need to prepare?”

At these words, Chen Nan was instantly troubled.

After all, he couldn’t just say anything; whatever he said, he had to make good on it.

Fortunately, at that moment, Dongfang Yun Fei came to the rescue. She placed some food on her father’s plate, ”Old dad, why the rush? It’s like you’re afraid I won’t get married. Ah Nan already said he wants to prepare well, so just let him prepare.”

Dongfang Tianming laughed, ”I’m just eager to drink the wedding toast and hold a grandchild.”

Dongfang Yun Fei quickly shook her head, ”I don’t want to have children so soon. Let’s have a peaceful time just the two of us for a couple of years, and then we can think about kids.”

No sooner had Dongfang Yun Fei finished speaking than Chen Nan immediately launched into a relentless campaign, raising his glass to Dongfang Tianming, ”Come, come, old dad, let me toast you one more glass, to thank you for marrying such a wonderful daughter to me as my wife.”

Dongfang Tianming was also a drinker.

He was thoroughly enjoying his drink and would not refuse, picking up his glass for a ”clink” with Chen Nan, tilting his head back to drink.

After one glass, Chen Nan took a bite of food and, noticing Dongfang Tianming seemed about to speak again, quickly raised his glass as a precaution, ”Old dad, this aged Wuliangye really is fragrant, come, let me toast you another one.”

Dongfang Tianming rolled his eyes, already a bit tipsy.

”What good capacity for liquor, cheers, old dad is with you, down it goes.”

This father and son were so enthusiastic in their drinking that Wang Yan, who was at their side, became anxious but didn’t know what to say.

As for Dongfang Yun Fei, although she had initially supported Chen Nan in pouring drinks, she quickly noticed that her father was about to get drunk, and she sternly glared at Chen Nan a few times and pinched him on the leg, whispering sharply, ”Stop pouring, if my dad gets drunk, you can forget about getting into bed tonight!”

Chen Nan had only poured half a glass of wine and hurriedly stopped.

Not being allowed into bed was a big deal; after all, Dongfang Yun Fei’s previous promises still needed to be fulfilled in bed!

Moreover, Dongfang Tianming was already somewhat drunk, having cast the idea of the wedding banquet far out of mind, so pouring a few less glasses should be fine.

”Come, old dad, eat more dishes.”

Under the threat posed by Dongfang Yun Fei, Chen Nan served Dongfang Tianming several ribs with a smile.

Chen Nan chewed on a rib that Dongfang Tianming had picked for him, and after a few bites, he looked at Chen Nan with a content expression and said, ”This kid is so filial. Come on, brother, I’ll toast to you,” while lifting his cup.

Yun Fei and Wang Yan both had exasperated expressions on their faces.

At first, he said the kid was filial, but in the next breath, it turned into brother... It seemed he was indeed drunk!

With Yun Fei threatening by the side, Chen Nan naturally dared not to keep pouring drinks for Dongfang Tianming, so he hurriedly picked up a teapot from nearby and poured a cup of tea: ”Dad, too much alcohol can harm the body. Why don’t you eat some dishes and have some tea instead?”

Dongfang Tianming shook his head: ”It’s fine, I’m quite tough. I’m in a good mood today. If we brothers are going to drink, let’s do it properly.”

”Dad, you certainly can hold your liquor well, but I can’t keep up with you. I really can’t drink anymore. How about I keep you company with some tea?”

To be able to go to bed tonight, Chen Nan was very helpless.

”I thought you could drink quite well. How could you be drunk!” Dongfang Tianming glanced at Chen Nan, then said, ”Just this one last cup. After we finish this one, we can continue drinking tomorrow.”

”Alright, since dad said so, I will respectfully comply.”

And so, they clinked glasses again, with Dongfang Tianming exclaiming joyfully at how satisfying it was.

In contrast to Dongfang Tianming’s relaxed attitude, Wang Yan was much more thoughtful. She noticed that this young couple seemingly didn’t want to have children or host a wedding banquet.

Thus, she was already considering ways to get them to hold the banquet and start a family soon.

After dinner.

While cleaning up the table, Wang Yan said, ”Yun Fei, Chen Nan, it seems the old man is a bit drunk. Could you two go to the pharmacy and buy some camphor and kudzu root? I’ll make a sobering soup for him.”

Unaware of her mother’s scheming, Yun Fei quickly nodded, took Chen Nan, and left the house.

As soon as they left, Wang Yan immediately brewed a strong cup of tea for Dongfang Tianming to drink.

”Old man, sober up. I have something to discuss with you.” Wang Yan nudged her husband’s arm, then said, ”Have you noticed? Yun Fei and the young couple seem to not want children.”

Dongfang Tianming’s eyes rolled, ”Really? Seems like it.”

”Why aren’t you the least bit anxious!” Wang Yan said, ”Don’t you want to hold a grandchild soon?”

”Of course I do, but we have to rely on them. If they don’t want to have a child so early, what can I do?”

Wang Yan said, ”I have a way!”

Upon hearing this, Dongfang Tianming immediately sobered up halfway, excitedly asking, ”What way?”

”Have you forgotten? The elder sister downstairs, Wang, had a son and daughter-in-law who just got married, and they said they wanted to enjoy the two-person world. They absolutely did not want children for five years. However, last autumn, her daughter-in-law got pregnant. Do you know why?”

”She got pregnant because she got pregnant. What reason could there be?”

”Of course, there’s a reason!”

Wang Yan glanced towards the door and lowered her voice, ”Actually, Elder Sister Wang bought a kind of mosquito coil. This mosquito coil, once lit, emits a scent with aphrodisiac effects; and I heard, this fragrance can also stimulate the human nerves, secreting that something or other. In short, it increases the chances of conception!”
