School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 366: Chapter 414: The Little Girl’s Sincere Confession of Death

After the incident at noon, Chen Nan’s identity as the child of an official spread like wildfire.

This explosive piece of news, like a raging storm, was posted on the school’s forum and swept across the entire school within minutes, with no one unaware or unmoved by it.

During the fifth period, Su Qingqing, who had originally been stewing in jealousy, pestered Chen Nan with questions nonstop, clearly having heard about the situation.

In response to Su Qingqing’s queries, Chen Nan did not answer truthfully but simply brushed her off with casual remarks, effectively fooling her. After all, the fewer people that knew about mysterious organizations like Sky Team and Dragon Soul, the better.

Of course, it wasn’t that he didn’t trust her, but for a young girl like her to know these things, it would bring no benefits, only harm.

After grilling Chen Nan about his identity, the girl shifted the topic to Han Yuting.

Chen Nan had no choice but to repeat, verbatim, the explanation he had previously given to Huo Xinya to Su Qingqing.

After listening to his explanation, Su Qingqing felt a deep sense of frustration. So she had been needlessly jealous all this time; there was nothing going on between this guy and Han Yuting.

”You stupid fool, why didn’t you say so earlier? You’re driving me mad, hmph!” Su Qingqing pouted, huffily glaring at him.

Chen Nan scratched his head, puzzled, ”If there’s nothing between me and Han Yuting, why are you angry?”

”I...”

Su Qingqing opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say.

Inwardly she muttered to herself: You made me feel jealous for so long, and my heart ached for so long; but in the end, there’s nothing between you and Han Yuting. It was all in my head. Wouldn’t you be angry if you were in my shoes?

It has to be said, women are a curious creature; they’re unhappy if you make them jealous, and they’re unhappy if you don’t.

”You silly girl, stop overthinking things and focus on the class,” Chen Nan said, patting her back with a smile.

Su Qingqing shook her head and said cheerfully, ”It’s okay, I’m so smart that even if I don’t pay attention in class, it doesn’t matter. I understand everything as soon as I read the book.”

Chen Nan responded with some exasperation, ”Would you please consider others? You can understand without listening, but some students can’t understand even if they listen attentively. How do you think that makes them feel?”

Su Qingqing rolled her eyes, ”Is it my fault for being smart?”

Chen Nan shook his head and sighed deeply, ”Ah, truly smart people would never say out loud that they’re smart.”

”You’re calling me a dummy, aren’t you?”

Su Qingqing pouted and glared at him, her fists ready to attack like little lobster claws.

Chen Nan quickly moved to the side to put some distance between them, ”I never called you a dummy. You said it yourself.”

”But that’s what you meant,” Su Qingqing muttered, pretending to be angry, ”Hmph, you’re bullying me, I’m not talking to you anymore.”

Chen Nan didn’t try to comfort her but instead nodded and laid his head on the desk, ”Alright then, I’ll take a nap. Don’t disturb me.”

Su Qingqing sneakily glanced at him and saw that he had indeed fallen asleep, which made her stomp her feet in anger and cruelly pinch the soft flesh around his waist.

”Yeeouch...”

Chen Nan shivered and gasped for air, ”You said you weren’t going to mind me, so why are you pinching me?”

Su Qingqing tilted her head up, ignoring him. Her proud expression seemed to say, since you didn’t comfort me, it serves you right for being pinched.

Chen Nan said with a wry smile, ”Alright, stop it. Let’s listen to the class seriously.”

”That’s more like what a cousin should say.”

Su Qingqing smiled happily, picked up her book, and was just about to listen to the class when she suddenly realized a serious problem. Chen Nan was now so close to Han Yuting, and although they were just friends for now, what if one day sparks flew between them?

Even though his heart was occupied by his junior sister, it wasn’t impossible for him to fall for someone else if Han Yuting made a move!

No, I must act before Han Yuting does, and strike first to gain the upper hand or suffer later!

As Su Qingqing thought this to herself, her eyes fixated on Chen Nan: ”Idiot, I have something important, something I need to tell you very seriously.”

Chen Nan was taken aback: ”What is it?”

”If...” Su Qingqing’s heart beat wildly, feeling the flow of her blood hasten, she bit her lip and mustered the courage to say, ”If there were no junior sister, would you like me?”

”This...”

Chen Nan had never expected this little girl would suddenly ask such a question.

”I guess... perhaps... maybe... I might,” Chen Nan replied with a sentence he himself found absurd.

”What kind of answer is that?” Su Qingqing’s face blushed with a touch of shyness, and she said, frustrated, ”Don’t brush me off. Tell me the truth, would you or wouldn’t you?”

”I don’t know!”

”How can you not know your own feelings?” Su Qingqing was shy inside, but she looked at him unblinkingly: ”I want your answer, even if you say you wouldn’t, it’s better than not knowing.”

Seeing her so earnest, Chen Nan found it harder to evade.

Looking into her unflinching eyes, limpid as clear lake water, Chen Nan nodded: ”I feel, I probably would. But, girl, you need to understand, life doesn’t have ’ifs’, so don’t get too attached.”

Chen Nan was telling the truth.

The little girl was lively and adorable, and although she could be a tad wilful at times, it wasn’t a capricious kind of wilfulness – it was hard not to grow fond of her after spending time together.

Su Qingqing’s eyes twinkled, and she said full of joy: ”So that means, you’re starting to like me now, right?”

Chen Nan remained silent.

This point, he wouldn’t deny in his heart, but he wouldn’t voice it either – after all, his junior sister was still waiting for him in Immortal Spirit Valley!

”Answer me!”

Su Qingqing tugged at his clothes.

After hesitating for a moment, Chen Nan looked at her and shook his head: ”Girl, stop asking, alright? Listen to the class. The teacher has been glaring at us several times already.”

”I won’t, I have to get a clear answer.”

It had taken Su Qingqing all her courage to ask this question, and she wouldn’t give up without a definite answer.

”There are so many boys in school who like you, and plenty are better than me. Why are you so persistent?”

But I just like you!

Su Qingqing wanted to scream it out, but her skin was still too thin, and she said, ”You still haven’t answered my question.”

Chen Nan sighed: ”Let me put it this way to you, you’re a nice girl, and if Yiyi weren’t in the picture, I would certainly have a serious relationship with you. But right now, Yiyi nearly lost her life because of me, and I definitely won’t let her down, do you understand?”

Su Qingqing nodded: ”I understand now, you actually do like me in your heart.”
