Chapter 111: Chapter 106: Made in China Shocks Stan

Five days later, alongside Dalton Highway, near the milestone 115 marker.

Lin Yu’an had been waiting here for three days.

He found a sheltered mountain nook near the designated unloading spot and parked the F-450.

The truck was his temporary abode. Whenever he was hungry or thirsty, he ate some of the food stored in the cabin.

He was like a patient leopard, waiting silently for the prey to approach within his territory.

Finally, at the end of the horizon, a massive red truck cab, akin to a Celestial Pillar, dragging the familiar primary-colored container, struggled through the muddy highway, slowly approaching.

Under Lin Yu’an’s direction, the experienced veteran driver used the truck’s side lift system to stably unload the container onto the designated open ground.

He hardly exchanged any words with Lin Yu’an, and once he received the final payment in his bank account, he promptly turned the truck around and hurried away.

Because during the ”snowmelt season,” lingering even a minute longer on Dalton Highway increased the risk of getting trapped.

Now, in the vast wilderness, only Lin Yu’an, his F-450, and the container filled with supplies remained.

And within the container, the Xu Gong XC760K, was the first beast he was about to awaken.

Lin Yu’an took out the GoPro, fixed it on a nearby tree, angling the lens towards himself and the container, beginning to record this historic moment.

He needed a reliable ally now and picked up the satellite phone, dialing the number he had memorized long ago.

”Stan, it’s me, Lin.”

Stan’s signature concise voice came from the other end: ”Kid, are you still in Fairbanks?”

Lin Yu’an looked at the container in front of him and calmly said, ”No, I’m on Dalton Highway, milestone 115, I need your help.”

On the other end, Stan was silent for a moment, seemingly digesting the information.

”What are you doing in that godforsaken place?”

”I’ve brought all my belongings over. Now, I need help moving them in. I need someone to watch over them, and you’re the only one I could think of.”

Stan paused again before slowly speaking: ”Wait.”

Just two words, then the call disconnected, but Lin Yu’an knew Stan would surely come.

He didn’t idle but prepared to open the container first.

”Alright, my container has arrived! The real challenge begins now!”

Lin Yu’an said to the camera and then got into action.

First, he used a massive hydraulic cutter, breaking the lead seal that was brought from China.

Then, he used a wrench to loosen those arm-thick door lock bolts.

Accompanied by the piercing ”squeak—” of metal friction, the heavy container door was slowly pulled open.

He directly climbed into the container and sat in the driver’s seat of the yellow Xu Gong XC760K.

Checking the fuel system, igniting, accompanied by a deep and powerful engine roar, the domestically made engineering machine was instantly awakened!

He deftly operated the machinery, slowly driving it out of the container.

Several hours later, a weathered, older model Chevrolet pickup truck drove up the southern muddy road and stopped alongside Lin Yu’an’s F-450.

Stan got out of the truck, glanced at Lin Yu’an, then at the massive container, his eyes for the first time showed genuine shock!

”WTF! You... you got a container here?”

Stan’s voice was filled with disbelief, knowing full well that accomplishing such a feat during the ”snowmelt season” demanded significant resources and luck.

However, his gaze quickly became fixed on the yellow skid steer loader parked at the container’s entrance.

His shock turned swiftly into a complex expression of curiosity, scrutiny, and professionalism.

If the initial shock regarding the container was due to logistical challenges, then the amazement towards this machine was purely mechanical enthusiasm.

”This machine... was transported within the container as well?”

Stan strode forward, circled the Xu Gong XC760K.

He didn’t look with casual interest like most people but observed closely with the eyes of a seasoned mechanics expert.

He reached out with a hand protected by deer hide gloves, forcefully tapped the sturdy steel bucket, listened to the dull ”clang clang” sound, and assessed the thickness and quality of the steel.

Then his eyes fell upon the thick hydraulic pipelines connecting the booms, observing the orderly layout and clean fittings, well protected by grease with no signs of oil leak.

He even crouched down, examining the track construction and the drive wheels’ gears, clicking his tongue in appreciation.

”XCMG...”

Stan pronounced the unfamiliar brand logo on the boom.

Then he looked up at Lin Yu’an, eyes full of questions: ”What brand is this? I’ve never seen it in Alaska.”

”Looks sturdy, not like those small toys for family farms, but genuine engineering equipment.”

”Xu Gong, from China. It’s going to be my primary tool of production.” Lin Yu’an calmly replied.

”Chinese made?” At these words, Stan’s eyes sparked with greater interest.

Stan glanced along the rudimentary mud road leading to Block A, where the ground had begun to thaw, and shook his head.

”Lin, I must say you’re quite insane! It’s five kilometers from here to your place. Do you plan to use this loader to transport your goods?”

”Although this machine is track-based, in such mud, once it sinks, it’s even more troublesome than wheeled vehicles.”

”You’d better drive it slowly to your camp when the temperature hits its lowest and the snowfield is somewhat solid, but you still must be cautious! Then, it’s all up to your luck!”

A smile appeared on Lin Yu’an’s face: ”I understand, Stan, thank you for your advice.”

He turned to the container and told Stan: ”But it only handles loading and unloading, transportation is done by my ’warhorse.’”

Lin Yu’an operated the Xu Gong XC760K, with Stan’s help, switching to forklift attachments.

He then carefully operated it to lift the deadweight, a ”Warm Winter S-200” heater packaged in a wooden crate, along with two large cast iron stoves, and placed them precisely to one side.

Then, he walked into the container under Stan’s curious gaze and pushed out the red ”Zongshen Beast.”

What did he see? The front of a motorcycle, followed by a huge pickup truck bed and two wide all-terrain tires!

He had never seen such a motorcycle!

Lin Yu’an carefully inspected the vehicle, added engine oil, filled it with gasoline, and then with one kick started the ignition lever.

”Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud-thud-thud——”

The GB1000 engine in the container roared with a low, heart-shaking rumble, reminiscent of a Harley motorcycle!

Listening to this in the dead silent wilderness, Lin Yu’an felt his heart surge with passion from this only source of life energy around!

This oddly shaped tricycle had already piqued Stan’s curiosity.

When this red monster was started, the deafening roar instantly made the eyes of this American old man contract and display an expression of excitement.

After Lin Yu’an turned off this customized Zongshen Tricycle, Stan immediately walked over.

”This is...” Stan’s voice was somewhat dry.

Lin Yu’an jumped off, patted the sturdy truck bed, and introduced to the already dumbfounded Stan:

”Zongshen, a tricycle from China.”

Lin Yu’an’s tone was calm and confident: ”This vehicle was custom-made by me because its design philosophy is entirely different from a car.”

”The reason four-wheeled cars get stuck is mainly due to ground pressure.”

”For a three-ton F-450, the pressure is distributed across four tires, but in this muck, its pressure might still cause it to sink just as easily.”

”But this vehicle is different! It weighs less than half a ton yet is equipped with three ATV-specific low-pressure tires.”

”It has high and low-speed auxiliary transmissions, a differential lock, and three huge all-terrain tires.”

”It can be considered a more flexible all-terrain vehicle! Yet, with load-bearing capacity that does not lose out to all-terrain vehicles, while being more agile!”

Listening to Lin Yu’an’s explanation, Stan’s gaze gradually shifted from initial shock to technical scrutiny and contemplation.

Lin Yu’an continued: ”It has a 999cc V-twin engine. I had the manufacturer sacrifice all high-speed performance and adjusted its low-speed torque to an insane level—over 70 Nm at 2500 RPM.”

”Engage the low-gear mode, and the torque can multiply several times over, allowing it to move slowly but powerfully like an old ox.”

”Once a single wheel starts slipping, lock the differential, and the two rear wheels will be rigidly connected, forcing power to be distributed to the wheel that still has traction!”

”Ensuring it never completely loses power due to one slipping wheel!”

”So with ultra-low ground pressure, insane low-speed torque, and differential lock, it can climb out even if it’s stuck. It’s born to conquer roads like this!”

”I plan to use it to transport everything in this iron box to the camp bit by bit, using the ’ant moving’ method.”

Looking at Lin Yu’an and then the roaring red beast, Stan’s initial curiosity slowly faded, replaced by a glow of appreciation and fervor.

”Lin, let me take this little chili pepper for a spin!”

For the next ten minutes, Stan enjoyed himself like a child with a new toy.

After looping around one last time and stopping, he grinned, displaying a rare smile: ”Lin! That was amazing! I almost want to buy one myself! How much US Dollar is it?”

”This customized one is about 20,000 US Dollar. They also have a 300cc version, roughly 3,000 US Dollar converted.”

”Three thousand US Dollar?”

This price once again shocked Stan!

In his view, such a high-performance special vehicle should at least sell for over fifteen thousand US Dollar.

This pricing gave him a novel and revolutionary understanding of ”Made in China” from afar.

”Lin, if possible, help me order one from China. Its uses exceed what you can imagine!”

”No problem, Stan. I’ll help you with the purchase after I finish my work.”

Stan gave Lin Yu’an a heavy pat on the shoulder.

”Lin, your products from China might indeed bring some different changes to this land.”

”You take care of your business. These goods and your big Ford, I will watch over them! Not even a bear passing by will touch them!”

With Stan as the most reliable backing, Lin Yu’an had no more concerns.

The ”ant moving” operation, a race against time, officially commenced.

He used the Xu Gong XC760K to move heavy items from the container to open ground, then transferred them in batches with the tricycle.

Lin Yu’an drove the red tricycle, flinging mud in all directions with its huge all-terrain tires, bulldozing through the slippery dirt road towards the camp five kilometers away!

On the first day, before dark, Lin Yu’an lost count of the trips he made, successfully transporting more than half the supplies to the camp.

In reality, he did conserve energy by secretly loading everything into space midway, speeding ahead with an empty vehicle, then unloading at the camp for a staged recording.

Luckily, the wind wasn’t strong today, and he wore his Archaeopteryx jacket with its down coat, insulating him from the cold entirely.

When he drove the tricycle back to the temporary roadside camp, he was still somewhat exhausted.

As night fell, the temperature in the wilderness sharply dropped below zero.

Lin Yu’an and Stan lit a bonfire, the flames dispelling the chill and bringing warmth.

He retrieved two detachable down sleeping bags from his F-450, handing one to Stan.

Stan accepted it and then watched with curiosity as Lin Yu’an pulled out another item.

It was a square box, printed with characters he couldn’t understand and an image that looked like food.
