King of the Wilderness

Chapter 107: Chapter 103: The Ingenious Uses of the Golden Finger!

Lin Yu’an left the teacher’s wife’s house and hurried to the airport.

He was preparing to go to Yangcheng to find Old Mao and head to the small warehouse he had rented for him.

When Lin Yu’an arrived at the warehouse near the express delivery processing center, Old Mao was holding a cigarette in his mouth, commanding a few workers with his hands on his hips.

Seeing Lin Yu’an, he immediately threw away the cigarette butt and ran over with a skip.

”Brother An, you’ve finally returned to the country! Come and look at your treasures!”

Lin Yu’an walked into the warehouse, and even though he was prepared, he was slightly shocked by the scene before him.

The warehouse, spanning dozens of square meters, was piled high with various supplies, from neatly stacked solar panels and batteries.

To the Xugong loader, the red beast Zongshen Tricycle, and all kinds of black engineering plastic boxes, the entire warehouse was dazzling.

”Not bad, Old Mao, you’ve worked hard.” Lin Yu’an patted Old Mao’s shoulder.

Lin Yu’an checked the time: ”I’ve already called some people, they should be here soon to load the vehicle.”

”Load the vehicle? Load it where?” Old Mao was momentarily stunned.

”Send it to the warehouse of the express company for international shipping, they’ll handle the shipping and customs clearance.”

Old Mao immediately understood; because he still had work to do, he took the gift from Lin Yu’an and went back to the company to continue working.

Lin Yu’an initially wanted to give Old Mao money directly, but knowing he wouldn’t accept it, he secretly placed 20,000 yuan in the belt gift box he sent.

At this moment, only Lin Yu’an and those supplies were left in the warehouse.

Lin Yu’an took a deep breath and walked to the center of the warehouse.

He activated his Golden Finger.

As his thoughts surged like a tide, the entire warehouse seemed to have the mute button pressed.

Those materials that were piled up high on the ground began to continuously and inexplicably appear in his space!

It was almost fully packed! Fortunately, except for the Xugong loader, the other large items were packed in wooden crates, which allowed for smaller items to be stacked on top.

Lin Yu’an only placed the tricycle and loader along with parts, as well as some small engineering plastic boxes and some seeds into his space.

Another portion of the seeds, he planned to ship via sea mail, as he wasn’t sure if the space would deactivate plant seeds.

For other non-urgent items, he planned to send them by normal mail to Alaska.

More than an hour later, the express company arrived with a container.

Lin Yu’an instructed them to pack and load some non-urgent small items, nearly filling a container.

He paid the shipping fee and let the truck driver and workers leave first.

As for the items in his space, he had already found a legitimate U.S. customs clearance company on the dark web.

”Dark web,” meaning a platform that operates on the edge of the law, not those completely illegal trading dark webs.

The whole process is online; they don’t care how your goods arrive, as long as you pay a certain commission and supplementary low taxes, they can make your items legally enter the country.

This way, Lin Yu’an wouldn’t have to wait several months or even half a year to legally ship his urgently needed items to Alaska through the Golden Finger.

After handling all this, he checked the time, it was not yet evening.

He took out his phone and dialed a long-unused but very familiar number.

After a few rings, the call was answered, and a slightly lazy voice came through: ”Who is it?”

”Risheng, it’s me, Xiaohan.” Lin Yu’an said with a smile.

The other end of the line fell silent for two seconds before erupting in a burst of excited shouting: ”Damn it! A Zai! You damned fool finally decided to come back? Where are you?”

”Just got back to the country, in the city center.”

”Stay right there....”

Sheng Risheng suddenly remembered that Lin Yu’an’s Cantonese was almost non-existent, so he switched to Mandarin.

”Hurry to the old place! The entrance of Huide Village, A Zhen and Old Heng’s street stall, tonight we won’t stop until we’re drunk!”

The voice on the other end was filled with an unmistakable fervor, Huide Village was the place where they used to do summer work, and it was where Sheng Risheng started his business.

Half an hour later, Lin Yu’an took a taxi to Huide Village.

Now, high-rise buildings were everywhere, luxury cars filled the streets, exuding the bustling ambiance of a modern metropolis.

But in the depths of the village, some old neighborhoods filled with the warmth of human life still remained.

Under the big banyan tree’s street stall, Lin Yu’an found a seat. Before he could order, a flashy Maserati SUV parked at an extremely ostentatious angle on the roadside.

The car door opened, and a man wearing a floral shirt, flip-flops, and a thick gold chain around his neck stepped out.

He looked about the same age as Lin Yu’an but had an already plump body and carried an air of relaxation, the result of indulgence and a comfortable life.

He was Sheng Risheng, also known as ”Brother Sheng,” Lin Yu’an’s childhood friend.

”A Zai!”

Sheng Risheng immediately spotted Lin Yu’an, opened his arms wide, and gave Lin Yu’an a solid hug, patting him hard on the back.

”You scoundrel, you disappeared for years without a word. I thought you’d made it big somewhere and forgotten about your friends!”

Lin Yu’an punched him with a laugh, ”I can’t compare to your outfit.”

”Ah, it’s all just for show! It’s all fake!”

Sheng Risheng sat down with a swagger, skillfully rinsing the bowls and chopsticks with hot water, and shouted to the owner.

”A Zhen! Roast goose, white-cut chicken, clams in black bean sauce, salt and pepper shrimp... bring us all your signature dishes! And two dozen Zhuhai Pure!”

The drinks and dishes quickly arrived, and the two clinked glasses, talking about their recent lives over the years.

Sheng Risheng’s life journey could be called an urban legend.

Lin Yu’an and he were elementary school classmates. After graduating from middle school, he didn’t go to high school but went south to work in a factory in Yangcheng, screwing screws.

Later, he discovered he had a knack for video games and started working as a League of Legends booster, earning tens of thousands a month at one point.

With his clever mind and the emotional value he offered, he quickly rose from a booster to a top gaming companion.

Then he grabbed the live streaming opportunity and became a top League of Legends streamer, easily making over a hundred thousand a month!

From there, he went from a bottom-rung screw worker to a League of Legends booster, to a top streamer! Step by step, he successfully attached himself to the number one woman on the leaderboard.

A wealthy woman from Huide Village, thirteen years older than him, with over a dozen buildings. He became a live-in son-in-law.

Sheng Risheng took a gulp of beer, letting out a satisfied burp, then jingled the keys in his hand.

”Now, my daily job is to collect rent from my wife’s properties, chat with the tenants, chase up rent, and then maybe go for a massage or sing karaoke.”

”I used to be obsessed with fishing, bought a bunch of gear, but all I did was feed the fish!”

”Now I’m so frustrated I switched to ornamental fish, raising platinum arowanas. Life, huh, no more pursuits!”

As he talked about having no ambitions, his face was full of pride and contentment.

”And you, A Zai?” Sheng Risheng asked curiously.

Lin Yu’an smiled, briefly describing his current situation.

Sheng Risheng listened with wide eyes and snatched Lin Yu’an’s phone, looking through pictures of Aliya, the babies, and some landscape photos taken at Montana Farm.

”Wow! Blond bombshell! With twin boy and girl! A Zai, you’ve really made it big this time!”

For the first time, true admiration appeared in Sheng Risheng’s eyes, the kind that had nothing to do with money or material things.

Looking at the photo of Lin Yu’an standing with a gun in the snow, he touched his slightly protruding belly and let out a long sigh.

”A Zai, to be honest, I’m really envious of you.”

Sheng Risheng’s voice deepened, ”Every day I deal with concrete and steel, and argue with tenants over trifles. It’s beyond tiring.”

”Can’t catch any fish, and I can’t keep up in games anymore, and my wife makes black goji chicken soup every day... ah, middle age is full of regrets.”

”You’re different, you’re facing real mountains and seas, hunting bears, catching wolves, fishing for big fish... that’s the kind of life a man should live!”

He slapped the table hard, ”A Zai! Wait for me! Once I convince my wife, I’m definitely coming to the United States to find you! You must let me experience true hunting! Imagining it already feels exciting!”

”We used to chase pheasants and pick mushrooms in the mountains when we were kids; you know how much I love that kind of fun! I’ll bring you a bunch of clients, they’re all landlords, I guarantee you’ll profit!”

Lin Yu’an raised his glass with a smile, clinking it heavily with his, ”Alright, I’ll wait for you to bring me big clients! Then I’ll show you the Northern Lights!”

That night, they drank a lot and talked about many things from the past.

Looking at this childhood friend whose sharp edges had been smoothed by a comfortable life, yet still retained a bit of boyish charm, Lin Yu’an felt deeply moved.

Everyone has their own path to choose, there is no right or wrong, only whether one is content.

He was very fortunate that after his rebirth, he could choose a path of freedom.

After arranging a driver for the drunk Sheng Risheng, Lin Yu’an walked along the bustling yet unfamiliar streets, the city’s neon lights making the night sky so enigmatic.

Lin Yu’an took a deep breath, that cold and pure air from Alaska seemed to fill his lungs once again.

Walking on the bustling streets, all around was lively with the smoky flavor of life and a flourishing age.

Listening to Sheng Risheng’s talk about the comfortable life of a city wealthy man, something he used to yearn for, but after all he’s been through,

At this moment, he understood his true inner thoughts more clearly; he no longer envied the lifestyle he once longed for.

He was grateful again that after his rebirth, he didn’t have to worry about economic pressure, but could live a self-sufficient life of hunting and surviving in a way he liked.

At this moment, his body and soul completely belonged to the freedom of the wilderness! No longer to the concrete jungle of the city!
