King of the Wilderness

Chapter 109: Chapter 104: A Day of Splurging a Million

Lin Yu’an smiled mysteriously and said, ”Almost, a surprise for all of you.”

On the way back to the farm, Aliya asked coquettishly, ”Honey, quickly tell me~, what exactly did you buy~”

Lin Yu’an held her hand and softly said, ”Some Chinese specialties you haven’t seen, and some... things that everyone will like.”

Wyatt watched him through the rearview mirror and laughed heartily, ”Lin, I’m curious about what you brought too! But, bringing so many things through customs, weren’t you checked?”

”I didn’t go through the regular passenger channel.” Lin Yu’an answered lightly.

”These things were shipped through my private freight channels. All import and tax procedures were completed in advance, and they were directly cleared and retrieved at the cargo station of Billings Airport.”

Lin Yu’an answered flawlessly, leaving no one to guess that these items appeared ”out of thin air” within the United States.

At the welcome dinner that evening, the atmosphere was exceptionally lively. When everyone was full and chatting around the fireplace, Lin Yu’an stood up with a smile.

”Alright, everyone, the specialties I brought from China can now be unveiled.”

He went to the porch and, together with big brother Wyatt, carried the two enormous silver suitcases to the carpet in the middle of the living room.

”Oh? An, what did you buy that requires such big suitcases?” Second brother Garrett curiously came over, kicked the suitcase lightly, feeling like kicking a piece of iron.

Under the expectant eyes of the entire family, Lin Yu’an said ”click,” opening the first suitcase’s latch.

What caught the eye was divided into several sections by exquisite black velvet partitions.

On the left were top-grade cigarettes arranged like a parade formation, and on the right were top-grade liquors secured with foam.

The packaging with Oriental elements was full of mysterious exotic allure for the Americans present!

The entire living room was silent for a full three seconds. Immediately, Robert and his brothers’ breathing became excited!

”This... this is...” Robert’s voice was a bit dry, he pointed at the suitcase and looked at Lin Yu’an, ”Is this Chinese tobacco and liquor?”

Lin Yu’an introduced with a smile, ”China’s top-grade tobacco and liquor, a gift for you all.”

This sentence was like igniting a powder keg! Robert almost rushed over, carefully picking up a bottle of Maotai.

When he saw the ”53%” mark on the bottle, he gasped and said solemnly to his sons behind him, ”Oh, God! 53 degrees! Is this for dragons to drink?”

Third brother Bo was quick and agile, grabbed a pack of Nanjing Supreme and marveled at the vividly carved dragon, exclaiming, ”Dad! Look at this! Oriental dragon!”

As Lin Yu’an watched the men fall into frenzy, he smiled and turned to the second suitcase. He unlocked the code lock in the same manner and then slowly opened the lid.

Inside the suitcase were neatly arranged, elegantly packaged black velvet jewelry boxes, along with various toy and electronic product packaging boxes.

There was no showy golden spectacle, but the numerous and differently sized gift boxes were filled with an air of intriguing mystery.

The women and children’s curiosity was instantly piqued to the highest.

Lin Yu’an crouched halfway down, first taking out four square jewelry boxes from the suitcase.

He stood up, walked over to Aliya’s four mothers, and handed the gift boxes to them one by one, his voice sincere and full of respect.

”Mothers, these are gifts from me, thank you for taking such good care of Aliya, and thank you for everything you’ve done for Ethan and Olivia.”

The four mothers took the gift boxes, and Susan opened hers first. When she saw the gold bracelet engraved with vintage rose patterns inside the box, she couldn’t help but be stunned.

Under the warm light of the living room, the pure and unblemished golden color radiated a warm and heavy glow.

”Oh, Herman... is this... gold?” Susan’s voice was filled with genuine emotion.

The other three mothers also opened their gift boxes in succession, seeing equally exquisite gold bracelets. They exchanged glances and saw the same shock and be touched in each other’s eyes.

Second mom Martha walked over, giving Lin Yu’an a warm hug. ”Herman, your and Aliya’s happy life is the best gift for us! But... we really love this, thank you for joining our big family.”

The other mothers also expressed their gratitude and liking for the gift one by one.

After distributing the mothers’ gifts, Lin Yu’an took another eight differently sized jewelry boxes from the suitcase and handed them to Aliya’s sisters-in-law.

”These are for you, thank you for your enthusiasm and help all along.”

The sisters-in-law joyfully opened the gift boxes, inside were golden necklaces, jade pendants, and golden earrings of different designs, all meticulously crafted and shining brilliantly.

They immediately excitedly tried them on their necks and asked their husbands for help in putting them on, their faces brimming with happy and satisfying smiles, expressing their gratitude to Lin Yu’an in succession.

Without exaggerated clamor, Lin Yu’an’s way of presenting the gifts with such ceremony made every woman who received a gift feel respected and cherished.

Next, Lin Yu’an distributed the remaining toys in the suitcase to the impatient children, completely turning the living room into a sea of joy.

The little nephews rolled around excitedly holding Iron Man toys, while the nieces had already started changing clothes for Elsa Princess.

The dinner ended in a happy chaos.

Lin Yu’an and Aliya returned to their room. Aliya was still immersed in the joy of the family receiving gifts, ”Darling, you are amazing, everyone loves you to death!”

Lin Yu’an smiled, seeing her excitement, and then took out a long wooden box from his backpack.

”Those are for ’family.’ And this, is only for you.”

Aliya took a deep breath, calming her excited mood, then carefully opened the box emitting a faint aroma of wood.

On the velvet lining of the box, a Nephrite Jade Hairpin, warm-looking and as smooth as congealed fat, lay quietly.

The hairpin head was carved into a budding magnolia flower, with flowing lines, plump petals, filled with classical Oriental charm.

”Oh, darling, it’s so beautiful! It has such a Chinese vibe!”

Lin Yu’an smiled, taking the hairpin from her hand, then gently flipped it over and brought the hairpin body closer to her eyes.

”Look carefully here.”

Aliya leaned in curiously, only to see, under the magnolia flower on the hairpin body, in a very concealed spot, finely crafted English letters.

She softly read out each letter:

”To my beloved wife, Aaliyah.” (To my beloved wife, Aliya.)

As the last letter left her lips, Aliya hugged him excitedly.

Even if gold is more precious, it’s a sign of respect given to family.

No matter how rare tobacco and liquor are, they’re a gesture of brotherly affection.

But only this jade hairpin, and this inscription, belong entirely to her alone, a unique love.

”Aliya, thank you.”

”Thank you for giving me two little angels, for supporting everything I want to do, thank you for being willing to accompany me to Alaska...”

He understood her, knowing she might not understand those profound Chinese characters, so he used the way she is most familiar with to engrave this love into this most Oriental token.

Aliya hugged Lin Yu’an tightly, using all her strength, burying her face deeply into his chest, with no words, only a tight embrace.

After a long time, she raised her slightly flushed, beautiful light green eyes, looked at him and said.

”Home is wherever you are, take me anywhere, I am willing.”
