The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 288: Chapter 287: A New Attempt

Thinking about how Feng Yudan was more popular than her, An Xueqing felt a bit gloomy, but her face was full of smiles. She casually glanced at Feng Yudan and asked, ”Yudan, I heard someone invited you to act in a drama recently. What kind of drama is it?”

Hearing this, Feng Yudan didn’t hide anything and directly said, ”It’s a historical drama, where I play a maid for a noble lady. Although it’s a maid role, there are quite some scenes for it, so I thought about it and accepted. By the way, Xueqing, do you have any plans for this semester?”

”I don’t have any plans really, I intend to focus on studying well first, as I fell behind quite a lot last semester.”

Feng Yudan couldn’t help but sigh at these words, and said, ”Hearing you say that, I’m starting to worry about my studies too. Maybe I should turn down that maid role. Otherwise, if I fail my finals, I suppose my parents will give me a good scolding. This winter break, I was already lectured by my dad for not focusing on school and going off to act. Fortunately, my mom still supports me.”

An Xueqing laughed and said, ”My parents are quite supportive, but they still hope I prioritize my studies. They said it’s still okay to act after graduation. I thought about it and found it quite reasonable, so I plan to really catch up on the coursework I missed this semester.”

Hearing An Xueqing’s words, Tao Cuizhu quickly chimed in, ”Xueqing, your parents are right. Even if you want to act, it’s still fine to do so after graduation. There’s no need to act during school. I see that the teachers are quite peeved with you two. If you keep asking for leave, they might just fail you.”

She’s always wanted to see her roommates study well, so when she heard An Xueqing say that, she naturally fully supported it.

And on the side, Feng Yudan was a bit moved by what was being said.

It seems this is indeed the case. Acting can wait until after graduation. In the end, her gaze was full of hesitation.

But Yiyi simply glanced at An Xueqing, without saying much. If these two changed their minds and decided to focus on studying, that would be good too.

After saying a few more words, everyone returned to their books and rested.

The next day, everyone formally started the second half of the freshman year courses.

Yiyi went about her studies methodically, and when school was over on Friday, she went straight to Jing University to meet Fei Erya and go back together.

Fei Erya happened to be packing up and coming out. Seeing Yiyi, she quickly waved at her and said, ”Yiyi, let’s hurry back.”

Ding Yuejun, seeing her daughter and Fei Erya return, quickly greeted them to come inside, urging them to sit and eat. During the meal, she also showed some concern for Fei Erya.

She still didn’t know the details of Fei Erya’s family situation, so she questioned her closely. When she heard that Fei Erya would be living alone with her father from now on, she quickly said, ”Erya, we will also be going back during the holidays. If you feel bored, come and play with Yiyi more.”

”Okay, Aunt Ding.”

Fei Erya nodded with a smile.

After the meal, Ding Yuejun took an opportunity to talk to her daughter.

”Yiyi, Qin Aimin came to me again today, asking if I could continue making the costumes for another drama. But it’s for a historical drama, and I’m unsure if I can manage it, so I’m hesitating.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi was more concerned about her mother’s health.

”Mom, the clothing store has been so busy lately, and you’ve been designing day and night. If you take on this task, won’t it wear you out?”

Ding Yuejun waved her hand and said, ”Yiyi, I’m actually very satisfied with my current life. It’s so fulfilling and rewarding—it’s the life of my dreams.”

Seeing her mother truly enjoys it, Yiyi didn’t say much more but expressed some concern, ”How many costumes will you have to make? If it’s a lot, we shouldn’t take it on. What’s more, historical costumes would require fresh research from scratch.”

”That’s not much of an issue. Previously, your grand-uncle gave me a lot of embroidery materials, and I’ve developed some understanding of historical costumes, though I’ve yet to practice making one. It’s just that I’m feeling uncertain about it. In my heart, I’d still like to take on this job. I want to further enrich myself.”

Seeing the sparkle in her mother’s eyes, Yiyi ended up shaking her head with a smile, ”Mom, if that’s the case, you should go for it. Doing something you want can make you happier.”

With her daughter’s encouragement, Ding Yuejun felt reassured.

”Alright then, I’ll reply to Qin Aimin tomorrow.”

After talking with her mother, Yiyi went next door to find Guo Ming.

During the New Year, she hadn’t been able to properly visit the Yin sect to pay her respects to her master, so, now that she was back, she wanted to have a good chat with her master.

Guo Ming was delighted to see his little apprentice.

”Yiyi, you’re finally back.”

”Master...”

Yiyi was also very happy to see Guo Ming, and then she immediately made a move.

Seeing his apprentice’s stance, Guo Ming burst into hearty laughter, and then started sparring with Yiyi.

After having an exhilarating match, Guo Ming couldn’t help but nod and say, ”Not bad, not bad. It seems you haven’t slacked off during the break. Your palm technique is getting more and more proficient.”

Yiyi was very happy to be praised by her master.

”It’s all thanks to your guidance, Master.”

”Alright, stop buttering me up. By the way, what have you been busy with during the winter break? You promised to visit the Yin sect for the New Year, but I didn’t see you at all.”

Talking about this, Yiyi felt a bit guilty.

”Sorry, Master. I was kept in my hometown for a while because my sister had a baby, so my mom and I were taking care of my little nephew. By the time I came back, the school was about to start. But, see, as soon as school was over, I came straight here to see you.”

”Your sister has had a baby already.”

Guo Ming did have some impression of Mo Xiaohong and couldn’t help but be a bit emotional. Then he glanced at his little apprentice and said, ”That’s quite important. The Master won’t scold you then, but remember to visit the Yin sect more often.”

The next day, Ding Yuejun got up early, prepared breakfast, and then set out for the clothing store.

”Boss Ding, you’re finally here.”

Hearing the voice, Ding Yuejun looked up to find it was Qin Aimin.

”Mr. Qin, why are you here so early?”

Hearing this, Qin Aimin quickly laughed and said, ”I’m just anxious to know if Boss Ding is willing to take on our crew’s costumes, as we will start shooting our drama soon.”

After discussing with her daughter, Ding Yuejun had long made up her mind, so she nodded and said, ”Alright, I’ll take on this task, but whether these costumes are satisfactory will still need the director’s approval, right?”

”We definitely trust Boss Ding’s skills.”

The last time when Ding Yuejun provided a set of Republican-era costumes for the crew, it added a lot of color to their drama. Many people highly praised their costumes, which is why Qin Aimin came to find Ding Yuejun again this time.
