The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 277: Chapter 276: Visiting

Nowadays, with convenient transportation, Ding Yuejun brought Yiyi and Fei Erya to Houshan Town by the next day.

”Aunt Ding, Yiyi, I’ll head home first then.”

After getting off the car, Fei Erya bid farewell to Ding Yuejun and Yiyi. Even if her mother and sister at home weren’t fond of her, her father was still there. She felt slightly homesick after all.

Hearing this, Ding Yuejun quickly smiled and said, ”Alright, go home quickly then. It’s almost New Year, and your parents must be missing you too.”

After saying goodbye to Fei Erya, Yiyi and her mother went home together.

”It’s been a long time since I came back, it always feels a bit surreal.”

Hearing this, Yiyi couldn’t help but laugh, ”Mom, we should clean up quickly, otherwise we won’t be able to stay here tonight.”

Ding Yuejun also laughed upon hearing this, and then began the major cleanup with her daughter.

After six months without anyone living there, a lot of dust had accumulated. Yiyi and her mother spent three hours cleaning before it was somewhat tidy.

”Alright Yiyi, let’s leave it for now, I’ll clean more tomorrow. For now, I’ll go out to buy some groceries, and the two of us can eat something simple and rest.”

”Okay.”

Yiyi naturally nodded, but while her mother went out to buy groceries, she cleaned another room by herself, and then waited for her mother to return.

Ding Yuejun was quick; she bought some noodles and meat and returned, ”We’ll cook noodles tonight.”

The mother and daughter were already a bit tired after taking the long train ride and cleaning all afternoon, so after dinner, they each went to their rooms to rest.

On the next day, Ding Yuejun sent Yiyi to the street to buy some New Year goods while she continued cleaning.

”Mom, let me help you, we’ll get done faster.”

Ding Yuejun waved her hand and said, ”No need, no need, I’ll be done by the time you get back.”

Hearing this, Yiyi didn’t insist and went out to buy New Year goods.

The street was bustling with the atmosphere of the Spring Festival. After making a round, Yiyi bought quite a lot of New Year goods and returned home.

”Yiyi, you’re back.”

Seeing her daughter return, Ding Yuejun quickly smiled and said, ”Let me wash my hands, change clothes, and then we can go visit your sister and Shanshan at the Zeng’s.”

After Ding Yuejun got ready, she and her daughter headed to the Zeng family home.

”Grandma, Auntie.”

As soon as Shanshan saw the two arrive, she ran up with a smile, her eyes filled with joy.

Mo Xiaohong also came out slowly, looking pleasantly surprised, ”Mom, Yiyi, you’ve just come back, haven’t you? Come in and sit down.”

Seeing Mo Xiaohong with a big belly, Ding Yuejun quickly said, ”Xiaohong, don’t trouble yourself with us, sit down, you look like you’re about to give birth.”

”Yes, it is quite soon.”

Yiyi was also very happy to see Mo Xiaohong and her mother and asked them how they’ve been recently.

”Yiyi, Shanshan and I are doing great, and Jiahe is really attentive to me. My parents-in-law don’t let me do any work. I’m basically just eating and sleeping, life is quite dull.”

Seeing the happiness in Mo Xiaohong’s eyes, Yiyi knew she was truly doing well, so she quickly laughed and said, ”Sister, isn’t it better to take it easy? Besides, you need to take good care of yourself now. When the baby is born, you’ll be busy.”

”Yes, but even then, Jiahe will help take care of things. Whenever he has time, he’s planning how to take care of the baby.” At the end, Mo Xiaohong thought of her husband Zeng Jiahe’s eagerness to learn about taking care of a child, and she couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh.

Seeing Mo Xiaohong like this, Ding Yuejun felt completely at ease.

Little Shanshan on the side then said, ”When the little sister or brother is born, I’ll help take care of them too. I’m an elder sister now, I’m a big kid.”

Seeing the little one’s determined look, Yiyi and Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but laugh.

”Alright, alright, you can help take care of them in the future.”

Ding Yuejun gently touched Shanshan’s head, her face full of warmth, and then she looked around and asked, ”Where’s Jiahe? Are your parents-in-law not home either?”

”They went to the village to buy pork for the New Year; they should be back soon.”

As expected, in no time Father Zeng, Mrs. Zeng, and Zeng Jiahe returned. The three, upon seeing Yiyi and her mother, quickly greeted them with smiles.

Mrs. Zeng was especially eager, inviting them for a meal, ”In-laws, stay for lunch before heading back. When we went to the village to buy New Year pork, we also bought a lot of mountain goods. I’ll go cook now.” With that, she headed straight to the kitchen.

Zeng Jiahe also warmly invited, ”Yes, Mom, you and Yiyi should stay for a meal before going back.”

Given the Zeng family’s warm hospitality, Ding Yuejun and Yiyi stayed for a meal.

During the meal, Mrs. Zeng looked at Ding Yuejun and Yiyi sitting before her and couldn’t help feeling a bit sentimental.

Back then, she hadn’t thought much of Mo Xiaohong, who had been divorced, nor did she think much of Ding Yuejun, a middle-aged woman divorced with a daughter. But looking at them now, Ding Yuejun’s life has improved greatly. She even bought property in Shangjing and opened a clothing store. Seeing her beautiful face now and her fashionable dress, no one would believe she’s a woman in her forties.

Truly, with money, women change and live more vibrantly.

Thankfully, after Ding Yuejun’s life improved, she hadn’t forgotten about Mo Xiaohong and frequently helped their family. Mo Yiyi had also been admitted to the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and would be a doctor upon graduation. Therefore, now when she looked at her daughter-in-law’s family, her attitude had entirely changed.

After Yiyi and Ding Yuejun finished their meal, they returned home.

”Seeing Xiaohong doing well now, I can rest easy.”

At home, Ding Yuejun chatted with her daughter about the family.

Yiyi nodded and said, ”Yes, seeing sister and Shanshan happy makes me glad too.”

The mother and daughter talked a bit about Mo Xiaohong, and then Ding Yuejun asked about Gu Tingyu.

”When will Tingyu be coming over, can he make it before New Year’s Eve?”

Yiyi nodded and said, ”He should be able to.”

”That would be best. At that time, your uncles will also come over, and we will celebrate New Year’s Eve together.”

When the 28th of the lunar month came, Gu Tingyu arrived. Yiyi was very happy to see him, ”Gu Tingyu, you’ve finally come.”

Seeing the young girl’s sparkling eyes, Gu Tingyu’s face lit up with a smile, ”Yes, I’m here to spend the New Year with you.”

Ding Yuejun was also very happy to see Gu Tingyu here. Thinking that it had been a long time since the two had met, she promptly stood up and said, ”You two have a good chat. I’ll go out to buy groceries.”

As for the Chu brothers, they also arrived on New Year’s Eve, and everyone gathered in the courtyard, joyfully celebrating New Year’s Eve.

”Brother, second brother, you should stay here tonight, I’ve prepared the rooms. Tomorrow morning, we’ll set off for the village.”

Chu Gangyi nodded upon hearing this and said, ”Alright, we won’t be too polite then.”
