The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 282: Chapter 281: Childbirth

After Yiyi and Gu Tingyu finished lunch, they went straight back to where they were staying.

This place only had a plum forest to see, so the two packed up and returned to Houshan Town in the afternoon.

When Ding Yuejun saw her daughter and Gu Tingyu return, her face was full of smiles.

”Yiyi, Tingyu, you’re back. Was Meiling fun?”

Hearing her mother’s words, Yiyi smiled and said, ”It was really nice there. The scenery is truly beautiful. Next time, when there’s a chance, we can all go together.”

Seeing her daughter having fun, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but smile as well, ”Great.”

”Aunt Ding, it was really nice there, worth seeing.”

Hearing Gu Tingyu say this, Ding Yuejun became curious about Meiling, ”It seems I really must find an opportunity to go and have a look next time.”

But in the end, she hurriedly called Yiyi and Gu Tingyu for dinner, ”Alright, come in quickly for dinner, it’s already so late. You must be hungry.”

Yiyi was indeed hungry, so she sat down and started eating, only putting down her chopsticks after two bowls of rice.

Seeing her daughter’s appreciation, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but laugh, ”It seems nothing beats home. I’ll make some good food for you in the next few days.”

”Thank you, Mom.”

Yiyi said with a smile.

Gu Tingyu was also very appreciative, eating three bowls of rice and finishing off the rest of the dishes.

Ding Yuejun was very happy to see this, ”It’s so nice having you back, no leftovers, freshly made meals every time, it’s the best.”

However, the next day, Gu Tingyu received news that he had to return to his team.

”Yiyi, we’ll probably meet next time in Shangjing. I’ll come find you when I’m off.”

”Mm...”

Yiyi nodded, her eyes filled with reluctance. After this short trip, she realized she seemed to like Gu Tingyu even more. Their feelings deepened, making the farewell even harder.

Seeing the expression in Yiyi’s eyes, Gu Tingyu felt his heart flutter. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, he quickly pecked Yiyi.

Yiyi gave him a playful glance, but took the opportunity to kiss him back when he wasn’t paying attention, then quickly waved her hand, ”Alright, hurry and catch your ride, or you’ll be late.”

Gu Tingyu knew he had to go, so he waved goodbye to Yiyi.

After watching Gu Tingyu walk into the distance, Yiyi went back inside.

Seeing her daughter come in, Ding Yuejun quickly said, ”Tingyu left?”

Yiyi nodded and said, ”Yes, he has tasks to do, so he had to go back now. Ah, he can’t even have a few days off for the New Year.”

Ding Yuejun also couldn’t help but shake her head, ”Yes, Tingyu is really busy. Everything else is great, just not much time to spend with you.”

Yiyi was already prepared for this, so she quickly laughed and said, ”Mom, we have you here for the New Year, don’t we? Besides, in a few days, when my sister gives birth, we need to go visit her properly.”

”You’re right, we do have things to be busy with during this time.”

Just as they finished speaking, there was a knock at the door.

Yiyi was startled, then quickly ran to open the door, seeing a person standing outside. She asked with some confusion, ”Who are you looking for?”

”Hello, are you a family member of Sister Xiaohong? I’m the Zeng Family’s neighbor. Just now, Sister Xiaohong has gone into labor, and Brother Jiahe hurriedly asked me to deliver the message.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi’s face was full of tension.

”What... my sister is about to give birth? Isn’t there more than a week until the due date?”

”I’m not sure about that. Anyway, the Zeng Family member has already headed to the hospital, you should go quickly too.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi quickly said, ”Thank you so much. My mom and I will head over now.”

”Alright then, I’ll head back.” The young fellow, having delivered the message, didn’t linger and immediately left.

Yiyi hurried back to notify her mother.

Hearing about it, Ding Yuejun was also full of surprise and quickly stood up to tell her daughter, ”Yiyi, let’s head to the hospital now.”

After the mother and daughter hurriedly reached the hospital, they saw Zeng Jiahe, Shanshan, Father Zeng, and Mrs. Zeng standing outside the delivery room.

”Mother-in-law, you’re here! Xiaohong just went in for delivery, please have a seat.” Mrs. Zeng warmly greeted Ding Yuejun and her daughter.

But Ding Yuejun didn’t feel like sitting down; she quickly asked, ”Mother-in-law, what’s going on? Isn’t it more than a week until the due date? How come she’s giving birth already? If we had known earlier, we could’ve come sooner to help.”

Mrs. Zeng hurriedly explained.

”This morning, Xiaohong felt unwell when she woke up. We were really worried and quickly prepared to take her to the hospital, but before we got there, her water broke. It seems she’s delivering early, but we hurriedly asked the doctor, and the doctor said giving birth more than a week early isn’t considered premature, so there’s no need to worry; it’s a normal delivery.”

Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun finally felt relieved and subsequently looked at Zeng Jiahe, who was pacing around, ”Jiahe, sit and rest a bit.”

Jiahe only noticed Ding Yuejun and Yiyi then, quickly saying, ”Mom, you’re here too, please sit.”

Hearing this, Ding Yuejun felt a mix of emotions.

He only just saw them, but she felt quite gratified, knowing Jiahe was really concerned about Xiaohong; otherwise, he wouldn’t be so distracted.

Mrs. Zeng quickly pulled Ding Yuejun to sit down, ”Don’t mind him, this guy has been like this since morning. Even when we told him, he wouldn’t listen. But women really do suffer when giving birth, so it’s understandable he’s worried.”

Seeing Mrs. Zeng like this, Ding Yuejun nodded to herself again in her heart, knowing that Xiaohong wouldn’t have to worry about the future.

Yiyi was also a little worried, but not as much as Zeng Jiahe.

Her sister had been taking the medicine pills she made, so her health was definitely not a concern. She believed the delivery would go smoothly.

Sure enough, it didn’t take long before the delivery room door opened, and a nurse came out asking, ”Who are Mo Xiaohong’s family members?”

Zeng Jiahe quickly stepped forward, ”I’m Mo Xiaohong’s husband.”

Hearing this, the nurse handed over the baby she was holding, ”Congratulations, it’s a chubby boy.”

At this moment, Mrs. Zeng quickly stepped forward, looking at the baby in the nurse’s arms, her face full of joy, ”Oh my, it really is a chubby boy. Now I’ll become a grandmother.”

But Zeng Jiahe’s face was filled with tension as he looked at the nurse and asked, ”Nurse, what about my wife?”

”Mo Xiaohong has just given birth and needs to stay in the delivery room for a while for observation. Please take the baby to the ward first.”

”Can I go in and see her?”

The nurse quickly stopped him, ”No, you cannot go in. Please take the baby back to the ward for now. Later, someone will bring Mo Xiaohong back, don’t worry, your wife’s delivery went smoothly, everything is fine.”
