The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 267: Chapter 266: Ring

Seeing his eldest grandson so eager, Mr. Gu couldn’t help but laugh.

”Alright, we’ll head over in a while, but don’t rush too much. Since we are going to discuss your marriage with Yue Jun, we can’t be too hasty. We need to prepare the proper proposal items.”

Hearing Mr. Gu’s words, Gu Tingyu calmed down a bit. Yes, engagement is a big deal, and there are many things that need to be prepared. He had been reckless in the morning, mentioning the engagement to Yiyi’s mother without any preparation. Grandpa’s thoughtful consideration came in handy.

Old Mrs. Gu nodded in agreement and said, ”I’ll go and prepare the items now.”

”I’ll go with you.”

Mr. Gu also took the marriage of his eldest grandson very seriously. After saying this, he got up and went with Old Mrs. Gu to prepare the items.

Seeing the elders busy, Gu Tingyu said, ”Yiyi, let’s go to the street first.”

Seeing the sparkle in Gu Tingyu’s eyes, Yiyi curiously asked, ”What are we going to do on the street?”

”You’ll know when we get there. Shall we go now?”

Seeing Gu Tingyu’s eager and expectant look, Yiyi couldn’t help but smile and say, ”Sure, let’s go now, but we should tell Grandpa and Grandma first.”

”I’ll go tell them now.”

Gu Tingyu got up and found the two elders of the Gu Family. After saying a word to them, he took Yiyi to the street.

”Yiyi, let’s go in and take a look.”

Looking up at the Jin building in front of her, Yiyi had a guess in her heart, and she followed Gu Tingyu inside with a smile.

”Yiyi, what do you think of this pair of rings?”

Seeing the simple yet elegant pair of gold rings in front of her, Yiyi smiled and said, ”They’re beautiful.”

It’s a pair of couple’s rings; the male version is simply a band, while the female version is slightly more delicate, with a string of tiny hearts on it. Yiyi liked it at first sight.

Seeing Yiyi’s expression, Gu Tingyu quickly asked the salesperson to bring out the rings for them to try.

”You have a good eye. This pair of rings was just made by our master craftsman and was displayed not long before you arrived. You should try them on to see if they fit. If the size isn’t right, we can adjust it for you.”

Gu Tingyu took the rings and said, ”Alright, let’s try them on first.” As he spoke, he put the female ring on Yiyi’s ring finger. ”Perfect fit.” Then he put his on and found it also fit perfectly.

The salesperson saw this and was all smiles.

”It seems this pair of rings suits you very well, even the size is perfect, just like they were custom-made for you.”

Gu Tingyu was very satisfied and paid for the rings on the spot, then held Yiyi’s hand and left the Jin building.

After putting the ring on, Gu Tingyu felt even closer to Yiyi, and he couldn’t stop smiling.

Seeing Gu Tingyu radiating happiness, Yiyi couldn’t help but smile and said, ”You seem very happy. Are you that pleased?”

”Yes.”

Gu Tingyu nodded heavily, then looked at Yiyi and asked, ”Aren’t you happy?”

”I am very happy too.”

Yiyi was, of course, happy, but she didn’t show it as obviously as Gu Tingyu.

Seeing the young girl with a smile, Gu Tingyu knew she felt the same way but was less expressive. Realizing they were soon to be engaged, he squeezed Yiyi’s soft hand and led her into the mall. ”Let’s each buy a few outfits for the engagement banquet.”

”Sure.”

Yiyi hadn’t thought of this before, but upon hearing Gu Tingyu mention it, she became interested in buying clothes. Since they would be wearing them at the engagement, they chose a few festive colors and ended with a couple of classic black cashmere coats.

”Okay, Gu Tingyu, let’s stop buying. We’ve bought enough clothes.”

Gu Tingyu stopped after hearing this.

As Yiyi and Gu Tingyu were about to leave, someone suddenly called Yiyi’s name.

”Yiyi, is that really you? I thought I was mistaken.”

Hearing someone calling her, Yiyi turned around to see Wei Zhirong. ”Zhirong, what are you doing here?”

”I came to get some things and didn’t expect to run into you.”

Wei Zhirong said happily, then looked at Gu Tingyu with some surprise. ”Brother Tingyu, why are you here too?”

Then she looked at Gu Tingyu and Yiyi, suddenly froze, and finally pointed at them. ”What... what’s going on here?”

”This is my partner.”

Yiyi introduced herself gracefully, then curiously asked, ”Do you know Gu Tingyu?”

Hearing this, Gu Tingyu smiled and said, ”Yiyi, she’s Zixiao’s sister, so we’ve known each other for a long time. But I didn’t expect you two to know each other too.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi remembered Wei Zixiao.

”Wei Zixiao, Wei Zhirong, your sibling’s names do sound similar. I hadn’t noticed before.”

Wei Zhirong suddenly realized, ”So you’re the partner Brother Zixiao mentioned last time! I didn’t expect it to be you. We really are fated to meet.” Then she raised her eyebrows and looked at Yiyi and Gu Tingyu, waving her hand, ”Are you two on a date? I won’t disturb you.”

But before Wei Zhirong could leave, she returned.

Seeing this, Yiyi looked at her curiously and asked, ”What’s wrong, Zhirong? Do you want to shop with us? Let’s go over there together.”

Wei Zhirong quickly waved her hand, ”I don’t want to be a third wheel shopping with you.”

Though she said that, Wei Zhirong didn’t move an inch, staying close to Yiyi.

Seeing this, Yiyi couldn’t help but laugh. But soon, she noticed Wei Zhirong staring in one direction, and when she looked, she saw Xie Yuanzhou walking over charmingly, attracting the attention of most women around.

”Yiyi, I didn’t expect to see you here.”

Xie Yuanzhou greeted Yiyi directly when he saw her.

Gu Tingyu, hearing Xie Yuanzhou’s address to Yiyi, couldn’t help but frown slightly. But recalling how the Xie brothers’ help with Ding Yuejun’s matter was invaluable, he stayed silent.

Wei Zhirong, who had been hanging her head, couldn’t help but glance at Yiyi and ask, ”Yiyi, do you know him? How do you two know each other?”

”We met on the way.”

Xie Yuanzhou nodded, remembering how he first met Yiyi, finding it amusing, but seeing Yiyi and Gu Tingyu’s closeness, he, like Wei Zhirong, was ready to leave. ”Let’s go together.” He said, glancing at Wei Zhirong.

”I... okay, let’s go together.”
