The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 265: Chapter 264: The Engagement Decision

”Gu Tingyu...”

As soon as Yiyi saw Gu Tingyu, she ran excitedly towards him, ”Why are you here, are you finally on a break?”

”Yes, so I came straight here to pick you up from school.”

Gu Tingyu looked at Yiyi with a face full of tenderness, feeling no matter how much he looked, it was never enough. They hadn’t seen each other for a long time, but fortunately, this time he could rest for a while and spend some quality time with Yiyi. ”Let me take you home first.”

”Okay.”

Yiyi nodded with a smile and took the initiative to hold Gu Tingyu’s hand.

Feeling the softness in his palm, Gu Tingyu’s lips curled up, his face full of a faint smile.

But even walking slowly, the two quickly arrived at Shichahai.

”Tingyu, did you just pick Yiyi up? Come inside and have a seat.” Ding Yuejun was very happy to see Gu Tingyu and warmly called him in: ”You haven’t eaten dinner yet, come and have some with us.”

Gu Tingyu nodded with a smile and said, ”Then I’ll trouble you, Aunt Ding.”

”No trouble at all. I’d be happier if you could come by more often.”

Thinking about her daughter and Gu Tingyu’s relationship, always being apart, she also felt anxious for her daughter. So every time she saw Gu Tingyu, she was very happy, hoping they could spend more time together.

Seeing Ding Yuejun’s enthusiasm, Gu Tingyu couldn’t help thinking of his own mother. His mother never had a pleasant face when she saw Yiyi, and this stark contrast caused his brows to furrow slightly. He decided to bring it up with his mother when he went home at night.

However, after dinner, Gu Tingyu noticed Pei Wu and others. He took an opportunity, looking at Yiyi with some confusion, ”Who are these people?”

Yiyi, hearing this, casually said, ”These are Master’s people. He thinks young people should go out and gain experience, so he sent them to help my mother with the shop and other things. They didn’t have a place to stay, so we let them stay here, so they can also help around the house.”

”I remember Master Guo has a courtyard next door. If they need to stay, why didn’t they stay there?”

Yiyi answered without a second thought, ”My mom’s been busy lately, so it’s more convenient for them to stay here.”

Hearing this, Gu Tingyu asked no more questions.

Pei Wu and others curiously gave Gu Tingyu a glance. Knowing he was Yiyi’s partner, they scrutinized him intently. The handsome and upright man before them was actually the Young Master’s partner. They planned to observe him carefully to see what special qualities he had to earn the Young Master’s favor and also the Sect Leader’s approval.

Naturally, Gu Tingyu noticed their gazes, but when he looked over, they all casually looked away, so he decided not to pursue it further.

”Alright, Gu Tingyu, you should head back early.”

Seeing that it was getting late, Gu Tingyu didn’t stay much longer and said, ”I’ll come to see you tomorrow morning. Then we can visit our grandparents together.”

”Sure.”

Sending Gu Tingyu to the door, Yiyi waved her hand, reluctantly saying goodbye.

”You go inside first, I’ll watch you go in.”

Gu Tingyu was also reluctant, feeling sorry for the young girl standing in the cold wind. ”Alright, get inside quickly.”

Seeing Gu Tingyu insisting, Yiyi wrapped her cotton coat tighter around herself, waved once more, and went inside.

Only after seeing this did Gu Tingyu turn and leave. Originally, he wanted to go back to his little place, but thinking of his mother’s and Ding Yuejun’s vastly different attitudes, he decided to go home first. However, before he even entered the house, he heard the voices of his parents from inside.

”Yaohua, Yunfang is so nice. Why do you all prefer that Mo Yiyi? I think Tingyu should be with Yunfang instead.”

Hearing this, Gu Yaohua sternly said, ”Don’t say these things anymore. Have you forgotten what the Shu Family did before? If it weren’t for Yiyi’s Master, our in-law almost got into trouble. It was the Shu Family’s fault. Stay away from the Shu Family and stop visiting them.”

”Yaohua, why are you so stubborn? Shu Qiang did what he did just to stand up for Yunfang. Besides, Ding Yuejun wasn’t harmed. If Tingyu hadn’t insisted on being with Mo Yiyi, the Shu Family wouldn’t have done such things. And have you heard? The Ding Family fully supports the Shu Family now, quelling the rumors about them. Mrs. Ding has even made it clear she hopes Yunfang and our Tingyu get together. Even the Ding Family supports Tingyu and Yunfang. What are you resisting?”

Seeing his wife still being obstinate, Gu Yaohua’s face darkened.

”Qiu Lan, stop talking. Even if the Ding Family supports it, so what? Our Tingyu has chosen Yiyi, and Yiyi will be our future daughter-in-law.”

”But...”

Yu Qiulan remained stubborn. But before she could finish, they heard the sound of the door opening, and when they turned around, they looked surprised, ”Tingyu, why are you here?”

Gu Tingyu gazed deeply at his parents and directly asked, ”What did the Shu Family do?” Hearing her son, Yu Qiulan suppressed her surprise and quickly waved her hand, ”Nothing.”

Images of Pei Wu and the others flashed through Gu Tingyu’s mind. No wonder there were suddenly so many people at Yiyi’s house. Something must have happened, and Master Guo sent people over.

Thinking of this, Gu Tingyu turned his gaze to his father.

”Dad, what exactly happened?” These past days, he had been on a mission and wasn’t in Shangjing. Today was the first day he returned and immediately went to find Yiyi, so he really didn’t know about the recent events in Shangjing.

Gu Yaohua glanced at his son and realized he needed to clarify things today, so he briefly recounted the story of Ding Yuejun’s kidnapping.

”So... the Shu Family kidnapped Aunt Ding just because I didn’t end up with Shu Yunfang?”

Gu Yaohua nodded and said directly to his son, ”The matter is already settled. Don’t overthink it. Thankfully, the Xie Family helped, so Yiyi’s mother is fine. In the end, Master Guo also warned the Shu Family, which served as revenge.”

Gu Tingyu remained silent, but his eyes were full of coldness.

The Shu Family went too far this time. He can’t let anyone bully Yiyi and her mother like this; otherwise, others might think they can do the same in the future.

Where there’s cause, there’s effect. Since the Shu Family did such things, they should be prepared to face the consequences.

With this thought, a sharp glint flickered in Gu Tingyu’s eyes.

But he soon thought of something crucial and looked directly at his father, saying, ”Yiyi and I will get engaged soon, to make sure some people take our relationship seriously.”
