Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2393: Chapter 1795: My Trouble Is Gone (Part 2)

”Or, I could directly contact Mr. Wen Yan and have him take over here,” Bai Xiaosheng suggested another solution.

These two ideas still couldn’t satisfy Bai Xiaosheng.

Next, the three of them fell into a bit of silence.

Even the driver couldn’t help glancing at them curiously through the rearview mirror, puzzled as to what was going on with these three people. They had been excited, surprised, chatting enthusiastically a moment ago, and suddenly fell silent.

But the driver was merely curious; he didn’t understand Huaxia language, and naturally didn’t know what they were discussing. Even the names mentioned in their conversation sounded quite different from proper English under their deliberate pronunciation, leaving the driver clueless about who was who.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions rode in the car before one o’clock, entering Banjiao City. Fortunately, as Dilu City had eaten early, there was no traffic congestion here, and smoothly, they were about to meet with the business group.

This time, Bai Xiaosheng not only invested and cooperated in Nalinta City but also acquired an entire company from Luka, restructuring into a new ”North Africa High-Tech” company. Along the way, he also prompted four companies within the business group to cooperate with Dilu City and persuaded them into his business alliance. It can be said Bai Xiaosheng is the big winner of this business trip.

The next stop, the business group will leave Naliya and head to another country’s city for a friendly visit.

Perhaps, another encounter awaits.

The car arrived outside the hotel where the business group was staying. Before getting off, Bai Xiaosheng thanked the driver who brought them and asked him to pass his thanks to Mr. Samba. The driver, with a smiling face, indicated it was part of his duty and assured to convey Bai Xiaosheng’s regards to Mr. Samba.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions got off the car, watched it leave, and then headed inside, meeting some familiar faces from the business group along the way, exchanging polite greetings.

In the ground floor lobby, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions ran into Hou Yuncheng who was about to leave.

”Sheng, you’re back. I was just about to look for you,” Hou Yuncheng said with a smile as he saw Bai Xiaosheng.

During this visit, everyone else followed the plan, regardless of whether the cooperation succeeded or not, and the gains were either big or small. Only Bai Xiaosheng’s actions stirred the leaders and high-level figures of the business group. Dilu City’s continuous gratitude, Nalinta City’s high praise, made the Naliya high-level very pleased, repeatedly thanking the Huaxia Business Group for its contributions and frequently summoning the group’s leaders.

The achievements of Bai Xiaosheng and his team in promoting economic cooperation and exchanges, enhancing mutual trust and friendship between the sides, coincided with the business group’s initial intention. Naturally, Hou Yuncheng was delighted and praised Bai Xiaosheng greatly, eager to inquire about the details as soon as Bai Xiaosheng returned, and convey the accolades from above, encouraging him to keep up the good work.

Now, upon meeting in the ground floor lobby, Hou Yuncheng naturally wanted to chat with Bai Xiaosheng.

”Director Hou, what a coincidence. I have something to discuss with you too,” Bai Xiaosheng also replied with a smile.

Along the way, Bai Xiaosheng kept pondering over the two plans he thought about in the car and still wasn’t keen on passing the ”Green Sky” issue to Wen Yan’s side for resolution.

It’s not that he didn’t trust Wen Yan, but this was a golden opportunity to fulfill Bai Xiaosheng’s duties within the group and earn points for promotion, so how could he simply let it slip away.

Moreover, pushing problems to others isn’t Bai Xiaosheng’s way of handling things.

Therefore, Bai Xiaosheng intended to ask Hou Yuncheng if he could delay for a couple of days. Once things were arranged here, he would swiftly go to meet with the business group.

Hou Yuncheng, seeing Bai Xiaosheng speak like this, was suddenly curious, then smiled, ”Oh really, you have something to say to me? Let’s chat over there.”

Hou Yuncheng pointed to the resting area in the corner of the lobby, where there were few people, making it convenient for conversation.

Seeing this, Bai Xiaosheng nodded in agreement.

Just then, Bai Xiaosheng’s phone rang. He smiled apologetically at Hou Yuncheng, took out his phone, and glanced at who was calling him.

At a glance, Bai Xiaosheng’s expression turned slightly surprised.

”Director Hou, I’m sorry, please wait a moment while I take this call,” Bai Xiaosheng apologized to Hou Yuncheng.

”No worries, I don’t have anything urgent. I’ll head over there and wait for you, but make sure to keep it short and quick,” Hou Yuncheng smiled and said.

”Certainly.” Bai Xiaosheng promptly nodded, sending Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying to accompany Hou Yuncheng over to the seating area.

After settling everything, Bai Xiaosheng hurriedly took his phone to the corner before answering.

”Hello, Ye Liena?” Bai Xiaosheng chuckled.

It was Ye Liena, previously an executive manager under Caroline, who called Bai Xiaosheng, but she was later acquired by him.

”Mr. Bai, I have something to discuss,” Ye Liena said on the phone.

However, her voice carried a hint of hesitation.

”What’s the matter, Ye Liena? You can speak freely, no need to have reservations with me,” Bai Xiaosheng said with a chuckle.

Bai Xiaosheng was also curious, wondering why someone as straightforward as Ye Liena suddenly sounded hesitant as if she was about to discuss something difficult to articulate.

”Well, it’s like this, Mr. Bai. My friend Melanie, do you remember her...” Ye Liena said timidly over the call.

How could Bai Xiaosheng forget? Melanie was involved in one of Caroline’s plots against him, even deceiving Ye Liena.

”I remember, what happened?” Bai Xiaosheng replied calmly.

”It’s like this, she has always felt guilty towards both me and you,” Ye Liena took a deep breath and said, ”This time, she heard some information by chance from a former colleague and told me right away. I knew the information was related to you and couldn’t help but call. But, I am not sure about the authenticity of the information, nor can I verify if there’s any issue, just wanted to let you know. Also, Melanie never intended to harm you...”

Ye Liena ultimately couldn’t forsake her friend, and spoke on her behalf, fearing that Bai Xiaosheng might be upset or unwilling to listen, hence her hesitation and timidity.

”I’ve long forgotten about the past; it wasn’t any deep grudge. I can forgive her no matter how excessive she was before, especially on your behalf,” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile.

Ye Liena was a rare talent, so to retain her, Bai Xiaosheng was willing to not hold grudges against the minor Melanie.

This reflected Bai Xiaosheng’s appreciation for talent.

However, as a woman hears this, she might overthink it a bit.

”I-Is that so, then, thank you,” Ye Liena stammered.

”What did you want to tell me?” Bai Xiaosheng sensed a misunderstanding and, while unsure how to explain, immediately asked.

Ye Liena steadied her breath and then said, ”It’s like this; Melanie heard from a former colleague that this person has a friend who is close to Caroline—a woman named Jenny—recently went to Africa carrying documents to sign cooperation agreements with several group companies on-site. They also mentioned signs indicating that the Greater China Region, that is, your side, is sending corporate representatives to Africa to discuss cooperation with local group enterprises, and they’re planning to obstruct it. Upon hearing this information, Melanie immediately came to me, asking me to warn you to be very cautious!”

Bai Xiaosheng was stunned upon hearing this.

It’s like being gifted a pillow when you’re about to doze off.

Turns out Jenny is carrying important ”evidence,” making their investigation much more convenient.

”I understand now, thank you, Ye Liena, and also thank your friend,” Bai Xiaosheng said softly over the phone.

After communicating with Ye Liena, Bai Xiaosheng hung up the call, pondered for a moment, and put his phone away, then started walking towards Hou Yuncheng and the others.

At that moment, Hou Yuncheng was chatting with Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, laughing.

Bai Xiaosheng approached and said, ”Director Hou, what were you chatting about? It sounds lively.”

Upon seeing Bai Xiaosheng returning, Hou Yuncheng laughed heartily, ”Talking about your remarkable achievements during this trip.”

Lin Weiwei playfully eyed Bai Xiaosheng, always amplifying his image, which she excelled at.

”Oh, that’s too much praise, don’t listen to her exaggerations,” Bai Xiaosheng said with a grin.

Hou Yuncheng chuckled, ”Why not? As long as it’s based on facts, clarifying glorious deeds is perfectly fine.”

Then Hou Yuncheng asked, ”Have you finished your call?”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded.

”Right, what did you want to tell me? You first, since what I have to say is all praise,” Hou Yuncheng grinned.

”Me?” Bai Xiaosheng laughed, ”I don’t have anything to discuss anymore. Initially, I had a matter to bother the leadership with, but after that call, the issue has been resolved.”
