Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2373: Chapter 1787: The Honored Guest Has Arrived (2)

Seeing that the atmosphere had become somewhat awkward, and given that everyone was at his company, Luka quickly said, ”Why don’t we all go to my office and have some tea while we rest? I have some top-quality black tea here. We can chat while we drink!”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded with a smile.

Filas and Laimu also had no objections.

”Forget it, I won’t have tea. I have a lot to do, so I’ll take my leave first.” Kars rudely declined, turned on his heel and left without waiting for anyone to speak, muttering something in the local dialect, ”A complete waste of time!”

Luka felt a bit awkward and glanced at Bai Xiaosheng.

Although this Huaxia guest might not understand their local language, he could guess some meanings from the tone and expressions.

This was not good; it made the people of Nalinta City appear impolite.

”Mr. Luka, where is your office? I’d like to chat with you a bit more.” Bai Xiaosheng said with a smile, seemingly unaffected.

Luka quickly smiled and made an inviting gesture, ”This way, please!”

Meanwhile, while Bai Xiaosheng was visiting the companies of the four entrepreneurs, Deputy Mayor Tori of Nalinta City was sitting in a car returning to the city government, feeling particularly angry.

Nalinta City also urgently needed foreign investment, and out of the companies they could present, aside from Filas and Kars, the other two were barely adequate.

They did not dare hope for all to succeed in securing cooperation, but if even one or two companies could receive investment support, they would be tremendously satisfied.

However, the Huaxia Business Group that finally arrived was intercepted by Dilu City.

This matter cannot be let go like this!

Currently, Mr. Send, the Mayor of Nalinta City, was in Banjiao City accompanying high-level officials and the leaders of the Huaxia Business Group.

This needs to be reported.

In the car, Deputy Mayor Tori immediately called Mayor Send, and after several attempts, with no answer, he patiently waited.

After a while, Deputy Mayor Tori received a call back from Mr. Send.

Deputy Mayor Tori quickly connected the call.

”Mr. Tori, why did you call me? I’m with some important guests,” Mayor Send’s tone over the phone was slightly displeased.

”It’s like this, Mr. Send, there’s something I must report to you.” Deputy Mayor Tori hurriedly said.

He then detailed the situation to Mayor Send.

”Oh, that matter!”

To Deputy Mayor Tori’s surprise, Mayor Send seemed to know about this matter already!

”Because I was just in a high-level meeting, I couldn’t make time to greet you. In fact, as soon as I’m done here, this is the first matter I was going to discuss with you.”

Instead of being furious over the unexpected decrease in personnel, Mr. Send seemed to be rather pleased.

This left Deputy Mayor Tori quite astonished and a bit baffled.

Could it be that because fewer Huaxia businessmen visited for inspections, there would be some kind of compensation later?

”Regarding the small business group visiting us altering their plans at the last minute, I found out right away. To avoid any misunderstandings on my part, the leader of the Huaxia group even disclosed some information to me!” Mayor Send’s tone was excited over the phone, ”Isn’t the person visiting us a very young Huaxia businessman with a male and female companion?”

”Yes.” Deputy Mayor Tori responded.

”Do you know the name of that young Huaxia businessman?” Mr. Send asked eagerly.

”He said his name was Bai...”

Before Deputy Mayor Tori could finish, Mayor Send interrupted excitedly, ”His full name is Bai Xiaosheng, and he’s the Executive Director of Zhenbei Group’s Greater China Region! Among the Huaxia Business Group, he maintains the closest cooperative and personal relationships with nearly two-thirds of the strong enterprises. I heard he can even invite big companies like Tengyun Group and Jia Group to invest in a location anytime!”

Deputy Mayor Tori was stunned, shocked beyond belief at these words.

Zhenbei Group is a world-class financial conglomerate, he knew that. In recent years, their city had frequently extended an olive branch to Zhenbei Group’s Africa region, hoping they’d invest, but after three inspections, they still hadn’t come.

That young Huaxia man turned out to be the Executive Director of Zhenbei Group’s Greater China Region!

Simply incredible!

And, of course, Tengyun Group and Jia Group, these influential Eastern conglomerates were also well-known to Mr. Tori.

Not only was Bai Xiaosheng a key figure of Zhenbei Group, but he also had close ties with those big enterprises and could easily draw them in to invest?

This was simply unimaginable!

Deputy Mayor Tori’s hand holding the phone involuntarily trembled, overwhelmed with excitement.

”And, Tori, don’t you follow financial news? That Huaxia businessman who shook the North American business community and was known worldwide, do you know who that is?” Mr. Send asked excitedly.

”Is it... Mr. Bai Xiaosheng?” Deputy Mayor Tori exclaimed in surprise.

He recalled that it really was such a name!

Mr. Send, realizing Deputy Mayor Tori understood, excitedly said, ”It’s not the number of visitors that matters, but their quality. Having Mr. Bai Xiaosheng alone is enough! He alone is worth two or even three delegations!”

Deputy Mayor Tori couldn’t help but swallow, nodding in agreement before realizing.

Making a call, nodding, Mr. Send couldn’t see that.

”By the way, did you host that gentleman properly, was the etiquette complete? Although our previous welcome ceremony wasn’t grand, it wasn’t disrespectful either.”
