Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2382: Chapter 1791: Throw Him Out!

The next morning, Bai Xiaosheng and his two companions went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. Jenny, who stayed in the room above them, did not come down and, as usual, ordered room service. Otherwise, they might indeed have run into each other.

The hotel restaurant was elegantly decorated and very quiet. The diners were all people of status who paid great attention to etiquette. Even if they conversed, it was in hushed whispers, so low that even those at the next table couldn’t hear.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions naturally kept their voices down as well.

Several men who were with Jenny were also staying at this hotel. They came down for breakfast shortly before or after Bai Xiaosheng and his companions, and their seats were only separated by a decorative screen.

Yet this screen kept both parties unaware of each other’s presence the whole time.

During breakfast, Bai Xiaosheng instructed Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, ”This morning, we’re going to visit Green Sky Company. Try not to use the group identity. Avoid any related information in speech or actions. Just mention we are from the business delegation.”

Lei Ying nodded while taking large bites of breakfast, indicating he would comply.

”But back when Green Sky didn’t accept Dilu City’s proposal to host our business delegation, if we go there rashly under the business delegation’s identity, won’t we be turned away?” Lin Weiwei said worriedly.

Yesterday, Bai Xiaosheng analyzed the information he gathered from all aspects, concluding that Green Sky Company likely declined the proposal from Dilu City to maintain a low profile, thereby concealing Zhenbei Group’s upcoming moves in Africa from the public media.

However, could missing out on such a business opportunity really be explained solely by ”keeping a low profile”? Or is there something more unusual going on?

This is what particularly intrigued Bai Xiaosheng.

Following that line of thought, it was indeed likely that the other party would decline their visit, making them hit a soft wall, or even get turned away.

Of course, if Bai Xiaosheng insisted on visiting, with his identity as the second-in-command of the group’s headquarters oversight department, the other party wouldn’t be able to refuse, not even the business president of Zhenbei Group’s African region could stop him.

It’s just that things haven’t reached that point, and it isn’t certain that there’s actually any issue on their part.

One of Bai Xiaosheng’s purposes in coming to Africa was to cooperate with others, barging in and causing trouble right away would obviously be inappropriate.

Bai Xiaosheng recalled the African business president, a stern black elder known for not taking sides in the past internal conflicts at headquarters, neither with the ”Western faction” like Vice Chairman Morgan and North America representative Caroline, nor with the ”Eastern faction” like Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan. His stance was neutral and variable.

Frankly, Bai Xiaosheng didn’t want to offend such a figure and might need his support in future group affairs.

Considering all this, they indeed needed a ”knocking brick” to visit the ”Green Sky” company today.

Bai Xiaosheng finished the borscht in front of him, scooping it up with bread, and seeing the two had finished breakfast and were looking at him, he wiped his mouth and smiled, ”Let’s go. It’s not convenient to call Deputy Mayor Samba here.”

Was Bai Xiaosheng planning to utilize his friendship with Deputy Mayor Samba?

Hearing this, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged glances.

After finishing breakfast and returning to their room, Bai Xiaosheng already had the phone number for Deputy Mayor Samba’s office on his phone.

Upon returning, he closed the door and personally made the call.

”Hello, may I speak with Deputy Mayor Samba...”

”I don’t have an appointment. Please tell Mr. Samba that a friend from the Huaxia business delegation would like to speak with him...”

Holding the phone, it didn’t take long for a smile to appear on Bai Xiaosheng’s face as he spoke, ”Is this Mr. Samba? Was yesterday’s cooperation satisfactory?”

...

Bai Xiaosheng chatted with Mr. Samba for about ten minutes before he ended the call himself.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, beside him, could both sense Mr. Samba’s enthusiasm over the phone.

”Soon, Deputy Mayor Samba will send someone to ’Green Sky’ company with us. With the authority of Dilu City’s government, they will mediate on our behalf. ’Green Sky’ will ultimately open a business locally, and while it may be able to ignore the city’s face once, it won’t do so a second time. Businesspeople are the least likely to sever relationships,” Bai Xiaosheng said.

Upon hearing this, Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying both nodded immediately.

The three of them calmly waited in the hotel room.

Half an hour later, a government car pulled up to the hotel entrance, the same type as the ones that had driven Bai Xiaosheng and his party to Nalinta City yesterday.

Today, Deputy Mayor Samba sent this car to pick up Bai Xiaosheng.

In front of this car was a seven-seat business vehicle facing the hotel entrance.

The car door was open, and a woman was getting in, followed by several men.

If Bai Xiaosheng and his companions saw, they would certainly recognize Jenny and her group.

When Jenny and her team had left, the car sent by Deputy Mayor Samba moved forward slightly, and the driver then called Bai Xiaosheng and his companions.

Soon after, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions came downstairs.

The person sent by Deputy Mayor Samba warmly and respectfully greeted Bai Xiaosheng and his companions.

After all, these were the honored guests Deputy Mayor Samba had repeatedly instructed to be cautiously received.

This time, although only one person was sent by Deputy Mayor Samba, the driver was actually his chief secretary, whose status was not the same as those from the previous day.

The reason just one person was sent was not because Deputy Mayor Samba was less enthusiastic about Bai Xiaosheng and his companions today compared to yesterday. It was because Bai Xiaosheng had previously arranged with Deputy Mayor Samba that there was no need for many people, just someone to greet them would suffice.

This was in accordance with Bai Xiaosheng’s wishes, so the deputy mayor’s chief secretary came alone.

After greeting them, the person respectfully invited Bai Xiaosheng and his companions into the car.

Afterward, the car left the hotel and headed directly to the Green Sky Company. They left almost simultaneously with Jenny and her group, without much delay between them.

Bai Xiaosheng had already learned that the hotel is not far from the Green Sky Company, just about a half-hour drive.

On the road, Bai Xiaosheng chatted with the deputy mayor’s secretary about some situations regarding ”Green Sky.”

From the senior secretary, Bai Xiaosheng learned that last time, Deputy Mayor Samba personally went to persuade Green Sky to participate in this inspection sequence, but it coincided with Green Sky saying there was an issue and they needed to carry out some so-called internal rectification, making it inconvenient to open to the public. The person in charge apologized in thousands of ways, politely declining the goodwill of Dilu City’s government.

It sounded very much like an excuse.

The situation was pretty much what Bai Xiaosheng had anticipated before.

It seems that Mr. Samba’s previous visit was not pleasant, and this time ”Green Sky” had to show some courtesy.

”Mr. Bai, when we get there, we’ll make contact and say you’re Mr. Samba’s friend visiting privately, so they won’t have any excuses!” The deputy mayor’s senior secretary said.

Bai Xiaosheng nodded and said, ”Okay.”

Afterward, the two talked about other things.

The conversation made the journey pass quickly.

The car carrying Bai Xiaosheng and his companions drove into the parking lot of a building, and through the glass window, Bai Xiaosheng saw the huge ”Green Sky” English name and logo on the building.

Everyone got out of the car and headed straight for the building’s entrance, entering the building and directly going to the reception desk.

Since entering, Deputy Mayor Samba’s senior secretary separated from Bai Xiaosheng and the others, walked quickly over, and greeted them first.

The secretary of Deputy Mayor Samba is well-known here, having been seen last time, and as soon as they saw her, they immediately put down other tasks to help contact the general manager’s office.

Bai Xiaosheng and his two companions waited patiently at the lobby entrance.

Just then, a group of people came pouring in from outside the lobby.

Leading the group was a man and a woman, surrounded by numerous secretaries and clerks.

The ”Green Sky” employees in the lobby saw the man among the group, instantly standing respectfully, while looking at the woman with curious scrutiny.

The two walked as they talked and laughed.

”Not only did Mr. Zack send a car for me, but there was also a welcoming ceremony in the parking lot; I’m truly flattered,” the woman said with a laugh.

The man named Zack, a middle-aged white man with some elegance, smiled and said, ”Miss Jenny is an important envoy from America, and we should naturally show our hospitality. Unfortunately, Mr. John has urgent matters to attend to and entrusted me as the vice president to welcome you. The welcoming ceremony was somewhat simple, but it represents our company’s sincere welcome to you.”

The woman was none other than Jenny.

At this moment, dressed in professional attire, she exuded competence and the urban white-collar beauty’s infinite charm.

”I’m truly undeserving,” Jenny said with a graceful smile.

While speaking, Jenny sensed someone ahead and instinctively looked up.

Jenny’s smiling face instantly froze.

Coincidentally, Bai Xiaosheng saw her too.

She saw an incredibly familiar, unforgettable face.

”It’s you again!” Jenny couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise, anger, and slight madness in public.

Instantly, the image of the white-collar beauty shattered.

Even Vice President Zack was dumbfounded, looking at Jenny and then at the Huaxia man opposite.

Everyone present was stunned, watching the suddenly crazed big white-collar from America, confused.

”Nice to see you again, Miss Jenny...” In such a setting, what could Bai Xiaosheng do? He could only smile like a gentleman and greet the woman whose name he’d just heard.

”Why are you here, what are you doing here?!” Jenny entirely ignored the many people present, angrily shouting at Bai Xiaosheng.

She utterly detested this Huaxia man, going red at the sight of him.

Vice President Zack looked increasingly curious at Bai Xiaosheng.

Why did Miss Jenny react so strongly upon seeing this man? Could it be that there was something between the two...?

Vice President Zack had no idea that what Miss Jenny had with Bai Xiaosheng was just a ”deep-rooted hate” and ”fear.”

Wherever Bai Xiaosheng went, she was unlucky!

Facing Jenny’s questioning and the attention from the Green Sky Company’s newly met vice president, Bai Xiaosheng calmly stated his purpose, ”I’m here to meet Mr. John.”

To be discreet and conceal his identity, Bai Xiaosheng deliberately used a respectful address.

Vice President Zack was about to speak.

But Miss Jenny exploded first, ”You’re not welcome here! Mr. Zack, please have someone throw him out for me!”
