This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Director Cao’s domineering voice made the Auntie, who was rolling on the floor, pause for a moment.

However, in that brief moment of hesitation, the Auntie surged forward to pounce on Director Cao, but she was blocked by the security guards. At this point, it was evident that Du Heng’s decision to change the security guards this time had been correct.

The Auntie was incredibly agile, and her restless fingers looked as if they had been professionally trained. But no matter how nimble she was, the security guards formed a circle around her, effectively blocking her.

The Auntie was furious. She changed her target to the security guards’ faces, unleashing the claw technique she had honed for at least sixty years. Who were these security guards? They were all able-bodied men in their forties. As middle-aged men, they wouldn’t easily let the Auntie get her way; they dodged her attacks while looking for an opportunity to counter.

Seeing the situation escalating, Director Cao hurriedly yelled, ”Stop!”

This loud shout stopped not only the Auntie but also the security guards who were preparing to counterattack. The security guards looked confused, not knowing what Director Cao had in mind. But the Auntie, who had taken the offensive, had a smile spread across her face; she thought this was Director Cao backing down.

However, Director Cao pointed at one of the security guards and said, ”You just need to stop her. Why resort to force? If she gets hurt, you’ll be responsible. Understand?”

The security guard looked aggrieved and said pitifully, ”Director Cao, she’s scratching my face! Should I just stand there and let her scratch me?”

With an air of righteousness, Director Cao nodded gravely. ”Yes, just let her scratch.”

In an instant, everyone present—whether they were onlookers, the security guards, or the Auntie herself—was dumbfounded. The security guard, in particular, felt incredibly aggrieved, his face instantly turning beet red.

Just as everyone thought this director was a pushover who only bullied his own people, Director Cao continued, ”Let her scratch you. Let’s see how badly she can scratch you.”

While speaking, Director Cao gestured around them. ”Look where we are. This is a Hospital! If she scratches you badly, you can be hospitalized and treated right away. What are you afraid of? Besides, there are cameras all over the corridor, capturing your every move clearly. And you have so many witnesses around you. Are you still afraid you won’t find someone to compensate you?”

Director Cao stood behind the security guard, earnestly instructing these new recruits, ”But if you retaliate, you’ll lose any claim you have, even if you were in the right. Even if she scratches you badly, you won’t be able to claim compensation. Understand now? All you need to do now is surround her, protect the patients from getting injured, and ensure she doesn’t injure herself. She will have to bear all the consequences of her actions. She’s delaying treatment for so many patients and disrupting the normal order of the Hospital. If she does scratch your face, she’ll face additional charges of provoking trouble and intentional assault.”

The security guard’s eyes instantly brightened, and an ’Oh, I see!’ expression dawned on his face. When he looked at the Auntie again, his face was no longer filled with disgust or hostility, but instead wore a very warm smile. He understood Director Cao’s words. Never mind a scratched face; even a small cut or a bruise would be a work-related injury! Lying down on the spot wouldn’t be asking too much, would it? There’s money to be made and paid leave to enjoy. Where else could he find such a good deal?

The once-fierce Auntie was stunned. Her hands, poised to display decades of skill, froze in mid-air. She had never imagined that a hospital director would actually give the security guards such a rotten idea.

But could all this deter the experienced Auntie? Are you kidding me? Her coming to the Hospital today to demand money from him, Director Cao, for counterfeit medicine was a well-thought-out plan; everything happening now was within her expectations.

So, after just a brief moment of hesitation, she unleashed her trump card. She retracted her stiff claw technique and replaced it with the One-finger Death Touch, aiming it at the security guard. Simultaneously, she launched a spray of spittle, a projectile carrying both physical and chemical elements. ”Alright then! I’d like to see if your damn face can take this! I’m a 71-year-old woman! I’m not even afraid of the police, so why would I be scared of you?”

Seeing the Auntie baring her teeth and preparing to advance again, the security guard who had just been enlightened began to lose his nerve. Seventy-one years old! People in this age group really could do whatever they wanted, just as you see in the news. Not too long ago, these ’privileged seniors’ had managed to get an entire village’s name changed. What an astonishing feat! No one supervised them; no one could manage them. Could he still tough it out?

The security guard lost his previous enthusiasm and looked at Director Cao anxiously.

Director Cao merely smiled faintly, not intimidated by the Auntie’s forceful presence. Seeing the Auntie getting ready to make another move, Director Cao spoke righteously to the security guard, ”Just do as I say. Don’t retaliate, and don’t fight back. It doesn’t matter if the police station can’t manage her. The police station can manage her son, her daughter, and her grandchildren.”

Du Heng, who had been standing on the periphery, quietly breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Director Cao’s firm stance and the obedient security guard.

Noticing the security guard still seemed hesitant, Du Heng spoke up again, ”Just do your duty. Whatever happens to you, the Hospital will take full responsibility. If the police can’t deal with her, the Hospital will pay for you to sue her. I’d like to see if she truly dares to scratch up your face. She might act recklessly because of her age, but I doubt her family can afford to be so brazen.”

Du Heng’s assertive words immediately restored the security guards’ courage. The few of them all put on cold, stern expressions and once again surrounded the arrogant Auntie.
