This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Wu Shengnan never imagined that the key to solving the case would lie with the scavenger she saw every day.

But the most critical problem was that the criminal was not this scavenger. The underwear appeared on him simply because he had normal male desires.

However, he had no female companion, no money, and no courage, and his mental state was truly questionable. So, when he saw a woman passed out on the roadside, his first reaction wasn’t to molest her or do anything else, but to steal her underwear.

The pair of underwear was torn because he had tried to forcibly wear it himself, ripping it in the process.

Based on the scavenger’s description, the criminal was not the man they had previously investigated and tailed, but a woman—the same woman who had appeared three times in the surveillance video.

When Wu Shengnan and her team caught this ”woman,” a shocking revelation occurred: this was not a woman, but a man. However, calling him a man wasn’t entirely accurate either.

Wu Shengnan didn’t care whether this person was male or female. She only wanted to know how many crimes ’he’ had committed, why ’he’ did it, and whether ’he’ had any accomplices.

According to the suspect’s confession, ’he’ had no accomplices. The crimes ’he’ committed weren’t limited to those Wu Shengnan and her team knew about; there were also four male victims targeted in the same manner. For some unknown reason, these men had chosen not to report the crimes.

At the same time, ’he’ also confessed the motive behind the crimes, which was both pitiful and hateful.

It turned out that four years ago, ’he’ was an unequivocal boy. However, ’he’ was misled by others and developed gender dysphoria, believing ’he’ should be female. Impulsively, ’he’ began taking estrogen medication, planning to transition into a woman by ’his’ eighteenth birthday.

But after taking estrogen medication for more than half a year, just as ’his’ body was ready for the final step, ’he’ suddenly had regrets. ’He’ felt that ’he’ shouldn’t go against the laws of nature and that being a man was actually quite good.

The problem was that after continuously taking large amounts of estrogen medication for a year, ’his’ body had developed feminized features. Simultaneously, due to the excessive medication, although ’he’ still possessed ’his’ male organ, it was useless for anything other than urination.

After three years of torment and seeking medical help everywhere without seeing any hope, coupled with the unique nature of ’his’ work, ’he’ suddenly developed a desire for revenge.

The targets for this revenge included not only attractive, provocatively dressed women but also men who had made inappropriate advances toward ’him’.

And with ’his’ now completely feminized body, ’he’ had remained outside Wu Shengnan and her team’s scope of suspicion all along.

The case was simple. The culprit was right under their noses, but because of the victims’ identities and their own preconceived notions, they had foolishly been wasting their energy on the wrong path all along.

Thus, a case that had yielded no results for a week was resolved in just three short hours once they found the lead. ’He’ didn’t even resist, and all problems were readily solved.

Looking at the signed statement, Wu Shengnan strangely felt no sense of accomplishment or joy. For a moment, she even felt a bit lost.

However, this feeling was only temporary. After being dazed for a few seconds, she quickly gathered her things and rushed to the Second Affiliated Hospital of JZU, eager to share the good news with Leader Zhang.

But when she arrived at the hospital and saw Leader Zhang, who was slow to react and also unable to hear, Wu Shengnan suddenly felt disheartened.

When Du Heng came home that evening, he saw Wu Shengnan, whom he hadn’t seen in a week. But now, she looked utterly exhausted and was lying listlessly on the sofa.

Seeing Du Heng enter, Wu Shengnan forced a smile. ”You’re back, dear? Have you eaten? I’ll go make you something.”

Seeing Wu Shengnan in such a wretched state, Du Heng felt both heartbroken and angry. He walked over to her, gently pressed her shoulder to keep her from sitting up, then sat down beside her. ”You haven’t been home for a week. Look how exhausted you are; there’s no way you can cook for me.

You just rest and get some sleep. I’ll make dinner. I’ll call you when it’s ready.”

Hearing Du Heng’s comforting words, Wu Shengnan slowly leaned against him and murmured, ”You’re so good to me, dear.”

Du Heng was speechless but amused. ”I just said a few words, and suddenly I’m ’so good’? You’re being too emotional. That’s not like you.

Is it because your case isn’t over yet, and you’re feeling pressured?”

Wu Shengnan leaned her head on Du Heng’s arm and shook her head gently. ”The case was closed today. It was appallingly simple, yet I spent a whole week on it. I don’t think I’m cut out to be a leader.”

”Why do you say that?” Du Heng could see Wu Shengnan was in low spirits and quietly consoled her. ”But you closed the case, didn’t you? That shows your ability isn’t the problem.”

”That’s not it,” Wu Shengnan said, her voice low and somber. ”The case was extremely simple, but I spent a week on futile efforts, making my colleagues suffer so much alongside me.

’An incompetent general exhausts his army.’ I think that describes me perfectly.”
