Emperor’s Domination

Black Witch Monarch took out a strange box. After removing the lid, it had a hole with numerous ants inside.

Strangely enough, they didn’t move despite being stacked in layers.

”What’s this for?” Princess Chen was creeped out by it.

”Break the formation.” The monarch said.

”Using ants?” The group was caught off guard once again by his method.

To break a formation, an expert normally derived relevant mysteries to find gaps and openings. They could also use overwhelming force. In addition, special treasures could evade or disassemble formations.

Using ants was unheard of, especially when they were just ordinary ants that could be found in any nest.

”Never heard of it, right? I came up with this method to break formation, its name is God Shifters.” He said.

”They’re gods too?” Orchidcore stared at the ants.

”They can’t be gods? Broaden your mind since there is more in this world than just cultivation and dao mysteries.” He said.

”True.” Li Qiye nodded approvingly.

”Young Noble, your knowledge is why you are the greatest in history.” He gave Li Qiye a thumbs-up.

”You called yourself the greatest before, how can he be the greatest too?” Princess Chen said.

”What do you know, Child?” He is the true greatest in history, I am just using it as an adjective like how we call emperors invincible and supreme. It’s far from the truth.” He glared at her.

”Uh...” The group couldn’t retort.

”It sounds right.” Mu Hu scratched his head.

”Everyone has a different definition of invincible. For regular people, emperors and desolate gods are indeed invincible because they don’t know about primal ancestors. And then we have supreme overlords and the immortals, they are beyond the reach of normal cultivators.” Orchidcore said.

”Well said, Child.” The monarch patted Orchidcore’s shoulder, appreciating his comment.

”Emperors are invincible in my eyes.” Li Xian admitted.

Although his clan had plenty of emperors and desolate gods in the past, it was a different story now.

”I can’t see how ants will break this formation.” Monk Zhu focused on business. He had used his illusory break earlier to no avail.

”Don’t be down that your Buddhism couldn’t break it. After all, it is versed on mesmerizing innocent people and converting them, unlike my art.” The monarch didn’t waste a single chance.

Monk Zhu was frustrated, thinking that this guy truly hated Buddhism.

”Why do you hate Buddhism?” He had to ask.

”I don’t hate it, I just don’t like how the monks at Lankavatara Temple think they’re superior and transcendent, hmph.” The monarch laughed.

”You should go teach them a lesson.” Princess Chen instigated.

”It’s not a bad idea, maybe I should.” The monarch’s eyes lit up.

”Do you think you can do better than the ten Sacred Buddhas of the temple?” Monk Zhu said.

”Ten Sacred Buddhas? Competing against them makes me a bully, I rather just teach Lankavatara Buddha himself if he is still alive.” The monarch rolled up his sleeves.

”Hmph.” Monk Zhu lost his composure and scowled.

”Lil’ Monk, just watch and see how my witchcraft is better than your cheap Buddhism.” The monarch added.

”You!” Monk Zhu turned red.

”Nothing reigns forever, appreciate and learn other possibilities.” Li Qiye remarked.

”Indeed, Young Noble. I will start now.” The monarch said and took out a bag of flour.

”What’s happening now?” Princess Chen felt lost.

”This is called shifting, watch how the gods will do it.” The monarch said while pouring the flour onto the ground.

”Spirits of the heaven, spirits of the earth, gods, obey my order...” He chanted while swinging his wooden sword.

This time around, the group listened to each word carefully. It sounded funny and ridiculous at the start - like a swindler in the mortal world.

Upon rumination, something was different. The common words combined to form a command capable of trapping powers.

Of course, they only sensed something different, unable to grasp anything tangible in witchcraft.

During the chant, ants started climbing out of the box. Lines formed as they crossed the flour to enter the formation.

Strangely enough, the bewitching formation didn’t affect them. Thus, lines of flour were constantly formed.

Although the young ones failed to grasp the full outline of the formation, they finally saw a corner with the help of the flour markings.
