Emperor’s Domination

”Hahaha!” Black Witch Monarch said: ”Maybe when I have time, I’ll bring a torch there and burn the temple, let’s see if the monks will still think so highly of themselves then.”

”Please stop, no more.” Orchidcore became startled and waved his hands repeatedly.

Lankavatara Temple was a holy ground of Buddism, one of the longest-lasting lineages in Old World. Although far from the strongest, it survived one war after another. Its true foundation must be unfathomable.

Since it remained neutral most of the time, people lacked a good gauge of its might.

Black Witch Monarch laughed and dropped the issue.

”Why don’t you show us your art already?” Li Qiye said.

”My trivial art is not worth mentioning in your presence, Young Noble.” Black Witch Monarch became humble again.

The group finally drew a connection regarding his attitude shift - when he was speaking with them versus Li Qiye.

”We don’t have anything better to do, proceed with the exorcism.” Li Qiye said.

”...” Black Witch Monarch froze for a second before answering: ”I don’t think I can exorcise anything with my shallow enlightenment.”

”You didn’t sing this song earlier.” Monk Zhu didn’t want to let him off easily.

”Lil’ monk,

I

said nothing of that sort.” Black Witch Monarch glared at him, using the imperious

I.

”If you can’t catch a little ghost, how can you defeat Lankavatara Temple?” Monk Zhu said.

”Bah, I can burn the whole place down in one night.” He retorted.

”Watch it, you might bite your tongue spewing all these ignorant lies.” Monk Zhu said.

”Fine, I’ll catch this ghost then.” He was caught by the psychological game and rolled up his sleeves: ”I will show you all my supreme technique.”

”We can’t wait to see a true master daoist at work.” Princess Chen clapped.

”I am not a daoist, I’m a witch monarch, okay?” He angrily said.

”No idea, it sounds bad though.” The innocent Mu Hu shook his head, making the witch monarch livid.

”We eagerly await a lesson from you, Witch Monarch. Please catch the ghosts.” Orchidcore said with a smile.

”Very well, brats, today is when I display my ability.” He appeared confident again.

The one who felt the worst about this development was none other than Li Xian. Any big shot would put an end to his clan.

Alas, this so-called monarch had set up an altar in the courtyard while the four young saints observed with great curiosity.

He placed strange trinkets on the altar - something different from other cultivators. The latter utilized powers and treasures stemming from cultivation.

As for Black Witch Monarch, his items came from the mortal world with no innate power to speak of.

For example, he had a wooden sword with some indecipherable inscriptions. However, the young saints could tell there was nothing special about it.

If they had to pick out something, it was made from the core of a millennium walnut tree. Of course, this age meant nothing to cultivators. Ordinary cultivators could live for several thousand years, let alone the big shots.

”The ghosts here aren’t weak, they require an imperial-level cultivator. I don’t think your ordinary wooden sword will be effective.” Princess Chen didn’t want him to be hurt.

”Child, you don’t know how rare a millennium walnut tree is. This is made from its core, not to mention the engraved witch runes that I came up with myself, they are evil’s nemesis. Killing fiends and protecting its user, both are easy for this sword.” He said.

”That’s not rare, my house alone probably has dozens of 100,000-year walnut trees.” Princess Chen murmured.

He didn’t hear her or pretended not to hear her, busy taking out a bowl of soybeans.

The group tried to spot something unusual about the soybeans but failed to do so. This was the food of mortals.

”What are you doing with them? Stir fry?” Princess Chen couldn’t help but laugh.

”Child, this is my supreme art, one bean represents one heavenly general.” He said proudly.

”Is that so?” Orchidcore didn’t believe him.
