I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2042: 24.303 Sixth Violet Star - Reward

The arrival of the Spirit God Thorn had startled everyone excluding the two adults who seemed to have expected this. Among all the parents who were summoned yesterday, he is the first one to disagree with sending his child to the borders. He left as soon as he declined. However, unlike the other parents, he had the right to be arrogant as he is a god himself. If he wanted his daughter, Xue Laira, to be completely safe he only needed to bring him over to the Spirit Realm which is in a completely different dimension than their world.

Lord Prophet Heri spoke, ”Lord Thorn, you have come.”

{Prophet, though I promise that tyrant (God of Destruction), that I will not harm the beastmen race, I will not allow you to send my one child to fight in war!} Spirit God Thorn said.

Lord Guardian Vega said, ”We had no intention to force. We summoned only the children whose parents agreed to the summoning. Your daughter will come here on her own.”

”Dad, I came on my own. I ask Grandpa Tree to bring me here. You are not allowed to punish Grandpa Tree!” Xue Laira said.

The God of all spirits said, {Xue’er, the borders are not safe. That place is full of beasts and they would definitely kill you who hasn’t awakened as a real spirit yet.}

Xue Laira said, ”Dad, all my friends are going. How could I just watch them fight alone! I want to fight by their side.”

{No! You can’t! You will have a hard time fighting in that place. Moreover, I cannot go over there! I’ve only placed Spirit Doors in this forest and had no spare divine energy to create one over there to support you! I don’t want you to be in danger. Xue’er, you are the only family I have left. Your mom had gone before I could even save her. I don’t want something to happen to you as well.}

”But dad, I don’t think it’s right for me to hide while everyone, including you, is fighting for the sake of our future. I also want to fight for my own future like I have been doing all these years even before meeting you,” Xue Laira said. ”Moreover, did the Lord Prophet say that the border is relatively safer than here?”

The Spirit God Thorn didn’t know what to say to convince his daughter and fell in short silence.

—

On the other hand, the two wardens who were watching everything from the shadow realm heard the voice of their lord.

{A’Ming, Lou Wuye, are you hearing my words?} This is the God of Destruction speaking.

The Chief Warden Lou Wuye and his partner Warden Yun Ming who were overseeing the ancient forest and were watching what was happening in the prophet’s house suddenly heard the voice of their Lord Hei. They immediately turned respectful and listened to the next words of their lord.

”Master? (Lord Hei!)” The couple called as they saluted on the spot.

{Tell them only those who successfully participate to kill the Evil Beast God and his contractor can receive the reward. As for what kind of reward it is, tell them to ask Long Juedi about it.}

”As you will!”

—

Just as the Spirit God was about to take his daughter away and have a serious conversation at home, the two wardens suddenly appeared in thin air blocking the God of all spirit making the latter frown.

{What is the meaning of these protectors? Are you stopping me from taking my daughter away?} The Spirit God Thorn asked yet his aura turned menacing.

The Chief Warden only glanced at him and said, ”A message from Lord Hei had been given. Everyone in the room is entitled to hear it.”

”Only those who participate and successfully kill the Evil Beast God and his contractor, Pei Jin, can receive the rewards. As for what kind of reward it was, you can ask Long Juedi what Lord Hei had promised to give him after the completion of this mission,” said Warden Yun Ming.

The Chief Warden Lou Wuye looked at the Spirit God Thorn and said, ”You might not be interested in this reward but your daughter will definitely do.”

”We had passed on the message to you. Have a nice day,” said Warden Yun Ming as the two of them once again disappeared like they had arrived.

Everyone unconsciously looked at Long Juedi as his name was the only thing mentioned by the two mysterious pairs whom they only knew as subordinates of Prince Hei and Prince Ye.

Lord Prophet, seeing that the Spirit God seems to be also interested, invites him to drink tea with them while the other children gather around Long Juedi asking him the same question. Even his daughter was interested and ran towards the group. Seeing this Thorn had no choice but to sit down and listen as well as he received a cup of tea from the Lord Guardian.

Haerin asked, ”Gege, my brothers promise you a reward about this destined mission? What is it? Is it something you can tell me? Maybe if we do it I can also wish something to my brothers as rewards. Those two are too powerful. They might be able to give me what I want!”

”Senior Hei had truly promised you a reward. What is it?” Nan Jiang asked.

Princess Shika said, ”I also want to know!”

”Class leader, it’s unfair to hide something like rewards!” Cao Heiji said.

Cao Wanji echoed his elder brother’s words and said, ”Rewards should be shared together!”

”Now, I am also a bit interested. A reward from Lord Hei, that is something I must hear.” Elf Princess Hevana said.

Nangong Rui said, ”Wait, stop pushing! You’re squishing me.”

”What reward is it? Is it amazing!?” Xue Laira asked. In her eyes, the two beastmen princes are unparalleled.

Long Juedi seeing his friend’s anticipation, he didn’t know if he could say it or not. The reward was almost unbelievable if not for him witnessing it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it was real.

”It’s not that I am trying to hide it. But my reward is a bit absurd as it was something he desires the most,” Long Juedi said.

Among them only his cousin, Long Teng seems to have an inkling of what he desires the most and his face turned pale as if he already knew what kind of reward it was.

He questioned in disbelief, ” Are you for real? Is that even possible?!”

”Eh? What are you talking about?” Haerin asked.

Long Juedi said, ”Hei-ge promised me that as long as I defeat Ouroboros and Pei Jin, he will revive my father and grandfather.”

Clank!

A short silence spreads after Long Juedi’s words and what comes after is the sound of something breaking. If the children turn around, they would see the cup in the Spirit God’s hand slipping from his finger and falling on the wounded floor breaking upon impact. That was the only sound that echoed during the short silence.

”A dead person’s revival? Is that even possible?” Nangong Rui mumbles in disbelief but everyone heard his words yet no one reacted right away.

That’s how unbelievable this reward is. At the very least, no god in this world is capable of doing it. Not even the Holy Dragon God that rules the divine realm of this world. Long Juedi wasn’t surprised by their shocked reactions as he already anticipated this. He was also like this when he first heard about it. Being skeptical upon something that is considered impossible is a normal thing. If not for the fact that the God of Destruction had shown some proof that he wouldn’t believe it at all.

With a trembling voice, Xue Laira approaches Long Juedi and grabs his arm as if clutching at the only log that might save her life, that kind of determination.

”Is it... true? No body is needed? He can revive someone?!” Xue Laira asked.

Long Juedi frowning about the force on his arms. But still responded, ”Yes. I have seen him kill a bird and make it explode. It was unknown what he had done but before my eyes the bird slowly formed until it was revived as if it wasn’t bed before. That itself was unbelievable so Hei-ge asked one of his hidden guards to kill himself. The hidden guard didn’t hesitate to behead himself then... like the bird, it forms back its head and returns to life without any problems in their memories and even remembers that he had killed himself.”

The surreal explanation of Long Juedi left everyone dumbfounded even the God of all spirits didn’t seem to believe it. He looked at the couple beside him only to notice that the former elf king and the prophet didn’t seem to be shocked by what Long Juedi had said as if they already knew about it.

The Spirit God Thorn says, ”You already know about this?”

”I do not know about this ability to resurrect the dead but...under the abilities of my nephews, Xiao Jing and Xiao Ye, the current royal family and the hidden guards that protect us are considered immortal as long as they themselves aren’t dead,” Prophet Heri said.

The former elf king saw the distrust upon their words imprinted on the Spirit God’s face. He had no choice but to show him proof. Under everyone’s eyes, he conjured a pointy branch and unhesitatingly stabbed himself on his heart. Everyone was shocked and scared but the God of all spirit stared at the bleeding wound on the Lord guardian’s chest. Under his stare the blood retracted back inside his body and his stabbed wound instantly closed only the hole on his clothes remains which he also mended on the spot. It was only then did Spirit God Thorn somehow accept the words about rewards which Long Juedi had said.
