I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2037: 24.298 Sixth Violet Star - Back to the Ancient Forest

With the situation of the alliance city revealed to the mortal realm, some at the borders didn’t hesitate to leave after they were given permission. There are also some who couldn’t believe even the words of the villain and wanted to see the changes of the city on their own. As their commanders allowed them to make a choice themselves, they decided to come home. Even though they are only a small group, except for the beastmen race who followed their leader to the borders, there are elves, dwarfs and humans within it.

Passing through the gates, they’ve realized that they were allowed to come back as for returning to join the battle at the borders they wouldn’t be allowed to come back anymore. After all, the gates behind them had closed for them. As for the declaration of the commanders and the cheers of determination to protect the borders from their enemies, they can only listen but no longer get involved. They were now just deserters.

The leader that led this group spoke to everyone who left the borders with him.

He said, ”Since we cannot return, let’s go back and check on the city. After we see what we want to look at, we will decide what we want after seeing the truth. Let’s go home!”

They finally left after making the decision and headed to where it led directly to the city. What they didn’t know was that these gates were already under the control of the human race and their return would most likely end into a tragedy. After all, even before the fall of the elf and dwarf kingdoms, the gates had been controlled by the human race.

Because of this, no beings from outside the gates and those coming from the borderlands were unable to enter the city through this path. They were all killed even before they could even pass through these gates. This is also the reason why most of the messengers they had sent back to check on the city never returned. They were killed by the military under the command of their new Marshal, Gu Ying.

This group took days to almost a week before they saw the familiar looking gates. Most of them were excited when they saw the opened gates that lead to the alliance city. As soon as the gates appeared those who were yearning to come back home immediately ran towards the gates even before others could react.

”The gates! We can finally see the gates of the city.”

”Hurry! We need to go back even before

Their leader along the journey was even ignored, thinking that they had finally got to go home, most of the people from their group had run toward the gates. It was already too late for their leader to stop them. What happened next had terrified them greatly.

As soon as the elf came running towards the gates,a long spear unhesitatingly stabbed this person from the side. This attack was brutal enough as it instantly killed the person and even cut their bodies into halves. The leader of the group immediately halted the other members and gestured towards them to hide in the nearby forest for a while. Maybe because of that scene of tragic death, that no one had gone against the order of their leader.

They continued to watch from a distance and saw some human soldiers coming out. Most of them no longer look completely human. After merging with the contracted elementals they got before, they look more like a monster or something mixed that should have never existed.

”Ah? What the hell is this?”

”An elf from the outside of the city?”

”Aren’t most elves killed that day?”

”This one might be from the borders.”

”Check if there are some others! The Marshal ordered us to kill anyone coming from the borders.”

As the members of the small group of deserters overheard the conversation between those soldiers at the gates, they were all horrified. Especially after peeking through those open gates and seeing the scenery from within. There is nothing beyond the gates. The buildings that can be seen even from a distance no longer exist. It was all destroyed. Like their commanders from the borders had said, the alliance city is no more. It was ruined to the point that the buildings were in complete ruins.

Most of the members of this group were dumbfounded by the truth. After witnessing what is happening inside, they regret leaving the borders. To come home or not, this is a question for them. There is still the scene of the elf who was still alive before being cut into two halves just because he wanted to enter the city. He took his last breath after seeing what was beyond the soldiers. A ruined site that was beyond saving.

The group was about to leave when suddenly they were noticed by those soldiers at the gates.

”There they are!”

”Kill them! All others from outside the city must be killed!”

The soldiers upon spotting this group of deserters had chased after them with murderous intent. This is their task and something they must complete. Or else if they exchanged shifts with the other soldiers and failed their mission, they will receive as well.

”Run!”

—

While the situation beyond the gates was lively, the situation within the ancient forest is quite serious. With the alliance between the beastmen race and the spirit race approved by the two races, the spirit gates had appeared above the forest and lingered. The people living in the ancient forest heard everything their divinities had said that day. From the alliance of the spirit race and the beastmen race to the reason for anger of the Spirit God Thorn, They heard everything.

Prophet Heri and Lord Vega handled the rest after the alliance had been approved by the two parties. However, right now, the Spirit God Thorn had returned to the back area of the ancient forest to continue living with his daughter. This time it wasn’t only the God of all spirits who had returned but also the other elemental emperors who wished to meet their young miss. Among these elemental emperors are the Elemental Emperor of the wind, Lord Greene. The Elemental Emperor of the earth, Lord Gaia. The elemental emperor of the forest, Grandpa Tree. The Elemental Emperor of the fire, Lord Pyro and more.

Only the elemental emperors who had sided with the other Spirit God Thorn had arrived in the mansion. Upon entering the mansion, they were welcomed by their princess, Xue Laira who was having a tea party with the elemental emperor that ruled the forest, Lord Tree.

”Xue’er, daddy is back!” The Spirit God Thorn said as soon as he entered the house.

Xue Laira didn’t expect her father to come back this fast. After all, to resolve the problem of the whole race, it would usually take some time for preparations, to solve the problems and clean up the whole thing.

The Spirit Realm’s princess. Xue Laira was stunned.

She said, ”Dad? You are back!”

Welcoming her father back, Xue Laira gave her father a hug. Despite the almost uncontrollable anger of the Spirit God Thorn from before, he was still able to calm down thinking that he would be able to see his daughter soon enough.

After exchanging a hug between families, Spirit God Thorn had all introduced his subordinates to his daughter. The introductions among themselves had smoothly been resolved and Xue Laira was very welcoming of their arrival. After a while, Xue Laira had fallen asleep and was carried away by Grandpa Tree to her own room. As for those who were left behind, the light and soft atmosphere before had started to change.

Spirit God Thorn said, ”You’ve already known about what had happened to our brethren which is also the cause of this war. At the very least, I had tried to save all the spirits. I had never expected that there would be someone who can create a potion that can affect the minds of the elemental, letting them be more vulnerable to signing an unfair contract.”

”Your majesty is saying that those elementals who had been summoned before were all forced to sign a contract.” The elemental emperor of earth, Lord Gaia said. ”Moreover, it’s a contract that cuts off the connection of those elementals to Lord Thorn.”

” Indeed. Their connections to me had been cut off by something unknown. I tried to save them but it was beyond my authority. If only it’s possible to save them and cut off the strange connection where they were forced to sign a contract, I would have done it!” Spirit God Thorn said.

The elemental emperor of fire, Lord Pyro asked, ”Can they be saved if the contract between the two is cut off?”

”No. It’s a life and death contract. It’s the only contract one can sign with an elemental and share everything they have to their summoner. Whether it is strength, their abilities and even their lifespan was shared. Cutting them off is no different than killing them. These elementals can never return to normal and in war, they will not hesitate to kill their own kind.” The Spirit God Thorn said. ”That’s why do not hesitate to eliminate them on the battlefield or else one would suffer enough would still be them. They can no longer be saved and killing them is the same as freedom for their soul.”

”We understand, your majesty!” The other elemental emperors responded.
