I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 2025: 24.286 Sixth Violet Star - Dwarf’s Race Meeting

After the dwarf king Garan had woken up, the first thing he did after meeting his family was to gather everyone from the dwarven race. Since the king of the dwarf is currently forbidden from leaving his bed, he can only see while seated. The door of the tent was flipped open by Dwarf King Garan’s children. The moment the remaining dwarfs had seen Garan they immediately fell on their knees lowering their heads before him.

”We greet the Dwarf King!”

”We thank the king for saving us!”

Seeing the dwarfs all kneeling outside the tent of Dwarf King Garan, the beastmen and elves who were just passing by the area couldn’t help but glance their way. Of course, they are not judging them, instead they were curious what kind of king the dwarf king is. They heard from the elves that this king of dwarfs had stayed with Captain Vera to block the humans just to prevent them from chasing after the others from both the dwarf and elf races. Like a true warrior who is willing to fight with death just so he can protect his people.

Because of this and the words of Elf Captain Vera, they see this man called Garan as a great warrior and respect him for his actions. Now seeing the dwarfs greeting their king, they thought that maybe he is also a good king. It’s just that the elders of his race had caused too much problem leading to the almost destruction of their whole race. Of course, these cannot be blamed on the elder dwarfs too. After all, the final decision will still be left for the king to make. In short, he had made the decision not to fully leave the kingdom, maybe because of attachment or responsibility as the king of their whole race and not just for his family’s sake.

The King of Dwarf Garan had spoken, ”This is something everyone must know about. The truth is that the last time the beastmen raced with Lord Vega as a representative had already offered vassalship to our race which in the end our race had decided to not accept.”

Every dwarfs in the area were shocked except for the family of the dwarf king, this is an information none below the official level know. Now that hearing this everyone is stunned. The vassalship they had been yearning for had been offered to their race even before the elves. Who would have expected that, it was this vassal position they wanted to have the most and something that would allow them to enter the inner region of the ancient forest.

”Listen carefully. At that time, our kingdom still exists and we can live our lives silently underground. However, even I feel the pressure the human race had placed on us and the truth is that I wanted to offer vassalship of our race to the beastmen at that time, but the elder dwarfs didn’t agree to it and even said they will all leave if I implemented this plan and so... I can only forget about the vassalship under these circumstances.”

”Like my existence as the king, the presence of the elder dwarfs are also important for our race. They possessed all ancient knowledge that must be passed on to the younger generation. So I can only compromise with the elders and want to send the women and children of our races to the ancient forest.”

A dwarf spoke up and said, ”Impossible! We heard nothing about this!!”

The King of Dwarfs Garan responded, ”That’s right. You heard nothing. I have issued a decree to be passed on to everyone in the race who would have thought that without informing me the elders had withheld this fact and only the families of my loyalties as well as my own family only knew about my decree. At that time, I thought everyone didn’t agree with my decision and didn’t check. I apologize.”

”I should have just asked everyone face to face instead of just using a decree to spread my intention. Because of this a lot of our people had died and failed to escape during the sudden invasion of the human race to our kingdom. I failed you all. Now that the kingdom no longer exists I will step down as the king and just become an ordinary dwarf like everyone else. If you still want me to lead you and are still willing to believe me, then please call me leader or boss instead.”

”Without a kingdom, there is no need for a king as well.”

The dwarfs were silent for a moment as if digesting the words the now former king of dwarfs, Garan, had said. Like their former king had mentioned there is no more kingdom and the position of the king no longer had any use. However, if they are going to find a new leader to lead them, there is no one more suitable than the former king. Just his strength and connections alone will be enough for them to have a new standing in this forest.

It was only now that they had realized that even though there is a possibility of them becoming a vassal under the beastmen race, they will never be equal to the elves who are under the guardian of the forest, Lord Vega. Even so, they aren’t willing to stay at their current position. They also wanted to fully be part of this ancient forest and are more than willing to serve the Beastmen race who choose to save them despite the happenings within the world beyond their walls.

”Boss, you should do it!”

”Become our leader. If you no longer want to be a king, a leader is also good.”

”Big Boss we want to become a vassal to this tribe as well.”

”We want to fight and take revenge!”

”Protect this forest!”

”Protect our home!”

Hearing the voices of his brethren, former dwarf king Garan, he can feel their despair for losing their homeland and kingdom, their families and home as well as the ordinary life they were all used to. Though he wanted to blame the human race for their situation, it was not right as well. After all, they were only being controlled and were used as disposable without them knowing that they were all in the hands of the villain who had caused the destruction of their so-called place home, the alliance city.

The dwarf leader Garan said, ”You’re desire to fight and kill your enemies, I understand. But you do know that once we become the vassal under the beastmen race, the decision will be theirs to make and we only have to follow orders. If we start war without thinking this place will be affected as well. When that came, this place had been lost as well then... there will be no place to be called home anymore.”

With his words, the hatred within the hearts of the dwarf had calmed yet it didn’t completely disappear. Garan explained more details to his people. The fact that the villain is none other than the new marshal Gu Ying. How the Elf King Valerian had gone crazy. The fact he was only alive due to his friend’s last sanity just to keep him alive as well as the fact that the humans were being used by the villain itself.

Even though it was quite hard to accept this is undeniably the truth that they must know. After saying everything that needs to be said, the dwarf race had turned silent. They were digesting the information thrown to them. Each were facts and some among them can guarantee that the humans may be indeed under someone’s control. Even the fact that they might be experimented on as some even turned into a monster the last time they were chased here, they didn’t know if they would feel bad for them or hate them for falling easily under the control of the enemy.

Dwarf Leader Garan said, ”For now, go back to your homes and think about it. As for the vassalship, I will only ask for it when I can move. Right now, I cannot even leave the bed.”

Falling deep in their thoughts that dwarfs had dispersed under the command of their boss. Their leader wanted them to decide how they would treat the human race once they came out for a fight. A battle cannot be avoided. With both the dwarf and elf kingdom gone, there is no way the villain would leave the beastmen race alone. They would definitely attack this place which hides not only the remnants of the dwarf and elf race, but also the fact that a race that is stronger than humans exist here.

After the dwarfs had dispersed, Garan had also asked his family to take their leave. His body still needs some healing after all. Unlike the elf race who can ask nature to heal them, the dwarfs can only slowly heal their bodies. As soon as the others left, the old shaman came back to check on him. Seeing the pale expression on Garan’s face, the old shaman carefully laid him back on the bed.

”You are overdoing things! You have just woken up and you think you are fully healed!? This damn brat, pretending to be powerful is not a good way for a leader.”

”Don’t scold me, old lady. With the situation of my race, if I fall now they would be in despair more. I feel... dizzy, can I go back to sleep?” Garan said.

Sigh~

”Sleep. Take your time to rest. You do not have to worry about the rest. The Lord Guardian said, he will come to see you when you’re healed enough to stay awake,” said the old shaman. ”This old lady asked him and the Lord Prophet herself, they said that accepting your race as vassal is a yes but you will need to speak with your people more about what you can contribute to the tribe. You can think about it while healing. For now, go to sleep.”

”Thank you, Old Lady. I will... sleep first,” Garan the moment he closed his eyes had instantly fallen asleep. That’s how bad his injuries are at this moment.
