The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 1086: Chapter 1086: Lin Qing: Inviting the Grandmaster

Song Ci’s body weakness cannot be feigned. After waking for a short while and drinking the medicine, she could barely say a few words before she drifted back into a deep sleep.

Nanny Gong was extremely worried and looked at Lin Qing, asking, ”Isn’t this too unusual?”

Lin Qing responded, ”She originally developed a high fever from the wind illness. The illness hasn’t left yet, so weakness and drowsiness are normal. She needs to be cared for and nourished. I will personally prepare the medicine with Sang’er. You just focus on looking after her daily needs.”

Nanny Gong said, ”This is too exhausting for you.”

Lin Qing shook her head, ”Preparing the medicine is not that tiring, especially with Sang’er’s help. I wouldn’t feel at ease if someone else prepared it.”

Nanny Gong’s heart trembled slightly, and she frowned, ”Are you afraid someone might take this opportunity to do something?”

”Better safe than sorry. At her age, she can’t withstand any trouble. You’ve seen how dangerous this high fever was. I’ll prepare it myself, so I can be more certain about the heat and the order of adding the medicinal ingredients,” Lin Qing replied softly.

Nanny Gong solemnly bowed to her, ”I must trouble you then.”

Lin Qing responded politely.

Chun Fen came in, saying that Song Zhiyuan invited Lin Qing over for a discussion.

Lin Qing adjusted her clothing, walked out to the outer room, and entered the east side room, where, besides Song Zhiyuan, there were Nan Shan and two unfamiliar old servants.

This was to avoid suspicion.

Lin Qing bowed and stood with Nan Shan. Song Zhiyuan spoke directly, without beating around the bush, asking both about the main cause of Song Ci’s illness.

Nan Shan said, ”I couldn’t find any trace of insect bites. I took a drop of the Lady Dowager’s blood to test on a living organism, and for now, there’s no sign of poisoning.”

Lin Qing added, ”I attribute it to her advanced age and frail health. Also, with the changing seasons entering winter, the cold weather often causes illness in the elderly, especially since the Lady Dowager has always been weak.”

”So, you both believe there was no foul play or poisoning involved?” Song Zhiyuan’s voice was calm, though it was unclear if he felt disappointment or sadness.

Lin Qing and Nan Shan answered in unison, ”That’s what it seems at present.”

Song Zhiyuan was silent for a moment, then said, ”The Lady Dowager is ill. I ask Doctor Lin to take extra care in looking after her.”

”Rest assured, it is my duty, and I will do my utmost,” Lin Qing bowed, hesitated for a moment, and continued, ”If you are still worried, if it is possible to invite my master here, he can conduct a thorough diagnosis for the Lady Dowager.”

”Your master?”

Lin Qing nodded, lowered her gaze briefly, then raised her eyes and uttered a name, ”It is Master Buhui, who currently resides at Guanghan Temple on Yujing Peak.”

Song Zhiyuan raised an eyebrow, but his expression remained calm, ”Good. But inviting him suddenly, I fear he may not agree to come. If Doctor Lin would write a letter...”

”I can write a letter, but whether he comes or not will depend on my master’s willingness,” Lin Qing had nothing more to say, and Song Zhiyuan asked no further questions, letting them leave.

Song Zhiyuan left the east side room and summoned Jiang Fula, ”Arrange for Fuduo to make a trip to Yujing Peak, take Doctor Lin’s letter, and invite Master Buhui to come to examine the Lady Dowager.”

Jiang Fula was slightly surprised but did not question it further, simply agreeing to it.

Lin Qing returned to her room, sat in a daze for a while, unsure of her thoughts, then spread out the letter paper, dipped her brush in ink, and began to write.

Meanwhile, far away at Guanghan Temple on Yujing Peak, two young monks were meeting over a game of chess.

A handsome monk looked at his opponent and suddenly smiled, saying, ”An old friend invites, Master. Please make this journey to accumulate virtue.”

If Song Ci were there, she would undoubtedly exclaim, ”It’s you again, Jinghui, the little bald head!”
