The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 1054: Chapter 1054: Cruel Reality

Lin Qing was meticulously writing down the medical cases she had pondered over, contemplating turning her research into a book. If it could leave a lasting legacy, it would indeed be a significant achievement.

A yellow leaf floated in from outside with the wind, landing in her line of sight. Lin Qing paused, placing her brush on the white jade lotus leaf brush holder, and delicately picked up the leaf with her slender fingers.

”Spring fades and autumn arrives again; in the blink of an eye, I’ve been living in this mansion for nearly three years.”

Standing by the desk, A-Sang, who was grinding an ink stick, heard this and asked, ”Are you planning to leave, Master?”

Lin Qing was taken aback and looked outside, saying, ”When I first came to this mansion, I had agreed to stay for only three years. Now, as the time approaches, I’m somewhat uncertain.”

A-Sang smiled and said, ”The Prime Minister’s Mansion holds you in high regard, treating you as an equal to a scholar. If you don’t bring it up, they likely won’t voluntarily suggest your departure.”

Supporting a mansion doctor really doesn’t cost much silver, and for the Prime Minister’s Mansion, it’s even less of an issue. Rarely found is a female doctor, and even more so a skilled one, which is truly hard to come by.

The most crucial point is that Lin Qing has expertly assisted in delivering and caring for the several Madams over these years, earning their considerable trust, far greater than outside.

Most doctors are male, and for sickly women and female members, there are naturally inconveniences that can’t be spoken of clearly, highlighting the demand for female physicians.

A-Sang dared to say that the Song Mansion would not only refuse to dismiss Lin Qing but would also persuade her to stay if she wanted to leave.

”In truth, if you wish to remain here, that would be quite good too,” A-Sang said.

The Prime Minister’s Mansion is powerful enough to shelter master and servant, providing protection. Outside, it’s difficult for women to practice medicine and not entirely safe. She preferred her master to stay so things like being forced to become a concubine wouldn’t happen again.

Lin Qing shook her head with a smile, ”Staying is not possible for a lifetime, as it goes against my initial intentions. I’ve learned all these things and wish to extend them, curing more people.”

A doctor’s benevolence cannot be confined to one mansion; though it is stable, the medical cases she encounters are few. She doesn’t want her knowledge to be buried in such stability.

A-Sang, hearing this, said no more and gazed outside: ”Nanny Gong has arrived.”

Lin Qing turned, stood up, and noticed Nanny Gong’s face wasn’t looking well, her smile inevitably fading.

”Is Nanny’s complexion not looking good? Are you feeling unwell, or is there something wrong with the elderly Madam?” She walked over, naturally holding Nanny Gong’s wrist, with two fingers lightly placed on it.

Nanny Gong’s heart warmed, and she said, ”The old servant is fine; it’s the elderly Madam who wants you to check her pulse.”

Lin Qing frowned, ”Feeling unwell occasionally?”

”She forgot about the Longevity Festival approaching,” Nanny Gong said solemnly. ”She truly forgot.”

Lin Qing was startled and noted the worry in her eyes, saying, ”Nanny, you must know that the elderly Madam fell ill a few years ago, ultimately damaging her foundation. In recent years, I have primarily helped to regulate and strengthen her constitution, but this is merely a temporary fix. The elderly Madam’s health was exhausted during her youth.”

Upon hearing this, Nanny Gong was somewhat panicked: ”What do you mean?”

”The elderly Madam’s health is actually older than her peers by at least ten years. As she grows older each year, it’s normal for her to gradually forget things,” Lin Qing stated almost cruelly.

Nanny Gong staggered.
