The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 1056: Chapter 1056: The Truth Can’t Be Hidden

As a doctor, the most satisfying thing is when the patient is willing to cooperate. Song Ci took the initiative to ask for treatment, and Lin Qing also wouldn’t refuse. After pondering for a moment, he formulated a plan using acupuncture and medicinal meals.

”Actually, the most important thing is not to worry too much. Just comfortably be the ancestor, eat and drink well, no matter if the sky falls, there are young ones to take care of it.” Lin Qing said, ”They say raising a son guards against old age. Didn’t you have sons to be pillars for you to rely on in old age? They are there for everything.”

Song Ci muttered, what’s the point of raising sons to guard against old age; sunscreen and elegant make-up are what truly safeguard against aging.

However, such thoughts are better kept to oneself.

”What am I worried about? Which day am I not happy and carefree?” Song Ci said, ”Isn’t it all because I’m getting older that I am this way?”

Claiming not to worry is actually difficult; she must still secure an Iron Contract for the Song Mansion to ward off dangers, so that when she passes away, she can at least fulfill the original old lady’s contract and happily return to the modern era.

Even if she can’t secure that treasure, she needs to ensure that people in the mansion won’t act recklessly to avoid being wiped out.

”It’s good that you understand.”

Song Ci smiled awkwardly and thought for a moment, speaking to both: ”Don’t tell the family about my health issues to avoid making them worry as well. Besides, it’s not that serious, best not to mention it.”

Nanny nodded affirmatively.

Lin Qing completed the medical plan and said, ”I’ll go prepare some ingredients for your medicinal meals. In the future, you can bathe in medicinal baths three times a week. Before sleep, I’ll perform acupuncture once more for better rest.”

Song Ci readily agreed.

Once Lin Qing left, Song Ci sighed and leaned on the beauty couch.

Nanny brewed a cup of warm tea and said, ”Don’t think too much about it.”

”How can I not think? This situation makes me feel like my time is short.” Song Ci sighed.

Nanny felt a heavy heart and said, ”Old servant doesn’t like hearing such things.”

Song Ci smiled, ”Alright, alright, it’s my fault for making even Nanny worry. Let’s not talk about it; let’s speak of happier things.”

Though not speaking of it, necessary preparations must be made, especially since Chunhui Hall is home to a little one.

From that day, Chunhui Hall was filled with the aroma of herbal medicine, and Song Ci’s garments were frequently changed. There’s no helping it; acupuncture could be painful, and Song Ci, who feared pain, clenched her teeth and endured, sweating thoroughly.

Fortunately, Song Ci had been accustomed to consuming medicinal meals for some time. Now, in the autumn and winter, she treated herself as an elder increasing supplements without drawing much attention.

Yet, in the mansion, there’s no hiding from the master Song Zhiyuan. Once he learned about Song Ci’s condition from Lin Qing, he felt deeply concerned internally.

”The Emperor noticed you’ve been somewhat distracted these few days, what’s the matter?” Emperor Chu looked at his old friend and trusted minister’s gloomy face and couldn’t help but frown in inquiry; his own son-in-law wasn’t returned yet, so why did his friend appear even more mournful than him?

Song Zhiyuan closed the document in his hand and said, ”Your Majesty, what mood were you in before the late Emperor’s passing?”

Emperor Chu was taken aback; why bring up the late Emperor so suddenly?

His mind turned, he asked tentatively, ”What’s wrong, is the old lady in the mansion unwell?”

Song Zhiyuan shook his head with a bitter smile, ”Not really, just the old lady has grown older, started forgetting things; perhaps in a couple of years, she won’t even recognize me.”

Regretting not raising more before it’s too late; when reaching middle age, this is the greatest fear!
