Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1319: Chapter 717: Battle Between Monsters (2)

And an unexpected figure also emerged from the shadows, surprisingly, it was the tomb robber Audrey.

You should know a madman ran out from the hotel, and although it’s no longer crowded with early adventurers, many outsiders are temporarily staying here.

The madman was the first to be driven insane by the extreme dark phenomenon, but he wasn’t the first to be affected.

Actually, Audrey was the first to truly encounter Hamlet’s darkness, from the moment she returned from the Dark Dungeon, she became engulfed in prolonged torment.

That experience kept torturing her sanity, emptiness and despair made her lose her yearning for reality, she became like a rat in the gutter, everything turned meaningless.

Until the extreme darkness descended, the various noises outside, wails, screams, gunshots... seemed to pull her back to that place of despair, the intense reaction almost triggered her pressure leading to emotional collapse.

Then she heard the loud shouts outside, the constant knocking on the door, police were screaming to evacuate civilians as they broke in.

Because many were unconscious due to spiritual fluctuations, the police took her without hesitation.

Outside, the chaotic scene, flickering flames, and the police fighting monsters fearlessly like a sacrifice for protecting the civilians.

The resolute spirit of those policemen in despair ironically made her calm down, because she remembered a man, the one who completely brought her out of the dungeon.

At that moment, her wavering soul suddenly found an anchor, swiftly stabilizing her, Audrey didn’t know why, but she knew she had survived.

The policeman carrying Audrey felt a sudden lightness on his back, then turned to find she was gone, doubting if he was going insane.

But Audrey was already battling with the monster, compared to the police who were like moths rushing into the flame, her agile form could hold off the enemy without getting hurt.

However, her knife and poison darts inflicted minimal damage, barely able to hold it off.

This gave Hamlet some breathing space, the police began rescuing comrades, some were killed by sorcery beyond saving, but some injured could still be salvaged.

Nonetheless, this window didn’t last long, because Audrey’s condition quickly declined, not to mention she’d been starving for a while, and the monster’s strength was terrifying.

Again it raised its twisted grotesque arm and let out a weird howl at Audrey, the violent spiritual impact surged, fortunate she’s not a spellcaster, or it’d be disastrous.

Audrey quickly broke free, having seen the truly terrifying places with Lord, and the days of torment granted her some resistance.

But just this moment of distraction cost her the biggest advantage, now the monster fiercely advanced, she had little resistance if caught.

Even dodging was a struggle, at this time, she seemed to hear something, the sound of chains moving, but why were they here...

Then in the next second, the monster made a loud explosion, the sound of flesh and steel clashing, followed by a pause in its movement as it fell into rigidity.

At this moment, under the torchlight, Audrey saw a hunched figure entangled in chains, emerging with ragged cloth.

The man held the wrist shackles’ chains in hand, the long chains hung low to the ground, bloodstained at the ends indicated it was the weapon striking the monster.

Looking at the monster now, its back of the head had been struck by the chain, a large portion of flesh was smashed, showcasing the immense force then.

No time to ponder much, Audrey, who previously fought flesh monsters, immediately went to finish with a pickaxe, instantly striking its head, causing the remaining flesh to shudder.

”Quickly, find something to burn it!”

Shouting while trying to swing the pickaxe for further blows.

But as before, this guy wasn’t a cultist nor a flesh aberrant demon, instead, two forces were in a strange balance, behind which was old ancestors and unstable spiritual confrontations, now they broke it.

Instantly, a torrent of corrupted spiritual essence swept through, visibly extinguishing large swathes of torches held by people, leaving everyone’s soul heavily struck.

Audrey quickly responded and escaped, but was still chased by the raging tide, leaving her instantly wilted.

The flesh body perished, now heretic’s spiritual essence gained dominance, and the body wasn’t such an inconvenient vessel!

The monster’s flesh began further mutation, countless eyes closed, yet increasingly powerful spiritual fluctuations continued to spread, unrestrained force seemed to swallow everything.

”Ah!” Continuous howls erupted from the chain-bound man, as he approached, suffering considerable impact, striking his weak spot precisely.

The blood within seemed boiling hot, muscles, bones torn painfully, more agonizingly a voice echoed in his mind, wanting him to release ”himself”.

The chains on him clinked, uniquely styled lock dimmed amidst spiritual fluctuations.

Until a moment, the man suddenly hunched, thin flesh wriggled, veins protruded, strange force broke out from inside, next second came the eardrum-tearing sound of chains ripping.

┗|｀O′|┛ Aow~~

With a roar, the man broke free from chain restraints shredding the ragged cloth, however, what emerged wasn’t human, but a hellish demon-like creature.

Body swelled considerably, crimson skin showed sulphur-like yellow-green veins bulging, the muscular body under such vein contrast resembled lava cracks.

Although possessing five fingers, they were transformed into strong claws, feet contorted like hooves of cattle, also growing sharp claws, no wonder he hadn’t worn shoes.

The most exaggerated element was belonging to the head, completely unrecognizable as human, a wolf-like ferocious beast head full of sharp fangs.

On the head, further exaggerated long horns grew, without facial branding, one wouldn’t recognize the creature as the man previously.

The creature seemed devoid of sanity, watching Audrey struggling against heretic’s power, she was dumbfounded.

Weren’t you an ally? How come you look more like a monster?

Finished, finished, couldn’t even handle one, and now another goes insane...

The hellish-demon-like werewolf, unknown what power possessed, truly wandered freely in the polluted spiritual tide as if unconcerned.

Moreover, sanity seemed retained, eyes locked on the mutated monster, ruthlessly charging forward.

Collide!

The explosive force readily shattered brick pavement, like a mud bulldozer fiercely ramming into the monster, disrupting mutation, sending it flying, crashing into a nearby building with a thud.

Granted, Hamlet’s building quality was decent, elsewhere it might’ve penetrated through. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Yet things weren’t finished, the raging werewolf stretched robust left arm to tear, claws causing flesh to burst.

More horrifyingly, the werewolf bit down, disregarded flesh’s decay, assisted by claws, forcefully ripping the monster apart.

The monster not dead from countless shots ended shredded rapidly, the tumultuous spiritual tide receded, corruption dispersed leaving the still furious werewolf, eyes fixed upon present Audrey.

Damn! Why are you staring at me!
