Beneath the Red Dragon

Young Red Dragon Kedelos quietly lay in the pit he had dug himself, with only his big red head exposed, covered by torn thick vines and wild grass—an amateur disguise he learned during his solitary wandering days.

It was indeed quite amateurish; he was completely unaware that the two sturdy dragon horns on top of his head had already pierced through the disguise of thick vines and wild grass, protruding like two upside-down, massive carrots.

A few tall trees grew overhead and beside him, and amidst the dense branches perched rows of flying birds.

Among them were ravens, woodpeckers, jays, magpies, sunflower-crested parrots, and other birds considered smart in the avian world.

On another branch stood hawks and kites, which usually feed on ordinary birds; these normally incompatible birds were currently gathered in one place.

The chatter of incessant chirping and the loud calls of hawks, along with the grating caws of ravens, mingled together, driving Red Dragon Kedelos’s ears nearly to the brink of explosion.

Yet he was completely unaware that the edge of his territory had recently seen an increase in the activity traces of flying birds and wandering beasts.

He merely delighted in the fact that more prey was available, making his territory more prosperous.

Caw caw,

Two parrots and several ravens fixed their small eyes on the exposed two thick carrots and then called out twice to the other birds.

The other birds squawked in response to the calls of the parrots and ravens, while only the proud hawks and kites raised their heads high, staring keenly at the dragon’s movements, ignoring the rest.

Parrots and ravens dared not provoke these birds of prey; even under the command of Green Dragon Antajena, it was common for these mighty hawks and kites to catch a couple of colleagues for a snack.

Green Dragon Antajena was too lazy to care, preferring powerful and beautiful birds or nice-singing nightingales.

Caw caw, the parrots and ravens shouted twice, flapping their wings and flying towards the mountain nest where the Dragon Group resided.

Red Dragon Kedelos didn’t bother with the commotion of these birds and just stared at the distant hills beneath the low cliffs.

The chattering Jackal-Wolf Men raised their ears to listen to their words, trying to figure out the intention of these Jackal-Wolf Men, who carried the aura of other Giant Dragons.

In the past half month, this group of Jackal-Wolf Men had already established a simple camp under these low cliffed hills.

A group of mages arrived at the camp over the following days, directing the busy Jackal-Wolf Men in constructing some large project.

Although Red Dragon Kedelos himself didn’t possess the technical knowledge of Plane Teleportation Gates, he could recognize them.

A Giant Dragon with dragon heritage could become a knowledgeable scholar by spending time learning.

But just this one fact posed a challenge for many dragons.

In reality, under the prevalent lazy nature among dragons, most dragons let these inherited knowledge go unused; only in slumber do they enjoy the lottery-like sensation of knowledge crossing their cerebral cortex.

The heritage of dragons within their bloodline was like a library whose doors were never opened.

Some knowledge required bloodline excavation to obtain, while much could be learned by gently opening the door, but dragons never cherished it.

”Haha, that plane is indeed as the boss said. Not only are the creatures inside weak, but there are also plenty of white-skinned women with big behinds, big chests, and long legs,”

a burly Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldier shouted, as if afraid others wouldn’t know,

”Once we conquer that weak plane, can’t we all get five, six, seven, or eight tender-skinned white women? Boss, there are so many Trees of Life, I feel like I could soak their leaves daily like those whiny human nobility,”

The Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldier moved his waist, made a vulgar gesture, and laughed,

”We can also enjoy the life of human nobility, haha, and enslave those weak natives, letting them mine for our dragons. Those idiots don’t even pick up the gold protruding from the ground as high as a mountain. They’re truly goblins dumb from eating leaves.”

Bang,

The talkative Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldier was kicked over by Jackal Wolfman Leader Yougu; ever since he was kicked by the Red Dragon, he had also caught the habit of kicking others.

”Brainless fool,” Jackal Wolfman Yougu scolded, ”those tenderest women should be chosen by the dragon first. You stupid oaf still want eight women; if you get allocated two males, you’d be lucky.”

”Hehe, males, males aren’t bad either,”

The thick-skinned Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldier flipped over, clambering up, his eyes wide, saliva unconsciously dripping from his mouth.

Whew,

Red Dragon Kedelos’s breath suddenly grew heavy. The dragon’s acute hearing allowed him to hear the Jackal-Wolf Men’s voices from afar, let alone with their booming voices as if they had a megaphone stuffed down their throats.

”Indeed, I knew it. These people must have discovered a treasure, but unexpectedly, they found a complete weak plane, which is far more precious than mere treasure,”

In Red Dragon Kedelos’s mind, a grand plan had already emerged. He intended to occupy this other plane, enslave all living creatures, and establish a Monster Kingdom belonging to him, Kedelos.
