Beneath the Red Dragon

Karon planned to save these materials for crafting his exclusive magic weapons or secret treasures in the future, thus he constantly kept them in his storage stomach, nurturing these precious materials with his own power and bloodline.

Giant Dragons can use magic weapons and magic treasures, but unlike other races, they only need to swallow these magic weapons and treasures to gain part of their abilities and characteristics.

Because they cannot fully utilize the magic weapons and treasures, they can only receive some abilities and characteristics, and there are limitations. A Giant Dragon can only select the enhancement of one magic treasure; more will cause conflicts or even become ineffective, so most dragons do not care much about these things.

Even the enhancement of legendary weapons and treasures is negligible to a Dragon Race in their late growth stages, and divine artifacts are not something ordinary dragons can aspire to.

Thus, even if many dragons seize some magic weapons suitable for themselves, they simply place them into their treasure vaults as collections.

But Karon wanted to attempt something different. He wasn’t sure if it was a natural limitation or because dragons don’t use spiritual power to wield magic weapons and treasures. These are worth exploring. Even if it fails, it is just a loss of some materials.

If successful, it can not only increase his understanding of the world’s rules indirectly but also provide Karon with more means.

”It seems that on the endless road to transcendence, much needs to be explored. Fortunately, although knowledge is boundless, my life can also be infinite, until the end of time!” Karon stood at the top of his lair, overlooking the boundless green wilderness and expressed his sigh.

Then he spread his wings and swooped down!

This land has already welcomed autumn, and although the climate remains warm, the desolate autumn wind has still turned the endless prairies and parts of the forests yellow.

From the air, Karon saw the distant cultivated fields on the opened land, with bent crops hanging full of plump fruits.

Many farmers, naked to the waist, swung their sickles vigorously, harvesting the crops. Occasionally, they looked up and chatted, while many children by the field played or helped women pick up the fallen grains and tie up the crops on the ground.

On the other side of the river, Dragon’s Beloved were much more crude, burying their heads and sticking out their bottoms as they swung their sickles wildly, ignoring the many leftover and fallen crops.

This angered the Pick Elves overseeing the harvest, who flapped their small wings until sparks flew, grumbling and flying around to scold the careless Kobolds and Jackal-Wolf Men.

These Pick Elves, whether male or female, wore hats and flower crowns woven from wheat ears or chestnut stalks, signifying their identity as Agricultural Supervisors.

These were all of the same race as Pikku Little Elf Riven, who had duped them into joining. Pikku Little Elf, more mischievous than Karon the Red Dragon, even suggested not paying the Pick Elves any wages but instead having Karon promise to always protect the Elf Race and provide food as well.

Although the dragons’ natural tendency to be stingy tempted Karon to agree, he wanted to establish a kingdom with proper order, so such behavior was inappropriate and could also lead to laziness among the Pick Elves, thus Karon refused this proposal.

However, the Red Dragon felt that the wages of these Pick Elves were still negotiable. Anyway, Pikku Little Elf Riven would take the blame, for in Karon’s view, a good friend is someone to blame, and a little black pot wouldn’t weigh down Pikku Little Elf Riven’s waist.

Karon landed in front of the orchard opened when the Dragon Group was young. Now this orchard was also full of fruits of numerous varieties emitting different fragrances, making Karon, who always smelled volcanic magma and sulfur, feel a spiritual lift.

Under the urging of the magic power in his body, Karon’s massive form gradually transformed, changing from a Red Dragon nearly sixteen meters long with a wingspan of thirty-two meters into a six-and-a-half-meter-tall humanoid monster, with red horns pointing to the sky and covered in fine red scale armor.

His wide wings also transformed and shrank to match the body’s proportion, naturally relaxing and fitting against the broad back of Karon’s imposing body.

The entire large head shrunk proportionately, becoming more streamlined, with long spines growing from both cheeks, and wide, thick shoulder spikes rising like shoulder armor towards the sky.

On his arms, sharp spines grew from the elbows, and his hands displayed five flexible claws akin to a Dragon Descendant’s.

The scale armor and spines on his body could freely harden or soften according to Karon’s subjective will, and the claws could freely extend and retract.

When not needed, they could be hidden like a big cat’s claws, and when necessary, they would snap out immediately, transforming into lethal weapons for harvesting life.

This was a humanoid form Karon transformed into using the Transformation Skill learned from his lineage. In Karon’s current aesthetic, this humanoid form is the one that matches his taste, whereas the human appearance is too delicate and not consistent with the majesty of a Giant Dragon.

Only those effeminate Green Dragons and Silver Dragons particularly love appearing in human and elf forms.

Although Karon now prefers his Giant Dragon form, this humanoid form was also transformed for the convenience of some activities, after all, the body of a Red Dragon is growing increasingly massive, making it inconvenient to go places.
