Beneath the Red Dragon

”These warriors are exactly what should be called elite. Compared to these warriors, the tribe’s warriors are practically like goblins picking up trash,”

Thoughts of envy arose in Jackal-Wolf Man Yougu’s mind, and he ordered his warriors to remain where they were, while he excitedly headed toward the mountain.

Upon reaching the mountain peak, Jackal-Wolf Man Yougu saw an unexpected sight: a small and frail green-skinned goblin listening to instructions from the towering Red Dragon.

In the eyes of Jackal-Wolf Man Yougu, these goblins had less fighting power than the strong young cubs in the Jackal-Wolf Man Tribe. Beyond shrieking and attacking chaotically, only to scatter just as chaotically, they had no other use.

In previous Jackal-Wolf Man tribes, such creatures were often considered as backup food sources.

The green-skinned goblin being granted a personal audience with the Giant Dragon piqued his curiosity, and he respectfully stood aside, ears perked up to listen to the dragon’s instructions.

”Your most important task right now is to find a foothold in various kingdoms and establish branches of trade caravans. While establishing trade relationships with other kingdoms, you need to gather and compile their intelligence. You don’t need to handle these matters yourself; just pass any intelligence you hear to the intelligence officer,”

Karon eyed the frail goblin before him; this goblin was named Shanshan, as brilliant as gold.

Currently, Shanshan was the most business-savvy goblin talent within the goblin tribe and was Karon’s temporary leader for setting up a trade caravan belonging to the Giant Dragon.

Whether Shanshan could become full-fledged depended on his own abilities and performance.

”Your caravan doesn’t need to deliberately gather intelligence. Remember, never reveal your intentions proactively; just let things happen naturally. The most important goal of the caravan is still to earn profit for the Giant Dragon and develop trade relationships,”

After pondering for a while, Karon added, ”Before you set out, remember to visit Alfred, coordinate on the agreed times, and allocate some resources to establish dedicated bookstores. I want you to ensure that in every city and village of those human kingdoms, there are bookstores belonging to the Giant Dragon. This task, you may not worry about loss!”

Goblin Shanshan’s eyes sparkled as he boldly patted his bony chest and assured, ”Rest assured, my master, I may not be good at anything else, but I’m definitely good at making money. I will certainly ensure that the Giant Dragon’s bookstores won’t face any losses. This is my master’s order, and I will certainly make them shine like Gold Coins!”

Karon smiled at the somewhat confused speech of the green-skinned goblin Shanshan. After interacting with humans frequently, he preferred dealing with these crude and straightforward creatures, at least he didn’t have to ponder deeply to understand their thoughts.

Speaking of which, humans were indeed more complex and contradictory than any other creatures in the world. When humans behaved unlike themselves, the demons in Purgatory and the demons in the Abyss would be in awe, conceding defeat.

Yet even among humans could arise souls as pure and holy as light, saints admired by other races, and beloved souls by all who have faith in divine spirits.

”Very good, I have faith in you, Goblin Shanshan, I will remember your name and hope your abilities are as you claim. You will receive the deserved reward in due course,”

The massive Red Dragon deliberately softened his voice for fear a mere breath could blow the frail goblin Shanshan right off the mountain top.

His movements were also gentle, lightly covering the goblin Shanshan’s ugly head with his Dragon Claw, ensuring the sharp claws restrained their edge lest they accidentally end the little goblin’s life.

When alone with the Giant Dragon and these Beloved, Karon never used Transformation Skill to morph into a Dragon Descendant form. Different targets require different approaches.

With creatures that only revered strength and violence, Karon would establish an impression of absolute rule with strength and posture surpassing theirs.

Bang, bang, bang,

Goblin Shanshan rhythmically knocked his head, then cheerfully took leave. Receiving attention from the Giant Dragon was the best way for these Beloved to surpass their own social class, and he was quite satisfied.

”Master, Jackal-Wolf Man Yougu summoned and has come for an audience,” Jackal-Wolf Man Yougu knelt on one knee, pressing his hand tightly against his chest and heaving a firm hit, bowing his head.

The Red Dragon’s robust and broad head lowered, the face full of spikes nearly touching the Jackal-Wolf Man’s head, as deep red pupils scrutinized the bowing Jackal-Wolf Man Leader.

Karon could sense the involuntary trembling of the Jackal-Wolf Man’s body, caused by the ever-increasing majesty and pressure of the Red Dragon.

”Yougu, if the Giant Dragon needed Jackal-Wolf Men to shed blood, what would you do,” Karon’s words were like a hammer blow to Jackal-Wolf Man Yougu’s head, as he was somewhat unsure if he had done something inadequate, causing the Giant Dragon to be dissatisfied with the Jackal-Wolf Man Tribe.

However, he dared not hesitate, responding firmly and unequivocally: ”If the Giant Dragon needed Jackal-Wolf Men to shed blood, then Jackal-Wolf Men would forge the glorious Holy Emblem of the Giant Dragon with their own blood. My master, your will is the oracle that Jackal-Wolf Men should heed!”

”Haha,” the Red Dragon lifted his head, the tremendous pressure abruptly vanished.

Karon roared with laughter, ”Then I’ll give you an opportunity, Yougu, go find the Dwarf Artisan, the Craftsman Official Clagon in the territory. Have him provide three hundred sets of Iron Armor and weapons for your Jackal-Wolf Men,”
