I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

As the former second-in-command of the Gray Wolf’s Fang Adventurer Group, she had rich experience in dealing with other adventure groups.

Whether it’s a sincere visit or probing with ulterior motives, she can usually discern the truth with great accuracy.

Led by the Wanderer Ethan, Luna called upon several other subordinates as they walked towards the forest.

After walking some distance, they saw several people blocked by members of the Red Dragon Team outside.

Two men and one woman.

Luna glanced at their equipment and positioning, instantly assessing the situation of the squad.

This is a typical scout squad from an adventure group, specialized in exploring and gathering intelligence; their horses were tied to a nearby tree trunk.

According to Ethan’s intel, they showed themselves voluntarily, which was honest and by the rules, without rashly probing into the Red Dragon Team’s affairs without permission.

On the other side, upon seeing Luna, the expressions of the three became somewhat restrained.

As scouts, the most important skills are stealth and intelligence gathering, and they can naturally detect Luna’s powerful magic power unabashedly surrounding her.

This is clearly a powerful Caster.

Realizing Luna’s strength, the leading middle-aged Ranger took a half step forward, bowed, and introduced himself.

”I am Colin, captain of the third scout squad from the Wildfire Group.”

”These two are my team members.”

Wildfire Group?

Luna thought for a moment and soon found the corresponding information from her mind, it’s an adventure group in Barry City, led by a Level 10 Warlock skilled in Fire Magic Casting.

Similar to the leader’s style, most of the Casters in the group were proficient in Fire Magic.

Such personnel composition in adventure groups is not uncommon. After all, many members join with the notion that they can get guidance on their practice from the leader, eventually forming a relatively specialized style.

Of course, it doesn’t mean such Mage Corps consist solely of Mages; even in these themed teams, Mages are a minority, serving as the tactical core, while professions like Warrior Ranger, Wanderer, Priest are equally indispensable.

Luna was not one for dawdling; after brief self-introductions, she inquired about their intentions, keeping her attractive eyes fixed on them to ensure they weren’t lying.

She soon understood their motives.

Actually, during the battle, some adventure group members had noticed the commotion here.

However, as only some scouting teams were around to gather intelligence, they merely observed the battlefield from a distance, afraid of getting caught in the crossfire.

After the battle ended, most scout teams had returned to their respective adventure groups.

The leadership of the Wildfire Group was the quickest to decide.

To avoid unnecessary misunderstandings, they sent only the three who gathered intelligence during the battle to ask about the specific situation, whether the Fourth Floor Lord Demon was slain, and the opening time of the fifth floor, etc.

Luna could clearly sense the extreme caution and prudence in the attitudes of the three during the conversation.

Moreover, she could feel that such carefulness wasn’t just due to her identity as a Level 9 Warlock, even facing other ordinary Red Dragon Team members, these scouts were quite polite, even somewhat humble.

But recalling the swallowing motion and fleeting respectful expression when they mentioned Gauss, Luna had a calculation in her mind, soon realizing the true reason for their humility.

They must have witnessed Gauss’s rampant monster slaughtering posture on the battlefield firsthand, being stunned by the destructive power far surpassing that of a Master-level Professional.

Thus, they dared not stir trouble in front of the Red Dragon Team.

After all, to slaughter monsters like treating insects, engaging a smaller adventure group would be even easier.

Indeed, as Luna suspected, these three scouts were terrified by the combat power beyond comprehension and didn’t dare to conceal anything when asked repeatedly by their superiors upon return, describing in detail the unusual strength Gauss displayed.

Moreover, while watching the Memory Ball-recorded footage, they chilly discovered a detail not previously noticed.

That was during the battle, Gauss looked in their direction on purpose.

This indicated Gauss had already noticed them; if he intended to act upon them then, they’d likely never make it back.

After a meticulous analysis of the battle footage of Gauss, the Wildfire Group confirmed he was definitely not an opponent to provoke, thus in a very short time unanimously passing the attitude towards the Red Dragon Team.

Namely, don’t exploit the situation. They reckoned even with the combined forces of the entire fourth floor’s adventure groups, defeating such a terrifying opponent might not be possible.

The displayed Extraordinary Combat Power of the Red Dragon Team’s leader in the footage was absolute, in some aspects not equivalent to ordinary Extraordinary strength.

If in the outside world, though strong, this leader would not be without adversaries.

However, at this moment in the Timbel Maze, he was like a fierce tiger amongst sheep with no worthy opponent found.

None who made it to the upper echelons of adventure groups were foolish, once the huge disparity in combat power was clearly realized, they decisively abandoned unrealistic ideas.

The reward for killing the Demon Lord and the advantage of entering the fifth floor early were indeed tempting, but they also required one’s life to claim them.

This time their scout team came only to convey the intentions of higher-ups, inquiring if the Red Dragon Team needed any assistance; their Wildfire Group was glad to serve.

Luna didn’t provide much information, yet didn’t outright refuse either, merely telling them to go back and wait, as the Red Dragon Team needed to collect the first batch of high-value loot before engaging other adventure groups.

Regarding Luna’s reply, the three didn’t think much, nor dared to show any dissatisfaction.

The Red Dragon Team’s ”guarding food” behavior seemed very normal to them.

If their Wildfire Group had such power to single-handedly slay the Demon Lord and majorly decimate armies of the fourth-tier demons, they too would allow their members to feast first and then consider whether to share a bowl of soup.

Their primary goal in being sent here was actually to gain familiarity with the Red Dragon Team.

Thus, after receiving the response, the three soon bid farewell and disappeared into the forest.

In the following half-day, other adventure group members continued to arrive intermittently.

Like the Wildfire Group’s scout team, these people were also quite tactful in their attitudes.

In the adventurer world, strength is the best credential.

Even though many adventure groups in Barry City previously knew nothing about the mysterious Red Dragon Team and leader Gauss, they witnessed Gauss’s formidable power firsthand in the recent battle, presumable in a very short time, ”Gauss” will spread among Barry’s adventurers.

After working for half a day, Luna returned to Gauss’s side.

At this moment, Gauss’s external aura remained stable; it would be hard to associate his current state with undergoing a breakthrough, if not informed in advance, one would likely think he was merely meditating to restore magic power.

Sensing Gauss’s calm-as-water state, Luna unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.

But what she didn’t know was, beneath Gauss’s seemingly calm body, magic power was surging violently.

If such terrifying magic power appeared within other Master-level Casters, it would only take a very short time for it to burst them to death.

But Gauss’s body was simply too ”tough.”

His body was like a container forged from the strongest materials, no matter how violently magic power surged within, it maintained a composed state.

Especially this time, his ”experience” was so abundant, there was an innate sense of natural progression with the breakthrough.

His magic power autonomously surged through his body, each time flowing in a circuit, it visibly grew larger.

If not for fear of startling others, he could even stand and move freely.

At some point, the magic power circulating within finally reached its peak.

”Snap!”

A crisp sound echoed within Gauss’s body.

The stubborn bottleneck, which was extremely formidable to ordinary Professionals, shattered, forming a steady cycle of surging magic within Gauss.

And the magic power in the Magic Cup had reached a highly concentrated state, each droplet of golden magic liquid able to release immense energy.

Gauss opened his eyes.

This breakthrough was the easiest he had ever experienced, akin to waking from a restful sleep, feeling utterly refreshed, yet upon closely sensing his body, he could detect a terrifying power flowing.

”Main Profession Magic Envoy Level increased to: 8”
