I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

”Total monster kills: 50000/50000, milestone achievement for 50,000 kills reached.”

”Reward obtained: 5th-ring Evocation Spell [Bigby’s Hand].”

”Reward obtained: 5th-ring Evocation Spell [Dawn].”

”Reward obtained: Profession Feat [Three-Phase Source Power].”

”Reward obtained: Strength +1, Constitution +1, agility +1.”

Strength: 16→17

agility: 15→16

Constitution: 16→17

Intelligence: 19

Perception: 16

Charm: 16

This wave of rewards from fifty thousand kills even took Gauss by surprise.

First of all, he had finally obtained 5th-ring Spell rewards, and got 2 of them at once.

You had to know that 5th-ring Spells were anything but ordinary; normally you needed to reach Level 11 as a Caster before you could learn them, and they were extremely difficult.

On top of that, their price was rather steep; any one of them would cost at least several hundred to a thousand Gold Coins to start with, so he hadn’t been in a rush to learn them.

Now, the Adventurer’s Handbook directly rewarded him with two 5th-ring Spells, which was basically a stepping stone, smashing open the mysterious gate of the 5th ring for him; from now on, with the experience from these two Spells, he could also try to independently learn more 5th-ring Spells.

And these two Spells were anything but ordinary.

The effect of Bigby’s Hand was to create a gigantic hand. He could freely manipulate this massive hand to unleash attacks with terrifying destructive power; in Gauss’s understanding, it was somewhat like a super-enhanced version of Mage’s Hand.

As for the latter, Dawn was a light-attribute Magic. To be precise, its effect was to form a blazing sunbeam descending from the sky; enemies standing within it would suffer massive radiant damage.

These two offensive Magic Spells greatly raised Gauss’s damage ceiling, allowing him to handle powerful Demons with far more ease.

Even though he spent most of his time killing small fry, powerful offensive Magic could be left unused, but it absolutely could not be absent.

Besides that, Gauss’s Strength, Constitution, and agility each rose by one point. On the path of becoming a ”balanced barrel,” he was going further and further; the extra Attribute points from the Adventurer’s Handbook left him with no obvious weakness in any Attribute, which was also the key to his ability to fight one against many with insane sustain.

However, what delighted Gauss the most wasn’t the 5th-ring Spells or the Attribute points, but that inconspicuous Profession Feat [Three-Phase Source Power].

Feeling the powerful energy surging in his body like the tides, he instantly understood the effect of this Profession Feat.

This was precisely the ”conversion of power” he had been yearning for.

[Three-Phase Source Power] granted Gauss the ability to freely convert between three entirely different types of power: Physical Strength, Magic Power, and Life Force.

A look of barely suppressed joy flashed across his face.

Simply because he knew that his last obvious weakness had been completely patched up.

The value of [Three-Phase Source Power] was something no 5th-ring Spell or Attribute points could compare to; its arrival would massively boost his combat strength.

He already possessed plenty of recovery methods. Whether it was using [Feast] to restore Physical Strength and Magic Power by eating, or using Spells and title effects to siphon Life Energy from other monsters, these three types of power had, after all, existed separately before.

And now this huge tree-like web of abilities had finally converged, completing the ultimate unification through [Three-Phase Source Power].

This meant that when he needed to, he could become an inexhaustible Physical Strength freak, and in the next instant turn into a Spell artillery platform whose Magic Power skyrocketed and recovery speed was greatly increased, or transform into a ”meat tank” with insanely tenacious Life Force.

Honestly, feeling that trident-shaped radiance pulsing violently inside him, even he felt that if he were the enemy facing someone like himself, he would be in despair.

He felt the three distinct currents of power clearly within his body.

Among them, Magic Power had the greatest ”amount” in his perception, followed by ”Physical Strength,” then ”Life Force.”

Physical Strength was slightly weaker than Magic Power, at roughly three-quarters of it, while Life Force was about half the share of Magic Power, forming an overall ratio of 4:3:2 from most to least.

After receiving all these rewards, Gauss’s body emitted crisp pops like thunder; since his Portal had flown high enough, he was the only one who could hear this sound.

However, the aura on him became even more terrifying.

If earlier he possessed enough power to kill that Extraordinary Dragon Priest Cecilia, then now he could kill her with ease.

Maybe I’ve already brushed against the threshold of Level 12 combat power?

Since he had never fought a Level 12 creature, he still didn’t know exactly what level his strength had reached; he could only use that dead Extraordinary Dragon Priest as a benchmark.

”Buzz! Buzz!”

Inside his body, the goblet that symbolized the source of his Magic Power was already flaring with dazzling light. This signified that Gauss’s Magic Envoy experience had also reached the limit of his current level, to the point of being so full it was about to overflow.

But after taking a look below him, he clearly knew this was not a good time for a breakthrough.

On the battlefield below, as Gauss’s attention shifted there, the atmosphere instantly grew more oppressive.

Especially those Demons he laid eyes on; their movements all stiffened at once, giving the members of the Red Dragon Team who were fighting them the chance to instantly cut them down.

Taking advantage of this opening, some people also looked up to the heights, toward the source of that almost tangible aura.

They saw their commander standing in the sky, his presence even more terrifying than before.

”The commander got stronger again?”

Many of them were deeply shocked.

Under normal circumstances, the higher the level of a Professional, the harder it was to achieve a breakthrough in combat power; being stuck at a certain level of strength for several months or even years was common.

But this iron rule seemed to be invalid when it came to their commander.

Not only was his strength far beyond theirs, his speed of breaking through and growing stronger was even faster than theirs.

Even Luna was dumbfounded; she sensed an extremely lethal power from Gauss, as if he could kill her with a single thought. Before this, Gauss’s pressure had been strong, but not to such an absurd degree.

Was it enlightenment, a breakthrough in the heat of battle? Or had the commander been hiding part of his strength before?

She pondered in her heart while clicking her tongue in amazement; whichever guess it was, it only proved how unfathomable their commander was.

Only the few old teammates from Red Dragon Team’s first squad, who had followed Gauss the longest, were not surprised at all by this sight.

After all, this wasn’t the first time it had happened; they naturally knew about the terrifying, capricious Talent Gauss possessed—take your eyes off him for a moment, and the captain might have had another epiphany and powered up again.

”Tier-Up Casting, Vampire’s Touch!”

Gauss flashed once, and his whole body plunged into the Monster Legion with a thunderous crash.

Dark red, blood-reeking tentacles slammed down like the tendrils of a giant octopus.

”Boom!”

Dozens of monsters were crushed into pulp on the spot by the massive tentacles and their impact, while a surge of scarlet Life Energy spread along with the blood into the energy tentacles beside Gauss, then continuously poured into his body.

After feeling it, Gauss’s eyes lit up.

Since he was currently in a ”full HP” state, the excess Life Energy siphoned by Vampire’s Touch was naturally converted into Magic Power.

Not to mention, during the battle, his [Feast] Talent was still continuously converting the Magic Stones he swallowed, releasing a steady stream of Magic Power.

This Magic Power just wouldn’t run out, it simply wouldn’t run out...

Maybe when we get back later, I can look for a Spell—if I remember correctly, there’s another 5th-ring Spell called [Energy Drain]. Its effect is simple and brutal, likewise siphoning a target creature’s Life Force, and since it’s a 5th-ring Spell, both its destructive power and siphoning effect would be stronger.

But for now, I’ll make do with the Tier-Up Casting version of Vampire’s Touch.

With the effect of this Spell, plus [Three-Phase Source Power] and [Feast], he could use this Spell without loss; in a dense cluster of monsters, he might even encounter the situation where the more he used it, the more Magic Power he had.

With no worries at his back, Gauss exploded in an all-out state!

”Boom!!!”

”Boom!!!”

”Boom!!!”

He rampaged through the monster horde like a tentacled behemoth; wherever he passed, the monsters were crushed into blood pulp in the simplest, most brutal fashion.

This style of slaughter even made this group of once-devout Demonic thralls subconsciously feel fear.

The ”monster” in the eyes of monsters had descended!
